VIGILANCE BUREAU NABS KANUGO RED HANDED FOR TAKING BRIBE RS. 10,000

     Aiming to curb the menace of corruption in the state, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Thursday nabbed a Kanugo Gurwinder Singh, posted in Moonak Tehsil, Sangrur district red handed for accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000.          Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of VB said the above said Kanugo has been arrested on the complaint of Tarsem Singh resident of Moonak.          Giving more details he informed that the complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above said Kanugo has demanded a bribe of Rs. 20,000 for demarcation of land in Nagar Panchayat Moonak Khurd. He further alleged that the accused had already taken Rs. 10,000 as a first installment from him.          After verifying his complaint, a VB team laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000 and tainted money was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses. He further informed that VB team has also recovered Rs. 10,000 from the accused received earlier from the complainant as a first instalment.          He informed that a case under prevention of corruption act has been registered against the accused at VB police Patiala and further investigation was under progress.
