Distributed equipment worth Rs. 43.54 lakhs to differently-abled people

On the initiative of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V Umashankar distributed equipment worth Rs. 43.54 lakhs to differently-abled persons on the occasion of Haryana Day programme held in Panchkula today.
On this occasion WheelChair, Standing Frame Hearing-Aid, Eye Occluders, DB Splint were distributed to mentally challenged children up to the age of 18 years.
In his address, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V Umashankar said that equipments worth Rs. 65 lakhs will be distributed in future. He said that an amount of Rs. 1.10 crore is being spent under this scheme. Presiding over the programme, Chairman, Haryana Power Utilities, Sh. P.K Das said that power companies have become profitable. Because of this, we are running various campaigns under the Social Responsibility Scheme. Public libraries are being established with an aim to enlighten the society of Haryana. We are setting up Sardar Patel Library chain under which 15 libraries have been established so far and 85 more libraries are to be established in future.
Managing Director, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Dr. Saket Kumar said that various campaigns are being run by Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam to make the lives of differently abled people at ease. On this occasion Director General Health Services, Dr. Sonia Khullar, Sh. Sunil Makkar, UHBVN, Director Finance, Sh. Amit Divan, Project Director, Sh. Rajesh Goyal and other officers were present on the occasion.
