Punjab police review security arrangements at religious institutions across state

IEP CHANDIGARH, April 25      

    In order to ensure security at all the religious places and keeping strict vigil on mischievous elements, Punjab Police on Tuesday conducted a special checking at all such institutions including Gurdwaras, Temples and Churches to review the security arrangements and make sure that closed-circuit Television (CCTv) cameras are installed and working. The checking was conducted in all the 28 Police districts of the state on the directions of Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav.          Special DGP Law and Order Arpit Shukla said that CPs/SSPs were directed to depute one team under additional Station House Officer (SHO) of each police station to visit all the religious places in their jurisdiction and hold security review meetings with the members of management committees.          At least 549 Police teams, involving 2800 Police personnel, carried out checking at as many as 7612 Gurdwaras, 2236 Temples and 795 Churches across the state, he added.          Special DGP Arpit Shukla also urged management committees of all the Gurdwaras, Temples and Churches to always remain alert and vigilant to prevent any untoward incident at their respective religious institutions. He asked them to ensure weekly checking of CCTv cameras to make sure that they are in working condition.          He also advised the management committees to depute security guards at the entry gate of their respective religious places.          Meanwhile, CPs/SSPs are also directed to increase Police Patrolling around all the religious places to intensify surveillance on anti-social elements.

The Martyrs’ Memorial being built in Haryana’s Ambala Cantonment will be unique of its kind in the country

The Martyrs’s Memorial (Shaheed Smarak) being constructed at Ambala Cantonment in Haryana will be one of its kind in the country.  The Martyrs Memorial will give a new identity to innumerable unsung warriors and fighters at the national and international level, since the first freedom struggle of 1857.        Contribution of people of Haryana will be attractively displayed so that the youth can draw inspiration from the life and valor of the martyrs. This monument will have a unique confluence of technology and history. The construction of the Shaheed Smarak is in the final stage and in order to display the information of history in an interesting way, a meeting was held today under the Chairmanship of Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Director General, Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal at Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi with the historians, who are the members of the Shaheed Smarak Nirman Samiti.         It was apprised in the meeting that in the next 15 days, a detailed plan of the memorial will be prepared and shared with all the members of the committee. After taking their suggestions, a final decision will be taken in this regard. Dr. Amit Agrawal said that apart from installing photo panels in this memorial, with the help of light and sound, efforts will be made to display the glorious journey of modern Haryana from pre-history to the present stage journey. He informed that from the first freedom struggle of 1857 to the contribution of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose INA in the freedom struggle and how the people of Haryana endured the tortures of the then British government. He added that all such important historical information will be vividly displayed with a brief description. Dr. Agrawal said that the visitors coming to the memorial will get to know about the rich history of Haryana and it would become a sure ‘destination visit’ for the tourists and locals. He said that major construction work of this monument has been completed and in the next one and a half months the final decision on the material to be displayed in the monument will be taken and the work will be allotted to the concerned agency. He hoped that by the coming October this memorial will be completely ready and open to the general public. Committee member and Chairman, Indian Council of Historical Research, Prof. Raghuvendra Tanwar said that this monument will be unique of its kind in the whole country because of its large size and inclusion of detailed facts related to history. It has also been decided in today’s meeting that all the members should visit the Red Fort Museum and other museums prepared by the Archives Department based on the first battle of 1857. He added that members will explore the gaps which should be incorporated in the Martyrs’ Memorial, Ambala Cantonment.         Col. Yogender (Retd.), member of the committee made a presentation. Renowned historian Prof. Kapil Kumar, Archivist, National Museum of India, Dr. Devender Kumar Sharma, Director and Vice-Chancellor, National Museum Institute, Prof. Dr. Anupa Pandey, former history head of Sanatan Dharma Mahavidyalaya History Department, Dr. Udayveer, Historian, Sh. TajenderWalia, Additional Director of Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Dr. Kuldeep Saini, Haryana Public Works Executive Engineer, Sh. Rajkumar also gave their suggestions.

Administrative Secretaries to upload pending State Acts & Subordinate Legislations on the website of India Code Portal: CS Haryana

Haryana Government has directed all Administrative Secretaries to upload pending State Acts & Subordinate Legislations on the website of India Code Portal in consultation with the Law Department, Haryana within 7 days positively.        In a letter written to administrative secretaries by the Chief Secretary, it has been requested to submit a completion certificate after uploading the necessary document to the office within the stipulated time period.

