Haryana Government Inks MoU with Alliance Air,  Dushyant Chautala

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh.  Dushyant Chautala said that today is a historic day for the state as an MoU has been signed between the state government and Alliance Air. Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that after the air connectivity from Hisar, there will be growth in the manufacturing, defense, and industrial sectors in the district, becoming a significant source of revenue for the state.

The Deputy Chief Minister revealed that the Haryana government has signed an MOU with Alliance Air. Flights from Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar will commence in April. In the first phase, seven routes have been finalized, including Hisar to Chandigarh, Hisar to Delhi, Hisar to Jaipur, Hisar to Kullu, Hisar to Ahmedabad, Hisar to Jammu, and Hisar to Dharamshala. He said that the discussions are going on with several other companies in this regard.

The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that developing Maharaja Agrasen Airport as an Integrated Aviation Hub is one of the top priorities of the state government. The works for the second phase of the airport are nearly complete.

He informed that the new terminal building of Maharaja Agrasen Airport will be ready by January 2026. The construction work for the air traffic control tower, the drum on both sides of the runway, and the extension of the terminal building will be completed soon. Maharaja Agrasen Airport will be a world-class airport, putting Hisar district on the global map.

Approval of 32 roads to improve traffic in Bawal: Dr. Banwari LalV

Haryana Cooperation and Public Health Engineering Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal said that the government has approved the strengthening and improvement of 32 roads in the Bawal region to provide better transportation facilities for the people. The estimated cost for the construction and improvement of these roads is around Rs.30.31crores.

Dr. Banwari Lal stated that the government is focused on improving and strengthening the road infrastructure in the state and even efforts are made to connect each district to the national highways. Additionally, communications routes have been expanded for farmers to bring their produce to the markets. Many roads have been constructed in the Bawal region for these purposes, and funds have been allocated for the remaining roads.The construction work of these roads will commence soon.

Dr. Banwari Lal highlighted that the approved roads include link roads, approach roads, and roads connecting to other districts. He specified the allocated funds for various roads, such as Rs.1.37 crores for the Gumina to Bhandor Approach Road, Rs.1 crore for the Balwari to Balwari Temple Road, Rs.1.10 crores for the Khori to Chimnawas Road, Rs.2.30 crores for the Bass Doda Approach Road, Rs.4.15 crores for the Jarthal to Nandrampur Bass Road, Rs.1.10 crores for the Sampli to National Highway 8 Link Road, Rs.1.65 crores for the Bass Doda to Ahrod Road, more than Rs 1.89 crore on village Khijuri to Jonawas road and more than Rs.5.57 crores for the Nandrampur Bass Approach Road.

Dr. Banwari Lal stated that roads connecting Niganiawas to Raliawas Rs. 34.12 lakhs, Hussainpur to Daliaki Road Rs. 70 lakhs, Kanuka to Bhandor Road, Rs. 58 lakhs, Punsika Approach Road Rs.30 lakhs, Khori to Railway Station Road Rs. 90 lakhs, Manethi Approach Road Rs.60 lakhs, Dhani Bhandor to Punsika Road Rs.70 lakhs, and Bharunath Ashram Approach Road have also been approved with estimated cost of Rs.30 lakhs. 

He further said that Rs. 40 lakh will be spent on Kanuka to Santo road connecting Rajasthan border, Rs 60 lakh from Dhamlawas to Shamdhi Sthal, Rs. 31 lakh on Panwar to Rajasthan border (Jat Bhagola) link road, Rs 35 lakh on Panchor to Sampli approach road, Narsinghpur Garhi approach road will cost Rs 25 lakh, Gothra Tappa Khori approach road will cost Rs 75 lakh, Kasoli to Bhagthala road will cost Rs 50 lakh, Ibrahimpur to Bhagthala road will cost Rs 40 lakh, National Highway 8 to village Niganiawas link road will cost Rs 21.78 lakh. Similarly, an amount of Rs 30.53 lakh will be spent on village Nikhri to Niganiawas road, Rs 15.9 lakh on Majri Duda approach road, Rs 57.81 lakh will be spent on Bhatsana approach road with other roads included.  

Seminar on Promoting Safety and Health Awareness in Factories and Establishments

Haryana Labour Department organized a seminar on ‘Creating Awareness on Safety and Health in Factories and Establishments’ in Gurugram. An exhibition displaying the latest security equipment was also organized here. In which various management employees and factory owners were also present in large numbers.

The Seminar was driven by the theme “The Best Investment is Investment in Health and Safety” which was fully emphasized by Sh. Rajeev Ranjan, Principal Secretary to the Government of Haryana, Labour Department.

In his address, Sh. Rajeev Ranjan motivated all the industry owners and Management to make Safety and Health of their workers first priority and highlighted that investing in health and safety not only safeguards employees but also enhances overall business efficiency and productivity of the workers.

