Chandigarh, April 20 \u2013 Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij said that under the Land Recovery Act, notices will be issued within 15 days to consumers whose electricity connections have been permanently disconnected, for the recovery of pending dues. He issued clear instructions to concerned officials to ensure that the recovery process is completed within the stipulated timeframe without any laxity. Emphasizing the importance of dues recovery, he added that special campaigns are being undertaken to recover the total outstanding amount of Rs 8,200 crore in the state, and coordination with government departments will further expedite the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Providing further details, the Energy Minister said that strict action is being taken to curb electricity theft. Consumers found involved in such cases will be given one final opportunity to clear their dues through fresh notices issued under the Land Recovery Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He reiterated that the state\u2019s power utilities are fully committed to ensuring uninterrupted and quality power supply to consumers. In a recent review meeting, officials were directed to ensure that there are no unnecessary disruptions in power supply during the summer season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vij said that complaints related to power supply will be resolved promptly. Faulty transformers in urban areas must be replaced within 2 hours and within 4 hours in rural areas. Adequate transformer banks and mobile trolleys will be ensured in every subdivision. Additionally, daily power supply data will be regularly submitted to the Energy Minister\u2019s office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also directed officials to ensure timely pruning of trees around 11 kV\/33 kV feeders to prevent disruptions during rains and storms. Instructions were also given to ensure adequate transportation resources for transformers and to avoid any inconvenience to farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highlighting safety as a top priority, the Energy Minister directed that all technical staff must mandatorily use prescribed safety kits and strictly adhere to all safety protocols. He also emphasized strengthening the availability of materials, transparent inventory management, and online monitoring systems within the department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, Vij said that efforts will be accelerated to achieve the target of providing solar power to 2.2 lakh households by March 2027. Monthly targets will be set for officials to ensure timely implementation.
