Farmers express gratitude to Agriculture Minister for Increasing Sugarcane SAP

Chandigarh:

In a major relief to sugarcane growers, the Haryana Government has enhanced the State Advised Price (SAP) of sugarcane by Rs. 15 per quintal, reaffirming its commitment to farmers’ welfare. With this revision announced by Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana has now become the state offering the highest sugarcane price in the country. The SAP for the early maturing variety has been raised from Rs. 400 to Rs. 415 per quintal, while that for the late maturing variety has increased from Rs. 393 to Rs. 408 per quintal.

Several representatives of farmers’ organizations from various parts of the state met Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana today to express their gratitude for this historic decision.

Welcoming the decision, the farmers said that the increased SAP would help balance their rising input costs and provide economic relief.  This has proved to be a Diwali gift for us. The government has shown that it stands firmly with the farmers, said the farmers.

Sh. Shyam Singh Rana said that the increase in sugarcane prices reflects the government’s strong commitment to ensuring that farmers receive the best value for their hard work. Under the leadership of the Chief Minister,  Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana continues to be a leading state in safeguarding farmers’ interests and promoting their development.

Haryana Government and SVCL sign Rs 100 Crore Contribution Agreement for Atmanirbhar Startup Venture Fund

Chandigarh:

Haryana Industries & Commerce Department and SIDBI Venture Capital Ltd. (SVCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of SIDBI, today signed a Contribution Agreement (CA) for capital commitment of Rs. 100 crores to Atmanirbhar Startup Venture Fund, a SEBI-registered Category-I Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) – Venture Capital Fund (VCF) managed by SVCL, having a target corpus of  Rs. 250 Crores.

During the recent interaction with the Startups and prominent industrialists in September 2025, Chief Minister,  Sh. Nayab Singh Saini reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to providing comprehensive support and a robust platform for startups, with a vision of positioning Haryana a global hub for innovation and scripting a new chapter of prosperity through entrepreneurship.

In line with this vision, the Contribution Agreement was signed by Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal, Commissioner & Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, on behalf of the Government of Haryana, and Sh. Arup Kumar, Managing Director and CEO, on behalf of SIDBI Venture Capital Ltd. (SVCL).

This initiative is in line with the Budget Announcement of the Government of Haryana for the creation of a dedicated Venture Capital Fund to promote entrepreneurship and support youth in establishing start-ups in terms of financial assistance as well as developing market linkages. The Fund targets scalable, sustainable start-ups across diverse sectors, including AI, health-tech, agri-tech, clean energy, and more. It supports market access, business growth, and tech adoption, while encouraging private sector participation and institutional investment for start-ups in Haryana.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in Haryana’s journey to becoming a leading hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, and reflects the Government’s commitment to building a vibrant start-up ecosystem in the state.

During the signing, Sh. Yash Garg, Director General Haryana Industries & Commerce Department along with officials from SIDBI Venture Capital Ltd. (SVCL) – Sh. Kiran Poojary, Asst. Vice President and CS and Ms. Pradnya S., Senior Investment Associate, were also present.

Haryana Chief Secretary Reviews Preparations for Nationwide ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’

Chandigarh:

Haryana Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi today reviewed the arrangements for the two-month-long nationwide campaign – ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’ being organized to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The review meeting was held in accordance with the communication received from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and the office of the Union Minister of Labour and Employment and Youth Affairs. The Chief Secretary directed officials to ensure active participation of all universities, colleges, technical institutes, and schools across the state in this landmark national programme.

As part of the celebrations, district-level padyatras will be organized across Haryana on October 31, 2025, coinciding with Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, followed by a 10-day national padyatra — ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’ — from November 26 to December 6, 2025.

The initiative, led by MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, aims to promote national unity, patriotism, and civic responsibility among India’s youth. It also seeks to inspire them to embrace the ideals of ‘Ek Bharat, Atmanirbhar Bharat’, echoing Sardar Patel’s vision of a strong and united India.

The Chief Secretary emphasized that District Core Committees (DCCs) should be established in all districts to plan and coordinate padyatras efficiently. Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, the committee shall consist of Retired IAS officers, District Youth Officers, Programme Officers, NSS, MY Bharat representatives, and public representatives such as MPs or MLAs and line Departments.

At the Directorate level, Sh. Raj Kumar, Additional Director, has been designated as the State Nodal Officer for coordination, while at the district level, principals of government ITIs will serve as District Nodal Officers to oversee the smooth execution of activities and ensure wide youth participation from Youth Empowerment & Entrepreneurship Dept, Haryana.

