Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), Patiala notches up higher ranking in the QS BRICS university rankings 2019. TIET’s rankings have gone up by an impressive five to 132nd in the QS BRICS university rankings. Additionally, in the first ever a QS India ranking, TIET announces its position at a remarkable 31. The rankings were released in QS India Summit on 15 October, 2018. Last year in the QS BRICS it was ranked 137th. QS is the world’s leading and most comprehensive University Rankings.
TIET has been ranked internationally and continues to raise the bar. Previously, in the QS World University Rankings 2019, TIET was in 801-1000 bracket among the 1011 institutions ranked worldwide. In QS Asia rankings 2018, TIET was ranked at 210th position in Asia. In Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2019, TIET was ranked in 801-1000 bracket among the 1,258 institutions ranked worldwide and 21st joint among 49 institutions within India. In 2018, the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), TIET was 20 in the Engineering Institutions category, 33rd in the University category and 50th in overall category.
