Sarthak School in Panchkula becomes a role model

As a result of Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal’s efforts to provide quality education in government schools, the Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector-12, Panchkula has become a role model in the entire state. Every student wants to study from this school.

          According to the school’s Principal, Dr. Pawan Gupta, at present about 2400 students are enrolled in this school. He said that at the time of admission in classes I, VI, IX and XI great enthusiasm among both the students and parents can be seen. A lot of competition is also seen among the students for getting admission in this school. Admissions are done through draw of lots, added Dr. Gupta.

          He informed that the scheme started by the Chief Minister, for the last seven-eight years to change the education of government schools, whether it is related to infrastructure or staff, has certainly brought positive changes in the schools. Along with studies, the students of this school are also performing well in sports up to the national level, added Dr. Gupta.

          He said that the students are also taking advantage of the government’s Super-100 programme. This programme is a boon for the students preparing for JEE, NEET and National Defense Academy. Now they don’t have to spend Rs. 4 to 5 lakh to get coaching for these exams, as under this programme, free coaching is provided with hostel facility. This time also eight students of this school have pre-qualified.

          Dr. Gupta further shared that in this school four streams are available for class XI and XII students namely  Arts, Commerce, Medical, Non-Medical. According to the rules of the Central Board of Secondary Education, only 240 seats are available for admission. Teaching staff is also very hardworking. He himself supervises the school and takes classes.

        Dr. Gupta said the popularity of this school is no less than any biggest reputed schools in Haryana. Now even students from Chandigarh are taking admission in this school.

        Khushi from Sector-26, Palak Sharma from Barwala, Naveen from Chandigarh, Abhay Rana from Sector-19 shared that they have filled the admission forms for this school and are now waiting for the draw of lots.

Haryana CID Chief hands over Rs 50 lakh cheque to wife of late Inspector

Haryana CID Chief and ADGP Sh. Alok Mittal gave a cheque of Rs 50 lakh to Smt. Prem Kumari, wife of late Sh. Jaiveer Singh, Inspector in his office here on Thursday.

          Sh. Jaiveer Singh lost his life in a road accident near Julana last month. He was posted as a Police Inspector in the CM’s security. The Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal also paid a visit to his residence and consoled the family members.

          While condoling the family members, Sh. Alok Mittal offered Ex-gratia appointment as per the government policy to his ward.  He also urged them to provide the best educational opportunities to the wards of the deceased. This would be a real tribute to the departed soul. Conveying his heartfelt condolences, he said that Sh. Jaiveer would be long remembered for his commitment and services to the Police Department.

          The financial assistance is given to the dependent under an agreement of accidental death insurance cover where the salary account is maintained with the HDFC bank.

          Among others present on this occasion included DIG/CID cum DIG/Railways and Commando Sh. Shashank Anand, SP Commando Sh. Vinod, Zonal Head HDFC Sh. Manish Manglesh, Nodal officer of HDFC Sh. Vipin Gupta and family members of late Sh. Jaiveer.

Chief Secretary arrives at the National Sculpture Workshop organized at HPTI Madanpur

A sculpture camp is being organized at HPTI Madanpur from June 25 to July 10 by the Art and Cultural Department, Haryana, courtesy of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited.

          Interacting with the artists from all over the country in this camp, Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal said that the sculptures being built in the camp will prove to be a milestone in the history of art making.

          After honouring the artists, he said that they have enriched Haryana with their artistic and creative performance.

          Presiding over the event, Additional Chief Secretary, Power Department, Sh. PK Das said that the power companies of Haryana have created a record of revenue due to their efficient management, under which we are running various campaigns under the CSR scheme. Library construction, plantation and establishment and operation of sports nurseries in villages of Haryana are creative initiatives.

          Appreciating HVPNL, he said that the Managing Director, Sh. TL Satyaprakash has set a living example of creativity by going a step further. For the first time in the history of Haryana, a women sculptors’ camp was organized, which is being jointly led / coordinated by HVPNL and Art Cultural Department.

          On this occasion, Principal Secretary, Art and Cultural Department, Sh. D Suresh said that this workshop is an important achievement of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The arts produced in this camp are a blend of Indian heritage and Haryanvi culture.