Officials should promptly redress grievances of common people: J P Dalal

Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Sh. J P Dalal directed the officials to promptly resolve the problems of the general public, while redressing ten out of twelve complaints during the meeting of the district public relations and grievances redressal committee in Sirsa today.        On the complaint of Kavita Rani of Bakrianwali village about taking loan with forged signature, the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister directed the concerned DSP to take cognizance of the matter and action against the bank.        Similarly, on the complaint of shops made illegally by Krishna Kumar Jindal, a resident of Mandi Kalanwali, the Additional Deputy Commissioner apprised the minister that the matter was investigated under which some flaws were found. On this, the Agriculture Minister gave directions to get the matter investigated through State Vigilance.        Meanwhile, on the complaint of non-receipt of compensation for the loss of wheat and mustard crops in Rabi 2021 of Jodhkan, Ding, Mochiwali and Kukar Thana villages, the Agriculture Minister directed the bank officials to make payment at the earliest.        On the complaint of Mandi Dabwali resident Pawan Kumar about illegal possession of his house by his brother, Sh. JP Dalal directed that the police should take appropriate action in this matter and the complainant should meet the Superintendent of Police regarding the same.        On the occasion, Chairman, Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board, Sh. Aditya Devi Lal, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Parth Gupta along with other officials and members of the committee were present.

More than 54 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured in the state

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala has said that more than 54 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured in the state and Rs. 5800 crore has been paid directly to the farmers in their bank accounts. He said that in the next two days, Rs. 9,000 crore will be deposited in the accounts of the farmers after procurement.        The Deputy Chief Minister said that the procurement of wheat was started in the state from April 1, so far 54 lakh metric tonnes has been procured and there is a possibility of buying 20 lakh metric tonnes more in the coming days.        He said that lifting from mandis has been expedited and more than 52 percent lifting has been done from the state mandis. The department has decided to extend it by not buying on Sundays but only by fixing the lifting day.        He informed that not a single farmer has faced any inconvenience in selling crops in the procuring centres. He said that the farmer’s crops are being procured as soon as they arrive. In response to a question, Sh. Chautala said that there has been no confusion regarding the e-tendering system. Panchayati Raj Institutions have started working with e-tendering system. The process is transparent and accountable, he added. In this, the accountability of the contractor and officers has been fixed. He said that the government has increased the power of Sarpanchs from Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh in order to complete the work at the earliest. It can also be extended if needed.        The Deputy Chief Minister on the question of bringing the Indians stranded in Sudan to India, said that the Ministry of External Affairs and the Force are working on this. He hoped that soon action will be taken to bring them back to India. Reacting to the protest by the wrestlers at Jantar Mantar, Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that the Central Government has formed a committee on the demands of players and the investigation is underway. He added that something can be said only after the investigation is done.        On this occasion, Sh. Dushyant Chautala thanked the traders, farmers and labourers that they have procured wheat with excellent coordination and also got it lifted.

Young agricultural professionals should find solutions to address present-day agricultural challenges: President

The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu while chairing convocation ceremonies at National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) Karnal and CCSHAU, Hisar today was delighted that the maximum gold medalists were girls, said the President.

        “Universities should act as laboratories from where knowledge spreads and benefits the entire society and it is a matter of great satisfaction and pride that our daughters are progressing in many fields including agriculture and allied sciences, said the President while speaking at the 25th convocation ceremony held at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hisar.

        The President said at present increasing population, agricultural land shrinkage, depleting groundwater level, decreasing soil fertility, climate change, etc have become major challenges for the agriculture sector.

       “It is the responsibility of agricultural professionals like you to find a permanent solution to tackle these challenges,” exhorted the President.

The President also urged the students to make such devoted efforts so that nutritious food can be made available to our huge population, with minimum damage to the environment and biodiversity.

        “Completing these tasks is both a challenge and an opportunity before you. I have full faith that you will convert this challenge into an opportunity and make the best use of your academic knowledge and experience,” said Smt. Murmu.

