Uttarakhand will soon launch student police cadet scheme. In the first phase, the scheme will be started in two schools in each district. A total of 44 students of class 8 and 9 will get one class room training and two outdoor trainings in a week. A meeting of the state level monitoring committee in this regard was chaired by Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh on Thursday.
Chief Secretary said that this scheme will help make the students aware. They could be made aware of the traffic rules, ill effects of drugs, cleanliness and self-discipline. Principal Secretary Home Anand Vardhan said that a committee in this regard will be constituted in each district headed by District Magistrate. The syllabus received from BPRD will be redesigned to incorporate the culture of Uttarakhand and other necessary changes.