The need for making safety as a habit was stressed upon and articulated the Dangers of neglecting the health and safety was through multiple examples. He stated that the tools necessary to achieve workplace safety goals includes quality training, regular inputs on awareness, following best practices at workplace and the use of proper safety equipment.

Sh. Rajeev Ranjan underscored the Labour Department’s initiatives for ease of doing business including the auto-renewal system, transparent inspection policy, and removal of the No Objection Certificate requirement. The mental aspects of safety and health were also stressed upon recognizing their crucial role in a holistic approach to workplace safety.

All the participants were inspired and made commitment for safer and healthier workplaces for their industrial workers. Various technical aspects, safety procedures, precautions and safety in chemical / hazardous industries were discussed by Industry safety experts such as Sh. H. Vishwanathan (Deputy Director General, DGFASLI), Dr. Sanjay Misra, CEO, M/s LCS Services Pvt Ltd, and Sh. B.S. Yadav, Senior General Manager, M/s Hero MotoCorp, Gurugram.

In a ceremony highlighting the commitment to workplace safety, the Haryana Safety Health and Welfare Awards were presented to deserving factory and construction site owners. This accolade recognizes those who have set exemplary standards in safety and health management. The categories for these awards included: Lowest Accident Frequency Rate, Longest Accident-Free Period, Best Welfare Conditions, Best Canteen Arrangements, Best Creche Arrangements, Best Sports Facilities for Workers in Factories, Best Environment in Factory Premises, Best First Aid Arrangements, Best Precautionary Measures.

The seminar was made successful by Labour Commissioner, Haryana Sh. Maniram Sharma, and factory wing officers of Haryana labour Department. Labour Commissioner appreciated the management for their interest and declared that such safety seminars shall be conducted on regular basis in future.

National Voters’ Day to be celebrated in Haryana on January 25

National Voters’ Day will be celebrated in Haryana on January 25. Competitions such as debates, discussions, drawings, skits, songs, paintings, essays, etc., will be organized in all schools and educational institutions under the theme “Nothing like voting, I vote for sure.”

In a circular addressed to Administrative Secretaries of all departments, Heads of Departments, Managing Directors of Boards, Corporations, Deputy Commissioners, Vice-Chancellors, and Registrars of all Universities, Chief Secretary Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal directed that all staff under their control should take the NVD pledge.

Mr. Kaushal mentioned that the Election Commission of India has declared its foundation day as National Voter Day. This day is celebrated every year on January 25 across the country, from the polling station level to the block, assembly constituency, district, and state levels. The main objective is to spread awareness among the general public, ensuring that every eligible citizen is included in the voter list. Various activities such as rangoli making, essay writing, speech competitions, rallies, parade contingents, street plays, etc., are organized by school and college students at block, district, and state levels in collaboration with various government and non-government agencies to promote electoral participation.

He emphasized using the logo of ‘National Voters’ Day’ on official stationery, merchandise, websites, etc. He also encouraged them to upload photographs of the activities on social media handles or websites with the hashtag #NVD2024. Air travel to commence on 8 routes from Hisar Airport in April, agreement signed with Alliance Air: Hry Deputy CM

Air travel is set to commence on eight routes from Hisar Airport. In a significant development, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala, announced an important agreement with Alliance Air during the ‘Wings India 2024’ event held in Hyderabad on Friday. Sh. Chautala expressed his joy, stating that air travel on eight routes will begin from Hisar Airport in April, enhancing regional connectivity. Approvals for routes connecting Hisar to Delhi and Chandigarh were already in place, and now, under a new plan by the central government, connectivity to Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Jammu, Kullu, Dharamshala, and Dehradun will also be initiated.

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister stated that Alliance Air will be a supportive partner for starting air travel from Hisar, and efforts will be made to connect the general public with air travel. He expressed gratitude towards the Government of India and Alliance Air for contributing to the promotion of aviation activities in Haryana.

Sharing more information, Deputy CM, Sh. Dushyant Chautala revealed plans for the development of a Heli-hub in Gurugram covering an area of 30 acres. A proposal has been sent to the central government for the construction of the country’s most modern and largest heli-hub in Gurugram. Sh. Chautala highlighted that the connectivity of Gurugram Heli-hub will extend not only to local areas but also to religious and hilly regions. Apart from this, helicopter taxi services will be made available from here.

Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala emphasized Haryana’s leading role in the aviation sector today, stating that the state government has acquired 10 acres of land from the Indian Army at Ambala Air Force Base. Construction work for a civil enclave is underway, and under the regional connectivity plan, air travel from Ambala is expected to commence in June-July this year.

Sh. Chautala stated that the aviation industry is now a bigger industry than the railways in the country. He mentioned the development of a skydiving activity in Bachhod, Mahendragarh under the central government’s aero sports policy, making it the only skydiving facility in the country. He informed that over 1200 skydiving activities took place in the previous financial year, and the government aims to increase it by one and a half times than last year.