          Sh.TL Satyaprakash said that the camp has been organized by the institute. The horizon of art has expanded on the land of Haryana with the sculptures made in the camp. Managing Director, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Dr. Saket Kumar said that by organizing such camps, the common man gets an opportunity to get acquainted with Indian pride and heritage. On this occasion, Director General, Higher Education, Sh. Rajiv Ratan, Director General Secondary Education, Sh. Anshaj Singh and Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula, Sh. Mahavir Kaushik were also present.

Cabinet Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar takes reign of Local Govt, Parliamentary Affairs, Conservation of Land & Water and Administrative Reforms Departments

Known for his professional commitment, Punjab Cabinet Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar on Wednesday took reign of Local Government, Parliamentary Affairs, Conservation of Land & Water and Administrative Reforms departments in the presence of the Cabinet Ministers Harmeet Singh Meet Hayer, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and Laljit Singh Bhullar at Punjab Civil Secretariat.

Dr. Nijjar, while extending words of thanks to the party and Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, assured that he would wholeheartedly fulfill the responsibility entrusted upon him. “It was a matter of pride to have the opportunity to serve the people of the state and I assured the Punjabis to provide them with the ultra-modern civic amenities”, said the Minister, adding that we are common people thus know the difficulties of the common folk. He said that Chief Minister S. CABINET LED BY CM GIVES MAJOR RELIEF TO PEOPLE BY ACCORDING FINAL APPROVAL TO 600 UNITS OF FREE POWER TO EVERY HOUSEHOLD PER BILLING CYCLE

In a major relief to all the households across the state, Punjab Cabinet led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today gave final approval for the policy governing the decision to provide 600 units of free power to every household per billing cycle in the state with effect from July 1, 2022. 

          A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the Council of Ministers held here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister at second floor in the Punjab Civil Secretariat- I on Wednesday.

          Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the Chief Minister’s Office said that all the domestic consumers in the state will be eligible to get zero bills if their consumption is upto 600 units in every billing cycle. This will give a big reprieve to the domestic consumers who have to hitherto shell out huge money every month in form of power tariff. As per the decision Scheduled caste (SC), Non SC BPL and Backward Class (BC) domestic consumers who are currently eligible for free 400 units (per billing cycle) of power will also get subsidy of 600 units now. 

          Likewise, Freedom fighters of Punjab and their successors (upto grandchildren) domestic consumers who are currently eligible for free 400 units of power will also get subsidy of 600 units per billing cycle. In case, consumption of SC, non-SC BPL, BC and Freedom Fighter categories exceeds units per billing cycle then they will pay only for units consumed in addition to 600 units along with full fixed charges, meter rentals and government levies as applicable. 

          Similarly, the Cabinet also gave green signal for waiving off pending arrears of all the domestic consumers as on December 31, 2021 and unpaid upto June 30, 2022. This move will give relief to around 28.10 lakh domestic consumers with a total benefit of Rs 1298 crore.

DSP FARIDKOT LAKHVIR SINGH HELD FOR ACCEPTING Rs 10 LAKH BRIBE FROM DRUG SUPPLIER

Reaffirming the firm commitment of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to make Punjab a Corruption-free state, Punjab Police on Wednesday arrested Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Faridkot Lakhvir Singh for accepting Rs 10 lakhs as a bribe from a drug supplier for not nominating him in the FIR registered under NDPS Act in Tarn Taran, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here.

          The development came after the Tarn Taran district police had arrested a drug supplier identified as Pishora Singh from a petrol pump near Patti Morh after recovering 250grams opium and Rs 1 lakh drug money from his possession on Sunday. Accused Pishora, a resident of village Model Boparai in Tarn Taran was wanted in the FIR dated June 30, 2022, in which his aide Surjit Singh of village Mari Megha in Tarn Taran was arrested with 900grams of opium.

          Divulging details, DGP Gaurav Yadav said that during investigations by the Tarn Taran Police, Surjit revealed that he had purchased opium from Pishora, who is the main drug supplier.

          “When Police started conducting raids to arrest him, Pishora tried to bribe Patti CIA Incharge by offering Rs 7-8 lakhs through ASI Rashpal Singh (posted as MHC CIA Patti), in lieu of not arresting and nominating him in this case, but the Incharge refused to accept the bribe,” he said while adding that the Police teams continued their efforts to arrest Pishora.

          Later, Pishora met Rashpal Singh’s brother Hira Singh through his acquaintance Nishan Singh of village Sito in Tarn Taran, and together they approached DSP Lakhvir, who also happened to be the cousin of Hira Singh, where the DSP negotiated the settlement at Rs 10 lakhs to help the drug supplier, said the DGP, adding that the accused DSP instructed Hira to keep the amount with him.

