National Critical Care Nursing Conference’-2023 (NCNCON-2023) concluded successfully at PGIMER, Chandigarh

The mega national healthcare conclave, ‘National Critical Care Nursing Conference’-2023 (NCNCON-2023) that witnessed the participation of over 1000 participants & more than 100 faculty members from different institutes like AIIMS, Arming institute and nursing institutes, concluded successfully at PGIMER, Chandigarh. Organized by the Society for Critical care nursing and the Society for Emergency, Trauma, and Disaster, PGIMER with the academic Partnership of NIDM, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, this conference was inaugurated by Prof. Vivek Lal, worthy Director PGIMER Chandigarh. While congratulating the participants across the nation, the Director PGIMER highlighted that nurses are the backbone of any successful institute and always play a vital participation in patient care and health promotion. On the first day, hands-on training on ‘Adult Critical Care Nursing’ and ‘Pediatric Critical Care Nursing’ was imparted to the participants headed by Prof. Nidhi panda, Department of Anaesthesia, and Prof. Jayashree, Department of Pediatric Medicine respectively. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Ashok Kumar, Additional Medical Superintendent and he laid emphasis on continuing the training of nurses with newer technology and medical equipment. The conference had parallel sessions on varying aspects of critical nursing viz. nursing practices, neuro nursing, Trauma management, disaster management, and so on, and, lectures and discussions on these topics were taken by renowned speakers from different national-level healthcare institutes. The organizing Chairperson Dr. Raman Sharma deliberated on the importance of critical care updates in Nursing and mass casualty management whereas the organizing secretary Mr. Mahendra Kumar discussed the importance of higher education in the Nursing profession. The conference also had a panel discussion on ‘Violence on Health Care in the workplace wherein panellists ADGP Punjab Sh. Praveen Kumar Sinha and Sh. Adhitaj Singh AAG Punjab from Punjab and Haryana High court, Prof. Rajesh Chhabra, Department of Neurosurgery, PGIMER, Col Kironjot, Indian army, Dr. Raman Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of Hospital Administration, PGIMER deliberated on causes as well as the importance of much needed preventive measures as well as provisions in the law to prevent such rising incidents in the workplace areas, especially in healthcare settings.