Deputy CM also highlighted the efforts to promote other air sports activities in different regions of the state, including hot air balloon activities at Pinjore Heliport by the Haryana government.

Punjab government committed to providing basic facilities, a clean environment, and people-friendly services: Balkar Singh

          Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan, is committed to providing better civic services to the people of the state. To fulfill this objective, the state government is undertaking development projects across Punjab, as expressed by Balkar Singh, Minister for Local Government.

          Today at Municipal Bhawan, Sector-35, Chandigarh, Minister for Local Government Balkar Singh conducted a review meeting with Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jalandhar, Kapurthala, and Phagwara, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development/General), Jalandhar and Kapurthala. The review included Municipal Council/Nagar Panchayat, Nakodar, Adampur, Alawalpur, Bhogpur, Kartarpur, Nurmahal, Phillaur, Gorayan, Lohia Khas, Mehatpur, Shahkot, Bilga, Sultanpur Lodhi, Bhulath, Begowal, Nadala and Dhilwan. During the meeting, officials were informed about the high level of quality in ongoing works and given instructions to maintain it.

          Member of Parliament Mr. Sushil Kumar Rinku, MLAs, and Constituency Incharges of Aam Aadmi Party participated in this review meeting, where the minister shared detailed information about the funds allocated by the government to the constituencies.

          Local Government Minister discussed various projects under Swachh Bharat Mission, Amarut Mission, such as unutilized funds under Swachh Bharat Mission 1 and 2, availability of space for sewage treatment plants under construction, and space for water treatment plants under Amarut 2. Discussing the current status of ongoing development works, the minister emphasized completing them within the stipulated time frame.

          He urged officials to start work promptly after completing the necessary office processes for approved DPRs. Additionally, he stressed initiating the approval process for other works without delay.

          Regarding issues with space for sewage and water treatment plants, the minister urged quick resolution in coordination with the MLA of the concerned constituency and the district administration for a cleaner environment.

          Cabinet Minister Balkar Singh directed officials to spend unused funds under various schemes promptly, warning of strict action against non-compliance with guidelines.

          He emphasized special attention to sanitation, park maintenance, street lights, and proper disposal of heritage waste.  Minister assured adequate funds for development works and requested a detailed action plan if additional funds were required.

          Cabinet Minister Balkar Singh provided detailed information to MLAs about works under various schemes and the allocated funds. He emphasized establishing contact with MLAs for development works and sharing all information to ensure timely and orderly progress.

          He encouraged officials to resolve any difficulties in development work by bringing them to the attention of the concerned MLAs and district administration for immediate resolution.

Punjab DIPR organizes second religious congregation and Guru Ka Langar to mark Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji

ECI begins a nation-wide awareness programme on EVMs and VVPATs ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha Elections

          Ahead of the General Elections to Lok Sabha 2024, a nationwide awareness programme on Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) is underway to provide citizens with a firsthand experience of the voting process and familiarity with the machines.

          Divulging the details, a spokesperson said that the awareness programme which is organised ahead of every General Election to Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assembly focuses on imparting knowledge about the basic features of EVMs and VVPATs, elucidating the step-by-step procedure of casting votes, and educating voters on how to verify their choices through the VVPAT slip. Awareness through physical demonstration fosters deeper understanding of EVM & VVPAT functionality and is instrumental in dispelling misconceptions, boosting voter confidence and ensuring a more informed and participative electorate.

          He further said that the programme includes outreach and awareness activities in 3464 Assembly Constituencies spread across 613 Districts in 31 States/UTs (other than 5 states that went for polls recently). Over 3500 demonstration centres and around 4250 mobile vans have been set up to physically demonstrate EVM/VVPAT functionality to the public. CEOs and DEOs are also sharing the updates on social media platforms to enhance the outreach of this awareness programme.

CM EXPRESSES PROFOUND GRIEF AND SORROW OVER MARTYRDOM OF AGNIVEER JAWAN AJAY SINGH

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of 23 years old Army Jawan Ajay Singh, who attained martyrdom while performing his duty.

In a statement issued here, the Chief Minister said that Agniveer Ajay Singh, who hailed from village Ramgarh Sardaran near Khanna, attained martyrdom in a landmine blast. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that brave jawan laid his life while performing duty at Jammu and Kashmir. He said that it is an irreparable loss for the country in general and for the distressed family in particular.

The Chief Minister extended his sympathies with the bereaved family of the brave martyr and said that the Punjab government is with the family of Agniveer in this hour of grave crisis. He said that this martyr displayed utmost dedication to perform his duty valiantly adding that the supreme sacrifice of the martyr will ever inspire youngsters. Bhagwant Singh Mann also informed that monetary assistance to be extended to the bereaved family according to the policy of the state government.
