Hry Chief Minister criticizes opposition’s discontent over swift service delivery

IEP Chandigarh, September 7

Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, while taking a dig at the opposition, said that the opposition leaders are not liking the way the present state government is providing the benefits of government schemes to the eligible beneficiaries of the state in a quick and transparent manner. Opposition leaders have even begun asserting that if they were to come into power, they would dismantle the family ID and portal systems. From this it appears that neither they want the development of the state nor the welfare of the people.

The Chief Minister engaged in a direct conversation with villagers during a Jan Samvad held in Mirzapur village within the Barwala assembly constituency in Hisar district today.

Mr. Manohar Lal stressed that instead of merely distributing freebies, the present government is focused on empowering individuals to become self-reliant, enabling citizens to live with dignity. Targeting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), he said that AAP wants to bake its political bread on the Sutlej Yamuna Link Canal issue, but the state’s residents will not allow their nefarious designs to succeed. AAP leaders talk about offering free services to the people, but the public is discerning.

He said that the current state government has abolished the practice of obtaining jobs through recommendations and financial influence, a system that had been in place for the past decade. Instead, the government has initiated a merit-based approach to job placements through its “Mission Merit.” Mr. Manohar Lal presented data from Mirzapur village, where 56 jobs have been awarded on a merit basis, including 15 Central Government posts. Employment fairs are being organized for eligible families, and out of the 211 eligible families in Mirzapur village, 63 individuals have received loan approvals, with action being taken for the remaining applicants.

To boost self-employment opportunities for women, the Chief Minister said that counter facilities will be made available at the district headquarters to provide a bigger market to the products made by the SHGs.  This initiative will provide SHGs with the opportunity to sell their products one or two days a week, thus expanding their market reach.

Mr. Manohar Lal highlighted that with the Family ID system, 44 residents of Mirzapur village have received pensions sitting at home over the last six months. In reference to the Ayushman Yojana, the Chief Minister informed that over the past year, 251 individuals from Mirzapur village have benefited from the scheme, with the government expending Rs. 1.10 crore on their medical treatment.

During the Jan Samvad program, pensions for old-age individuals were processed on-site for six people, and the Chief Minister personally presented pension cards to each recipient. The program also addressed various demands from Sarpanchs of neighboring villages in Mirzapur. He also announced various developmental projects including establishing a village secretariat in Raipur, a school up to Class XII in Dhani Raipur, community centers in Shikarpur, Mayyad, Dhansu, Nyana, Kharkadi and community centre and rajwaha (water course) in Mirzapur. In addition, he assured the residents of Talwandi Rana village that they would get a way within a month.

The Chief Minister instructed the District Social Welfare Officer to provide electric tricycles to differently-abled individuals with functional hands enabling them to move independently.

MP Mr. Brijendra Singh, Deputy Speaker of Vidhan Sabha Mr. Ranbir Gangwa, MLA Mr. Jogi Ram Sihag, Sarpanches and officials of district administration were also present on this occasion.

MLA Balraj Kundu launches Haryana Jansevak Party

Balraj Kundu, independent MLA from Meham assembly seat of Rohtak district, launched his new political party by holding a press conference at Hotel Mount View here today. The name of his newly established organization is Haryana Jansevak Party. He launched the party after getting wide feedback from the people of the state. The leader said that he would reveal his party’s strategy at a massive rally in Jind on November 1.

Balraj Kundu said, “We will not forge an alliance with JJP, BJP or Congress. His thinking is to give a new option to the people of Haryana. Our youth are falling prey to drugs and the crime rate has increased a lot. There is no one to listen to the pain of farmers. Insurance companies are dealing arbitrarily with the farmers. Compensation has not been given for the last two years. Even after depositing the premium, money is not given, nor is the premium being refunded. Insurance companies have committed a scam worth thousands of crores and this is not possible without the instigation of the state government. That is why I have formed this party to save Haryana.”

The state government has committed huge loot in the name of electricity. Bills have started rising due to the installation of a speed meter. This is very wrong. Seeing all these things I decided to form a new party. The present government of the state has not done anything noteworthy in the last nine years, rather crimes have doubled from before. If compared with the previous government in the state, debt has increased five times, inflation has increased four times and unemployment has increased three times. Asha workers, work instructors, and clerks are all on strike, whose condition has not been inquired about.