The campaign will be initiated by District Youth Officer (DYO), MY Bharat at all districts and all the departments will coordinate with him/her. The DYO, MY Bharat will be the member secretary and will oversee the entire arrangements of the Padyatra. 

The ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’ is part of the broader Viksit Bharat Padyatra initiative, inspired by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Jan Bhagidari’ (people’s participation) in ‘Rashtranirman’ (nation-building).

The campaign underscores the pivotal role of the Amrit Peedhi—the youth of the Amrit Kaal—in carrying forward Sardar Patel’s legacy of unity, integrity, and strength. The Chief Secretary urged all departments and institutions to extend full cooperation to make this national celebration a grand success.

Preparations in full swing for Shri Kapal Mochan – Shri Adi Badri Mela 2025

Chandigarh, October 24 – Preparations for the Shri Kapal Mochan – Shri Adi Badri Mela 2025 in Yamunanagar district of Haryana are in full swing. Administrative and departmental teams are working round the clock to ensure that the lakhs of pilgrims visiting the holy site face no inconvenience. The entire fairground is being illuminated with LED lights, and special emphasis is being laid on security and cleanliness.

Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson said that all preparations for the Mela are in their final stage. Cleanliness work has been completed for the convenience of pilgrims, and regular sprinkling of water will be done on roads to prevent dust. To facilitate smooth movement, e-rickshaw services will operate from VyasPur to the Mela venue. Besides this, the Transport Department is arranging extra buses to ensure easy access for pilgrims arriving from various parts of the state.

The spokesperson further said that the Electricity Department has installed new poles and transformers in the Mela area. Permanent LED lighting has been arranged around the three sacred ponds, Kapal Mochan, Rin Mochan, and Surajkund, ensuring adequate lighting throughout the day and night. The lighting arrangements will not be limited to the Mela period but will continue to attract visitors throughout the year. In addition to the deployment of police personnel, over 100 CCTV cameras and a drone surveillance system will be used to keep a close watch over the entire Mela area, the spokesperson added.

The spokesperson said that for pilgrims’ convenience, the Mela will also have permanent and temporary toilets, drinking water facilities, medical camps, adequate availability of food, proper barricading, road repair, and well-coordinated police arrangements, all of which are being completed on schedule.

Haryana to become a water smart state; Government to introduce new law for water conservation: Public Health Minister Ranbir Gangwa

Chandigarh, October 25: Haryana Public Health Engineering and Public Works Minister, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa, said that the State Government is committed to providing clean, adequate, and uninterrupted water supply to its citizens. To prevent wastage of drinking water, address leakage issues, and promote water conservation, the government is diligently working on bringing a new act.

Sh. Ranbir Gangwa was addressing a press conference during the closing ceremony of the two-day workshop organised by the Public Health Engineering Department at Panchkula.

Sh. Gangwa said that the objective of the proposed Act is to promote water conservation and ensure uninterrupted water supply to citizens. He informed that the draft of the Act has already been prepared and will soon be presented before the Assembly for approval. The Minister appealed to the public to support the government’s efforts in conserving water and avoid its wastage.

Sh. Gangwa said that this was the first workshop of its kind organized by the department, in which officers from the level of JE to EIC participated. During the workshop, participants shared their technical experiences and discussed ways to improve service quality. Experts from IIT Roorkee also guided the officers on technical aspects. The workshop focused on enhancing technical efficiency, improving water quality, ensuring transparency in project execution, modern water management, sewerage and flood control, he added.

He further said that the government aims to provide urban-level facilities in villages as well so that residents do not have to migrate to cities for their needs. Under the Mahagram Yojana, 148 villages with a population of more than 10,000 have been identified. Out of these, water supply, sewerage, and STP systems have been completed in 17 villages, while work is in progress in 30 others and within the next two years, all villages under the scheme will be equipped with facilities comparable to those in urban areas.

Sh. Gangwa said that the department has been directed to prepare a comprehensive action plan to address the problem of waterlogging after the monsoon season. He said that making Haryana a ‘Water Smart State’ is our commitment, in line with Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Har Ghar Nal Se Jal’. Expressing confidence, he said that with the collective efforts of officers, employees, and the public, Haryana will emerge as a leading Water Smart State in the country, a model that other states will follow.