          On the disclosure of Pishora Singh, the Police have also recovered Rs 9.97 lakhs from the house of Hira Singh, he said.

          Reiterating the commitment of the Punjab Government to make Punjab a corruption-free state, DGP Gaurav Yadav unequivocally said that any Police officer/official found indulged in corruption will not be spared. 

          Giving more details, SSP Tarn Taran Ranjit Singh Dhillon said that the Police have also nominated ASI Rashpal Singh, Nishan Singh and Hira Singh in the FIR and raids are being conducted to nab them.

          Meanwhile, sections 7, 7-A, and 8 (1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, sections 213, 214, and 120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and sections 29 and 59 of the NDPS act have been added in the FIR, which was initially registered under sections 18,61,85 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Bhikiwind in Tarn Taran.

CM ANNOUNCES TO REDUCE TRAINING PERIOD OF NEWLY RECRUITED PATWARIS

In order to enhance the efficiency of the Revenue department, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today announced to reduce the training period of newly recruited Patwaris.

          Addressing the gathering during a function to distribute District Allotment letters to newly recruited 855 Patwaris here at Municipal Bhawan, the Chief Minister said that the reduction in training period will enhance the efficiency of the Patwaris working in the field thereby facilitating the common man. He said the state government is committed for streamlining the affairs in each and every department for ensuring that people don’t face any problem. Bhagwant Mann said that this is need of hour for the progress of the state and prosperity of its people.

          Striking an emotional chord with the new recruits, the Chief Minister said that they must use their pen for delivering service to people in a fair and transparent manner. He said that the Patwaris must dispense their services honestly so that people don’t face any problem. Bhagwant Mann expressed hope that Patwaris will stay grounded and serve the people with utmost professional commitment.

          Congratulating the Patwaris, the Chief Minister said that it is result of their hard work, consistency and commitment. He said that the youth who have worked hard deserve this post as they have cleared the cut throat competition totally on merit basis. Bhagwant Mann said that more such transparent recruitments are in pipeline and will be completed soon.

          Making a scathing attack on the previous governments, the Chief Minister said that though his government is taking path breaking initiatives for public welfare in its initial days but his predecessors didn’t do such work even at the fag end of their tenure. He said that his government has in a few days done works which have not been accomplished in last 75 years. Bhagwant Mann said that he will continue to serve the people with the same passion and missionary zeal in coming times too.

          The Chief Minister said that people get elated with every passing day due to pro-people and growth oriented policies of the state government. Bhagwant Mann said that people of Punjab have bestowed huge responsibility on him and he will discharge this zealously. “People of Punjab are very happy since formation of our government as with dawn of every day deserving people get the jobs and corrupt ones get jail”, he added.

          In his address Revenue Minister Brahm Shankar Jimpa welcomed the Chief Minister. He also congratulated the newly recruited Patwaris for their selection in the department. Brahm Shankar Jimpa also informed about the revolutionary initiatives been taken by the department.

          On the occasion Financial Commissioner Revenue Anurag Aggarwal, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Ravi Bhagat, Special Secretary Captain Karnail Singh and others were also present.

Canteen is proving to be a boon for poor and needy people, says Haryana Chief Secretary

Community kitchens run by various departments in Haryana are proving to be a boon for the poor and needy persons. Through these canteens, people are getting nutritious food at affordable rates. At present 100 canteens are being run by different departments in the state. These canteens are being operated by Self Help Groups formed under Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission. Now the government has planned to open more such canteens in the state.

        This information was given during the 8th meeting of the Executive Committee of Haryana State Rural Livelihoods Mission (HSRLM) held here today under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal. The meeting approved the action plan of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission, Deendayal Upadhyaya-Gramin Kaushalya Yojana and Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI) for the year 2022-23, on which about Rs. 220 crore will be spent.

        The Chief Secretary said that Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has a vision that no poor and needy person should go hungry in Haryana and during the COVID-19 pandemic; Atal Kisan-Mazdoor Canteen was started from Karnal for the poor. People are taking full advantage of these canteens. Taking this effort forward, the number of these canteens should be increased further.

        It was informed in the meeting that Haryana Agricultural Marketing Board is running Atal Kisan-Mazdoor Canteens at about 25 places to provide affordable food to farmers and labourers, where farmers and labourers are getting enough food for just Rs.10. Apart from this, such canteens are being run by 3 Government Colleges, 5 Mini Secretariats, 5 Sugar Mills, 9 Government Offices and 26 BDPO Offices and at 9 places by Labour Department. Apart from these, 9 canteens are being run by the Health Department, where food is being provided to the patients and their families.