He said that the present government is avoiding its accountability, which is why it refused to discuss all the demands and proposals raised by the opposition in the House before the Assembly session. These included the demands of honorarium of Asha workers, compensation to farmers, security of temporary workers, sarpanchs, panchs, district councilors, contract teachers association, traders, sportspersons, representatives of Dalits and backward classes, etc., which did not get attention.

He said that the BJP-JJP government of Haryana has itself admitted in the Assembly that the unemployment rate in the state has reached 8.8%. The unemployment rate which was 2.9% in 2013-14 has reached around 9.0% today. The unemployment rate at the national level is 4.1% i.e. unemployment in Haryana is more than double the national average.

Despite being adjacent to the national capital, Haryana is still struggling with unemployment. The youth are worried, while 2.02 lakh posts are lying vacant in government departments. Instead of making recruitments, the government is carrying out scams like paper leaks and paper copying. By rigging the CET, the future of the youth is constantly being pushed back.

He said that thousands of unemployed youth are turning to drugs and crime. The condition of crime is such that Haryana has been considered the most unsafe state in the country in the Central Government’s Social Progress Index. The condition of crime in Haryana is such that the crime rate has doubled from 16.02 to 31.8.

He said that unnecessary information is being collected from the public in the name of family identity cards. There are so many problems in PPP and people are running around the offices to get them fixed. Similar mistakes have been made in Property ID. In this, the landlords were shown as the tenants and the tenants as the landlords. However, the government did not take action against the companies which committed irregularities on such a large scale.

Kundu said that the government is continuously cheating the farmers. The government itself accepted in the Vidhansabha that the compensation of Rs 1303 crore to the farmers has been pending for 3 years. This is the figure which has been accepted by the government. Farmers have been waiting for compensation for many seasons. The farmers have not yet received compensation for the floods that occurred in the past.

Ambala will get flight soon, Rs 133 crore transferred to Defense Estate Officer’s account for Civil Enclave land: Home Minister Anil Vij

IEP Chandigarh

Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil Vij today said that Ambala will soon get a flight and in this direction, an amount of Rs 133 crores has been transferred to the account of Ambala Defense Estate Officer by the Haryana government for 20 acres of land to establish a Civil Enclave along with Ambala Air Force Station today.  Vij said that he is determined to start the flight service from Ambala soon and the transfer of Rs 133 crore to the Defense Estate Officer will now speed up the upcoming process for this project. He said that soon a terminal will be constructed for the Civil Enclave adjacent to Ambala Air Force Station at a cost of Rs 16 crore. He said that a Civil Enclave is to be established in Ambala under the RCS UDAN program and now the formalities for acquiring land for the airport have been completed.

It is noteworthy that due to the efforts of Home Minister Anil Vij, Civil Enclave is being established along with the Air Force Station in Ambala. It was a challenging task to get availability of 20 acres of land along with the Air Force Station for the Civil Enclave in Ambala. The vacant land of Military Dairy Farm was declared technically suitable by the Airport Authority of India and other departments. This land was under the Defense Ministry and the Civil Enclave could be built only when the land was handed over to the state government. This was a challenging task and Home Minister Anil Vij completed this challenging task to transfering an amount of Rs 133 crore to the Defense Ministry for 20 acres of land by the Haryana Government.

The terminal of Civil Enclave in Ambala will be constructed on the land of Military Dairy Farm, right next to the Air Force Station. After checking-in at the terminal, passengers will be taken by bus to the aircraft inside the Air Force station. Only the runway of the Air Force station will be used for take-off and landing of planes.

It is noteworthy that it is proposed to name the airport to be built in Ambala Cantonment as “Amba Airport Ambala Cantonment”. In this regard, Home Minister Anil Vij has recently sent a proposal to Chief Minister Manohar Lal in which it has been suggested to name Ambala Airport as Amba Airport Ambala Cantonment. Ambala district was named after Amba Devi and there is also a temple of Amba Devi in Ambala. This ancient temple has special significance.