Responding to a question Sh. Gangwa said, strict directions have been issued to avoid manual cleaning of sewerage systems to prevent any mishaps during such work. Officers have also been directed to prepare a long-term plan for sewerage and drinking water supply keeping in mind the requirements of the next 30 years.

Responding to another question, he said that under the Jal Jeevan Mission, important works such as setting up water works, replacing pipelines, and establishing boosting stations are being carried out in villages. There is not a single village in the State where development works worth Rs.1 to Rs. 5 crore have not been undertaken. Currently, 55 percent of the water supply in Haryana is tube well-based, while 45 percent is canal-based.

Government takes strict action over irregularities in millet procurement process; officials of Kanina and Kosli mandi suspended

Chandigarh, October 24 – The Haryana Government has taken strict action to ensure transparency in the ongoing millet procurement process by suspending officials from two mandis. The action was taken after discrepancies were found between the e-procurement portal and the H-register of the Market Committee in the New Grain Market, Kanina and Grain Market, Kosli, along with irregularities in the gate pass issuance process.

Divulging more details in this regard, an official spokesperson informed that as per the orders issued by the Chief Administrator, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Manoj Parashar, Secretary-cum-EO of New Grain Market, Kanina, and Narender Kumar, Secretary-cum-EO of Grain Market, Kosli, have been suspended with immediate effect.

In addition, in the case of issuing fake gate passes using different IPs in Market Committee Karnal, action has been taken against three officials. Hardeep and Ashwani, Mandi Supervisors, and Satbir, Auction Recorder, have been suspended with immediate effect.

The spokesperson shared that the government has clarified  that no negligence or irregularity in any process related to farmers’ interests will be tolerated. The state government is continuously monitoring mandis to ensure transparent and fair procurement, and strict directions have been reissued to all concerned officials to maintain full diligence at every level during the procurement process.

Haryana to Emerge as Hub of Industrial Development: Rao Narbir Singh

Chandigarh, October 25: Haryana’s Minister of Industries and Commerce, Sh. Rao Narbir Singh, said that no country in the world can achieve development without industries. To give a new identity to agrarian Haryana through industrial progress, the state government has prepared a comprehensive industrial roadmap for the next five years. Under this plan, ten new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) will be developed, two of which will be located around Gurugram.

He further announced that on the occasion of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, a Global Investment Summit will be organized in Gurugram, inviting investors from across the world to set up industries in Haryana.

The Minister said that Gurugram has now evolved into a true Global City, reflecting not just a miniature India but a miniature world. The aim, he said, is to make it a model city for industrial growth and environmental balance. Under the “Green Gurugram Campaign,” large industrial companies will be encouraged to contribute through their CSR funds to achieve this vision.

Sh. Rao Narbir Singh informed that the Forest Department has prepared a plan to develop all nurseries in Gurugram and Sohna as model hi-tech nurseries. These nurseries will grow plants that can be transplanted across the city after one or two years. He added that Haryana will study modern nursery models in South India and replicate similar advanced facilities in the state.

Boost for New Enterprises — Rs 5064 Crore Sanctioned Under PMEGP

The Minister stated that the government is committed to implementing the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) more proactively to provide financial assistance to new enterprises in the form of loans. In the financial year 2024–25, more than 761 cases have been approved, and a total loan amount of approximately Rs 5064.40 crore has been sanctioned through banks.

Sh. Rao Narbir Singh said that Haryana has been a pioneer of the Green Revolution, and now the time has come for it to become a symbol of the Industrial Revolution. He emphasized that agriculture and industry are complementary sectors, and both are being advanced simultaneously.

Under the PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme, more than 1300 applications have been approved, which will not only promote food processing industries but also create new employment opportunities in rural areas.

PUNJAB GOVERNMENT TO EMBARK SERIES OF EVENTS TO COMMEMORATE THE 350TH MARTYRDOM DAY OF SRI GURU TEGH BAHADUR JI FROM DELHI ON SATURDAY

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and National Convener of Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal will participate in the religious congregations being organised by the Punjab government on Saturday (October 25) to mark the beginning of series of events to commemorate the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Punjab government said that the state government will perform an ardas at Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Delhi on October 25 to start these events aimed at perpetuating the rich legacy of the ninth Sikh Guru, Hind Di Chadar- Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. In the evening a Kirtan Darbar will be held at Gurdawara Sri Rakab Ganj Sahib in which Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal will pay obeisance. In this Kirtan Darbar eminent Ragis like Bhai Amarjit Singh Taan, Bhai Anantbir Singh, Bhai Chamanjit Singh Lal, Bhai Joginder Singh Riar, Bhai Davinder Singh Sodhi, Bhai Jaskaran Singh and others will perform live Kirtan.   