        It was informed in the meeting that a target has been set to form 15,000 self-help groups this year under HSRLM Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission. Apart from this, a target has been set to enroll members of Self Help Groups under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, to set up an agri-nutrition garden and to set up 5,000 enterprises under the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme.

        It was informed in the meeting that 1,889 members of self-help groups have been trained under the Rural Self-Employment Training Institute (RSETI) scheme through Indian Institute of Banking and Finance and they are being appointed by various banks. Apart from this, 9,663 Self Help Groups have been developed as a separate enterprise, which are earning Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 12,000 per month today through various works.

        It was informed in the meeting that under the Aajeevika Gramin Express scheme, 149 commercial vehicles have been provided to the women of self-help groups by way of interest free loan of Rs. 5.41 crore. With the help of these vehicles, the income of the groups is increasing and they are earning from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 18,000 per month.

        It was informed in the meeting that under RSETI, skill training is provided to rural youth as per the demand of the industry. This year 768 youth have been provided training and 545 have been provided employment. Apart from this, training is being given to 1,931 youth.

        In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Dr. Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary, Labour Department, Sh. Raja Sekhar Vundru, Additional Chief Secretary, Women and Child Development Department, Dr. G. Anupama, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Sh. Vijayendra Kumar, Director, Employment Department, Sh. Anshaj Singh, Director, Rural Development, Sh. Dhirendra Khadgata, Chief Executive Officer, Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission, Dr. Amarinder Kaur and Heads of other departments were present.

Haryana will set up a Centre of Excellence for Breed Development of Animals in collaboration with Brazil: Haryana Animal Husbandry Minister JP Dalal

Haryana will establish a Centre of Excellence for the development of animal breeds in collaboration with Brazil.

        This information was given by Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister, Sh. JP Dalal in Brazil.  He said that the Gir Association of Brazil has expressed willingness to import Murrah buffalo germplasm from Haryana State through Haryana Livestock Development Board.

        A delegation led by Sh. Dalal is on a visit to Brazil and today in the Brazilian city of Brasilia this delegation met the President of the Gir Association, Professor Jose Fernando and his team members. The Indian Ambassador to the Indian High Commission, Sh. Suresh Reddy was also present in the meeting.

        During the meeting the delegation discussed with the members of Association of Brazilian Zebu Breeders  (ABCZ) the modalities for setting up of Centre of Excellence for Gir Animals in Haryana and got information.  The delegation visited Motam Gir Hut Farm in Alexandrio District near Brasilia which is one of the largest Gir Farm with more than 1,500 good quality Gir Cows.  The delegation inquired about the dairy practices followed in breeding, nutrition and agricultural management practices and studied them.

        Sh. Dalal met Mr. Jean Marcel Fernandes, Secretary of Trade and International Relations, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supplies of Brazil and had very fruitful discussions.  They agreed to further strengthen mutually beneficial ties in the areas of dairy development and cattle breed improvement, including exchange of information and experiences, technologies such as Embryo Transfer Technology (ETT) and In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF), joint research and exchange of genetic material and germplasm.

        During the meeting both sides also agreed to cooperate in setting up a Centre of Excellence in Haryana.  Sh. Dalal also invited a delegation from the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture to visit Haryana to take these forward and explore new areas of cooperation in agriculture, forestry and aquaculture.  In the meeting they also agreed to engage with both sides through diplomatic missions located in Brasilia and New Delhi.

        In Uberaba, Sh. Dalal held a meeting with the ABCZ and visited Alta Genetics, a state-of-the-art animal genomics company.  They welcomed their interest in expanding cooperation for mutually beneficial partnerships in animal husbandry and allied sectors. Sh. Dalal also visited the Embrapa Animal Dairy (Embrapa Gado de Leite) Research Center in Juiz de Fora and discussed areas of cooperation.

        The delegation included Chairman, Haryana Livestock Development Board, Sh. Randhir Singh Golan, Chairman, Haryana Warehouse Corporation Sh. Nayan Pal Rawat, Chairman, Haryana Forest Development Corporation, Sh. Dharampal Gondar, Commissioner and Secretary, Haryana Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, Sh. Pankaj Aggarwal and other officials.