        She said that CCSHAU has been making significant contributions in agricultural Education, Research and Extension since its inception. This institute has also played a remarkable role in the success of the Green Revolution and the White Revolution.

She said that the University has so far developed many varieties of crops. About 18000 quintals of high-quality seeds are produced every year for different types of crops. “Today, when the entire world is connected with each other and humanity is facing challenges like global warming and climate change, then international cooperation becomes very important. This Varsity is collaborating with institutions of many countries on subjects related to agriculture,” said Smt. Droupadi Murmu.

She was happy to note that HAU has established an Incubation Centre to promote entrepreneurship through innovation, technology upgradation and skill development.

Congratulating the students, she said that this convocation ceremony is not just an occasion to confer degrees, awards or medals, but also a golden opportunity to accept challenges through acquired abilities and resolve to make our dreams come true.

She said that as a student of agricultural science, they will have the opportunity to use their bookish knowledge practically. Now you will contribute to the development of agriculture along with the ‘Annadata’ (farmer) and will continue to serve the agriculture sector, said the President.

Haryana is the second largest contributor to the central food grains stock

       The President said that if today Haryana is the second largest contributor to the food grain stocks under Central Pool, the credit goes to the farmer-friendly policies of the Central and State Governments, technological initiatives of HAU, and willingness of the farmers of this state to adopt the latest agricultural techniques. 

“I have full faith that the future of Haryana will be even brighter on the strength of the acumen and capability of the hardworking residents of this place.

Using water judiciously is the need of the hour

        The President while highlighting the role of technology in reducing the cost of farming, increasing productivity, and making agriculture environment-friendly and more profitable said that water is an important component of agriculture but it is available in limited quantities. Therefore, judicious use of water in agriculture is very important. There should be maximum use of technology in irrigation so that exploitation of water resources can be minimised, said Smt. Droupadi Murmu.

BHAGWANT MANN GOVT’S UNIQUE EFFORTS ENSURING MULTI-PRONGED DEVELOPMENT OF SCHOOL EDUCATION DEPT

       After assuming power in the state, the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has accorded special attention to provide the qualitative education and health facilities. Under this initiative, the Punjab School Education Department has raised its bar to make students ready for cut-throat competition of contemporary world.          Speaking about this, a spokesman of the Punjab government said that while funds of more than 228 crores have been released by the state government for construction of buildings and other functions of government schools from April 1, 2022 till date along with monetary support for purchase of necessary equipments for schools.          The spokesperson added that the state government has also decided to build 117 Schools of Eminence in the state .          The state government has already issued a notification to regular the services of 8736 employees who were serving on contractual basis since long and a portal has also been initiated for necessary requirements.          The Spokesperson further stated that following the lines of secularism, the State Government has decided to rename the schools, which have been named after caste and community. Similarly, the state government has determined to rename these schools after Freedom Fighters and Martyrs so that our younger generations could take inspiration from these national heroes.          He said that in a first time that a Parents-Teacher Meeting was held in government schools in which more than 15 lakh parents participated. Chief Minister, Ministers, MLAs, Deputy Commissioners and all Divisional Magistrates of the state also attended the Parents-Teacher Meeting.          The Spokesperson said that the Punjab Government has changed the structure of the district level team so that proper assessment of government schools could be done. Apart from this, in order to meet the shortage of teachers in proportion to the number of children, recruitment process is being conducted constantly; at the same time the teachers. He also informed that teachers deputed as BM/DM are also being reverted back to the schools for 100 percent success of this mission.          The spokesperson said that the International Education Affairs Cell (International Education Affairs Cell) has been established to provide global level training to  school education administrators, school heads and teachers working in the Education Department. Till now 66 school education administrators, school heads and teachers get training from Singapore.          Along with this, by starting the Business Blaster Young Entrepreneur Pilot Project, students of 11th and 12th standard of government schools have been given an opportunity to realize their dreams of entrepreneur.          He said that with the necessary amendments in the transfer policy for teachers working in government schools, they were being transferred near to their homes so that they could fulfil their family responsibilities accordingly.          The Spokesperson further added that ‘Partnership Cells’ have also been established in Office of Director State Education Research and Training Council in order to develop synergy with Non Government Organisations.

