Registration process of 208 acre of land for AIIMS, Rewari completed

Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal said that the registration process of 208 acre of land for AIIMS, Rewari has been completed, while Pt. Neki Ram Sharma, Government Medical College, Bhiwani being constructed at the cost of Rs. 535.55 crore is likely to be completed by December this year.Mr. Kaushal gave this information while participating in a virtual meeting convened by Advisor to Prime Minister, Mr. Amit Khare here today.The Chief Secretary further said that the state government has requested the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to take possession of the land to set up AIIMS, Rewari.Mr. Kaushal further said that Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has informed that HITES has been appointed as Executing Agency for taking up pre- investment activities at the site for setting up of new AIIMS. The construction work will be undertaken by the Executing Agency selected by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.Mr. Kaushal  said that the work  of Pt. Neki Ram Sharma, GMC is in progress and 65 % has been completed till date. He further said that the Bhiwani Medical College is being established under Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Establishment of new medical colleges attached with existing/referral hospitals” under Phase-I which existing District Hospital to be upgraded into a Medical College wherein funding will be shared between Centre to State Government at 60:40 ratio. The process for purchasing the equipments for medical colleges has been already initiated. The funds amounting to Rs.277.55 Crore has been released till the date. He urged the central government to release the balance funds of Rs. 207.93 crore at the earliest.
