With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 29,804 in 199 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The raids have resulted in recovery of 21.1 kg heroin, 2 kg oipum, 254 kg poppy husk, 1156 intoxicant tablets\/capsules and Rs 500 drug money from the possession of arrested drug smugglers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Notably, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has asked the Commissioners of Police, Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendent of Police to make Punjab drug free state. The Punjab government has also constituted a 5-member Cabinet Sub Committee led by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema to monitor the war against drugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Over 150 Police teams, comprising over 1100 police personnel, under the supervision of 68 gazetted officers have conducted raids across the state. Police teams have also checked as many as 395 suspicious persons during the day-long operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The state government has enforced a three-pronged strategy\u2014 Enforcement, Deaddiction and Prevention (EDP)\u2014 to eradicate drugs from the state, the Punjab Police as part of &#8216;De-addiction\u2019 has convinced 56 persons to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment today.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CHANDIGARH, September 16: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