Pertinently, under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the state government has already chalked a number of events to commemorate this once in a lifetime event across the state in a befitting manner. On the historic occasion of the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji, the Punjab Government will organize grand and historic events. These series of events will be organized with deep reverence and respect across the state and these historic events will primarily take place on the sacred land of Sri Anandpur Sahib under the auspices of the state government.

The underlying message of the series of events will be to encourage the people to follow the high ideals of secularism, humanism and spirit of sacrifice as preached and practiced by the Ninth Guru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, who had laid down his life to protect the right of freedom to worship and preserve human rights along with secular values. The supreme sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji was unique and unparalleled in the history of mankind and symbolized the crusade against injustice, tyranny and oppression. The Bani of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji in Sri Guru Granth Sahib preaches oneness of mankind, universal brotherhood, valour, righteousness and compassion.

These series of events organised by the state government will be a real homage to the great Sikh Guru and inspire the people to follow their teachings in true spirit. The life and philosophy of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji is a lighthouse for the entire humanity adding that these events will help in perpetuating this glorious legacy on one hand and further cementing the ethos of communal harmony, brotherhood and peace. The motive of these events is to ensure that the glorious heritage of the great Guru Sahib is perpetuated to the future generations.

Mock session to be held on 26 Nov tentatively to impart political knowledge to students in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Says Speaker

Chandigarh 24 October 2025:

Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan held a state-level online meeting with the district education officers of the state to conduct mock session for students in Punjab Vidhan Sabha on 26 November 2025 tentatively.

 Speaker informed that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is making historic reforms in the education sector. He said that government schools are being converted into smart schools, vacant posts of teachers are being filled and new efforts are being made to provide quality education to the students.

He said that the Punjab government is going to take important steps to provide political training to students along with their education. He said that a mock session will be held in Punjab Vidhan Sabha by selecting one student from each Vidhan Sabha constituency in order to make students aware about how political dispensation works, how laws are made, where the budget comes from etc. In this mock session, selected students of government schools will participate.

 He disclosed that only if the students have a proper understanding of politics, they can go ahead and elect the right representative. He said that about 2400-2500 students from government schools have visited the Punjab Vidhan Sabha so far.

SPECIALIZED COMMITTEE TO STUDY COST-EFFECTIVE FLOOD PROTECTION MODELS: BARINDER KUMAR GOYAL

Chandigarh, October 24:

Punjab Water Resources Minister Sh. Barinder Kumar Goyal today directed that a special committee be constituted to visit other states and study innovative as well as economical flood protection techniques suitable for Punjab’s topography.

Chairing a high-level meeting at the Committee Room of the Irrigation Building, the Water Resources Minister said that such comparative studies would help in adopting cost-efficient and practical methods to strengthen the state’s flood management infrastructure. He issued strict directions to the department for timely completion of all flood protection and desilting works ahead of the next monsoon season. The Minister reviewed the ongoing and proposed measures for flood prevention and effective water management across the state.

Taking up the matter of recurring flooding in Baupur Island, the Cabinet Minister expressed concern over the hardships faced by local residents and instructed the department to work out suitable technical solutions to provide permanent relief. He also reviewed the situation in waterlogged areas and asked officials to plan and execute long-term projects to ensure sustainable mitigation.

Sh. Goyal stressed that all flood protection works must be executed with full diligence and completed well before the onset of the next monsoon season. He directed officials to ensure close monitoring of field execution and timely completion of tendering processes.

While discussing the desilting programme, the Cabinet Minister stressed that field execution should commence at the earliest to ensure the natural flow of water through rivers and drains. He further directed that plantations and other obstructions from river courses must be removed without delay. Officials informed that notices have already been issued to those responsible for encroachments.

The meeting also reviewed the status of breach repair works undertaken during recent floods. The Water Resources Minister lauded the dedicated efforts of field officers and district administrations for executing these works swiftly and effectively.

Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included Principal Secretary Sh. Krishan Kumar, Chief Engineer (Drainage) S. Hardeep Singh Mendiratta, Chief Engineer (Designs) Mr. Vijay Kumar Garg and senior officers of the department.