CM KICKS OFF FIRST OF ITS KIND PROGRAM TO HAVE DIRECT INTERFACE WITH THE YOUTH

In order to make youth an active partner in decision making process of the state, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday kicked off first of its kind program to have direct interface with the youth.

Interacting with the girls students here at Government College for Girls during the maiden program, the Chief Minister said that India is a young nation with sizeable  population below 40. He said that this population can play an active role in nation building provided that their unbounded energy is utilised in a positive manner. Bhagwant Mann said that this program is a step forward in this direction as it will make youngsters an equal partner in social and economic progress of state.

The Chief Minister further said that the state government will soon launch an exclusive electric vehicle based shuttle service for the girls. He said that this service will be launched in the major cities of the state Patiala, Ludhiana, Amritsar and others.  Bhagwant Mann said that this is a step forward towards ensuring best public transport for the girls in these major cities.

The Chief Minister, while exhorting the girls to come forward and play a decisive role in the field of active politics, said that it is need of hour for ensuring effective decision and law making process in the state. He said that politics has impact on every field of life and if the girls come forward in this field then they will definitely play a key role in the progress and prosperity of the country. Bhagwant Mann said that girls are an asset for the society and they can also prove to be efficient lawmakers too adding that during the 2022 assembly polls 11 women MLAs had registered massive victories from their party.

The Chief Minister said that out of these 11, two lawmakers have been elevated as Ministers in his cabinet also. He said that apart from it for the first time in the history of the state five women SSPs and seven women DCs have been appointed in different districts. Bhagwant Mann said that six exclusive women Police stations have been established in the state adding that very soon all the districts will have such Police stations.

Expressing satisfaction over girls outshinining boys in every arena, the Chief Minister said that this reflects the wave of empowerment of women. He said that it is a moment of great pride that girls are clearing these competitive exams with hard work and dedication. Bhagwant Mann envisioned that it will bring a qualitative change in the society.  

The Chief Minister also batted for equal opportunities for the girls in every field. He said that the results of academics and even jobs reflect that girls are outnumbering the boys in every field. Bhagwant Mann said that this momentum must be continued by encouraging the girls to excel in every field.

Appealing to the parents to give wings to ideas and innovations of the youth, the Chief Minister said that it will help them to scale new heights in their life. He said that every new invention faces hostility and is opposed by the world. However, he said that later on these inventions become a routine part of our lives and pave the way for development of society. Bhagwant Mann said that parents must encourage their wards for new initiatives so that they can achieve success in life.

The Chief Minister said that attaining marks or high percentage should not be the only goal of the students. But, he said that the aim of education must be to ensure holistic development of the students. Bhagwant Mann said that the students should also be thankful to their parents and especially teachers for grooming them for further competitions.

The Chief Minister said that Punjabis are blessed with an indomitable spirit to work hard and excel due to which they had carved a niche for themselves in the world. He unequivocally said that a person does not rise overnight as hard work and sincerity is the only key to success. Bhagwant Mann said that every individual must discharge their responsibility with utmost professional commitment, dedication and sincerity.

