Chandigarh, March 17- In a significant move to strengthen the rural economy and enhance farmers\u2019 welfare, Hrayan Governmnet led by Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has announced a substantial increase in budget allocations for key agricultural and allied sectors for the financial year 2025-26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Minister while presenting his budget 2025-26 as the Finance Minister announced to allocate Rs 4229.29 crore for the Agriculture and Farmers\u2019 Welfare Department, which is an increase of 19.2 percent, ensuring greater support for farmers through various schemes and initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Minister announced that the budget of the Horticulture Department will witness a 95.50 percent increase to Rs. 1,068.89 crore, aiming to boost crop diversification and promote modern farming techniques. Similarly, the Animal Husbandry Department\u2019s allocation will rise by 50.9 percent to Rs. 2,083.43 crore, supporting livestock farmers with improved infrastructure and veterinary services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Minister further announced that the Fisheries Department will see the most significant jump, with a 144.40 percent increase to Rs. 218.76 crore, reflecting the government’s commitment to expanding Haryana\u2019s fisheries sector. Additionally, the cooperative sector will receive Rs. 1,254.97 crore, marking a 58.80 percent increase to strengthen rural credit and cooperative societies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Minister said that Agriculture and allied sectors are the backbone of our small state’s economy and will continue to be so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Government to introduce a Bill to save farmers from those selling fake seeds and pesticides-CM<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sharing the policy suggestions sought from stakeholders during the pre-budget consultation meetings, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that all the farmers have expressed that, while the government works tirelessly to provide them with quality seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides at affordable rates, some black sheep in our society try to exploit them by selling fake seeds and pesticides. To protect the farmers from their clutches, the government will introduce a Bill in this session of the House, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini. He urged the members to unanimously pass this Bill just as they unanimously passed the Haryana Agricultural Land Lease Bill in the last session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Government to introduce a new Horticulture Policy aimed to encourage value addition, storage, technology, marketing, natural and organic farming, etc., through both types of FPOs-CM<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that currently, Farmer Producer Organizations registered as a company get the benefit of government schemes, while those registered as cooperative societies are deprived of these benefits. To bridge this gap, the government will soon introduce a new Horticulture Policy that will encourage value addition, storage, technology, marketing, natural and organic farming, etc., through both types of FPOs, shared the Chief Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Women farmers who take loans of up to Rs. 1 lakh to set up dairies will be provided with interest-free loans-CM<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Minister said that on March 8, International Women’s Day, he had announced that women farmers who take loans of up to Rs. 1 lakh to set up dairies will be provided with interest-free loans. He said that the government will bear the entire burden of their interest. As part of our commitment to women empowerment, the various schemes of the agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, and fisheries departments will be made women-oriented. No interest will be charged on the first loan up to Rs 1 lakh taken by women under any scheme, shared Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Minister said that nutrient-rich cow dung manure is an excellent fertilizer for crops. The government will soon formulate a policy to systematically promote the use of cow dung manure in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Special plan to enhance the income of farmers residing in Morni-CM<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sharing the state government\u2019s plan to enhance the income of farmers residing in Morni, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that as Morni is a hilly area, farmers face unique challenges in crop production. Therefore the government will soon formulate a special action plan to enhance the income of farmers in this region, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Minister said that to increase the income of livestock farmers, the government will launch a new scheme in the coming year to provide high-genetic breeds of goats and sheep, such as Beetal, Sirohi, Munjal, etc., which are not found in Haryana, to our farmers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
