Broad level cleanliness drive was organised with the participation of students, teachers, local public representatives and local people in the leadership of District Magistrate and Rudraprayag MLA under Swachchha Bharat Abhiyan and Namami Ganga Programme with the cooperation of Nagar Panchayat Agastyamuni, Disaster Management department and Red Cross Society in Agastyamuni on Sunday.
The programme was concluded with administering oath of keeping city cleanliness, to the participants. On Sunday morning, under the leadership of district magistrate Mangesh Ghildiyal, broad level cleanliness drive involving local representatives, students, teachers and other people was held at Vijaynagar Gadhera sports stadium and along ghats of Mandakani river at 7 am.
While addressing the students in the sports department campus as a chief guest Rudraprayag MLA Bharat Singh Chaudhary said that we should keep our district clean in such a way that the message of cleanliness should spread from this district to across the country and we can say with pride that we are resident of Rudraprayag.
District Magistrate said that conducting day long of cleanliness drive would be nothing but cleanliness would have to inculcate in our behaviour then we can make India clean. Ganga would be cleaned only when we would keep our environment clean. On the occasion, painting, slogans, poem, language, general knowledge competitions were held. Winners were awarded.