CONGRESS GOVERNMENT HAD GIVEN AROUND 8000 JOBS TO YOUTH IN FIRST YEAR WHEREAS INCUMBENT GOVERNMENT HAS GIVEN 28873 JOBS

 Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday said that his sincere and honest government has given 28873 jobs to youth in one year whereas the previous Congress government had given around 8000 jobs in its maiden year. Addressing the gathering in a function organised here at Municipal Bhawan to hand over appointment letters to the 409 newly recruited Sub Divisional Officers (SDOs), Clerks, Junior Draftsmen and others in Local Government, PWD, Technical Education and General Administration department, the Chief Minister said that due to callousness of previous regimes government job was earlier a ‘distant dream’ for the youth of the state where as his government has ensured that youth get the jobs as per their merit for which a transparent mechanism has been evolved. He said that the earlier government lacked the commitment and zeal to serve the masses in true sense due to which these jobs were far away from the youth. However, Bhagwant Mann said that within a year of formation of their government they have given 28873 jobs to the eligible youth completely on merit basis. The Chief Minister reiterated that this venue has witnessed a number of such events in which youth have got jobs in various government departments. He said that this reflects the commitment of the state government to ensure the well being of youth and opening new avenues of employment for them. Bhagwant Mann said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction for him that all the youth will become active partners in social economic progress of the state. Interacting with the youth, the Chief Minister asserted that they should follow the dictum of ‘duty is duty’ and discharge it with utmost dedication, hard work and commitment. Congratulating the newly recruited employees of the state government for getting the job, he said that it is a red letter day for them as they have become a new member of the family of state government. Bhagwant Mann said that their name will be written in golden letters in the annals of history as they will be part of the campaign to restore the pristine glory of the state. The Chief Minister said that as runways at the airports facilitate an Airplane for its smooth take off in the same manner the state government is helping the youth to realize their dreams. He asserted that every effort is being made to give wings to the ideas of youth and no stone is being left unturned for this noble cause. Bhagwant Mann made a fervent appeal to youth to make all out efforts for carving an identity of their own to make a place in society adding that sky’s the limit for them. The Chief Minister asserted that Punjabis are born leaders as they are blessed with the qualities of entrepreneurship and leadership. He said that due to these qualities the Punjabis have always carved a niche for themselves across the globe. Bhagwant Mann emphasized that Punjabi entrepreneurs have made huge empires from humble ideas and have proved their mettle in every arena. Making a scathing attack on the opposition parties, the Chief Minister said that those who were living in palatial houses during their heydays of power have been ousted from the political scene of the state. He said that the state has witnessed the dawn of a new era as these people who were considered invincible have been shown the door by the people. Bhagwant Mann said that due to this a change has been witnessed in Punjab and for the first time people centric decisions have acquired centre-stage in the process of governance. The Chief Minister quipped that these people living in big palaces had never bothered about the well being of the common man and had confined them in high walls of their residences. However, he said that when people got the chance they outrightly rejected them and formed a government that works for the well being of the state. Bhagwant Mann said that ever since assuming the charge of office his government is making strenuous efforts for the progress of the state and prosperity of its people. The Chief Minister asserted that he is the votary of the fact that the democracy with diverse ideas and views is always a successful one. Bhagwant Mann said that a garden which has a variety of flowers soothes the eyes of everyone due to which people throng to see it. In the similar manner, he said that the homogeneity of all the religions and sections are important for a progressive society. The Chief Minister also said that the state government is mulling to move to court for recovery of Rs 55 lakh from the former Ministers who have signed the file to ensure cozy stay of a dreaded criminal from UP Mukhtar Ansari in Ropar Jail. He said that this is brazen loot of the public money which cannot be tolerated at any cost. Bhagwant Mann said that for reasons best known to the previous regimes this notorious criminal was kept in Ropar Jail with full comforts for which Rs 55 lakh were spent from the taxpayers money.  Later, the Chief Minister also launched a placement portal/ mobile app of the Technical Education department to apprise the youth about new vistas of employment. On the occasion Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO, Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua and others were also present.

CM BHAGWANT MANN LED PUNJAB GOVERNMENT SETS ALL TIME HIGH RECORD OF MSP PAYMENT

      The Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government has made an all time high record of MSP payments to the tune of ₹11,394 Crore to the farmers by 23rd April, 2023 beating it’s own record set last year after it came into power.            Sharing these details, Mr. Lal Chand Kataruchak, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister said that ever since the current Punjab Government took charge, the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has adopted a strong pro-farmer stance which is backed by facts and figures.           Elaborating further, the Minister said that the data of farmer payments up to 23rd April in the past years shows that this year ₹11,394 Crore has been released directly into the bank accounts of the farmers till this date which is higher than the earlier record of ₹11,288 crore set last year. Prior to that the highest payments by this date were in the years 2018-19, 2013-14 and 2017-18 when ₹7568 crore, ₹6745 crore and ₹6418 crore had been disbursed.            The Minister said that during 2020-21 and 2019-20 the farmers had not even received ₹300 crore by this date whereas in the year 2015-16, payments had not even started. This is a testimony to the honest efforts of the present State Government in improving the wheat procurement operations and eliminating corrupt practices, he said.            The Minister added that the present Government is adopting proactive approach in disbursing Kharaaba or absorbing the value cut imposed by the Centre on the MSP, added the Minister.
