Haryana’s Economy to Get a Boost as Goods Sheds Come Up in Every District

The Union Ministry of Railways is establishing goods sheds in every district of Haryana under the ambitious PM Gati Shakti – National Master Plan. This strategic move is expected to significantly boost the state’s economy, enhancing trade and logistics across the region.Haryana Government has taken the decision to appoint a senior officer at the state level from the Public Works (Building and Roads) Department to facilitate seamless coordination with the Ministry of Railways to ensure the successful establishment implementation of this project.This decision was taken during a meeting focused on “Synergizing Railways,” which was chaired by the Chief Secretary, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal here today. The Additional Deputy Commissioner and Executive Engineer of PWD (B and R) will coordinate and supervise the smooth functioning of goods sheds within their respective districts, added Mr. KaushalThe Chief Secretary said that the setting up of these goods sheds will have a transformative impact on Haryana’s transportation network, leading to increased trade and commerce within the state. He re-affirmed the state government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the successful execution of this strategic move. In the last three years, 72.01 million tonnes of cargo has been moved from Haryana, which signifies the thriving state economy.Indian Railways has also undertaken the comprehensive revamping of 29 railway stations in Haryana, envisioning them as vibrant centers of economic activity for the respective cities and towns where they are situated.Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works (Building and Roads) Department, Mr. Anurag Rastogi and Engineer-In-Chief, Mr. Rajeev Yadav and other officers were also present during the meeting.

Services of Technical Education Department provided by Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University, Sonipat, now under the purview of the Haryana Right to Service Act, 2014

Chief Commissioner, Haryana Right to Service Commission, Sh. T.C. Gupta said that strenuous efforts are being made to increase the ambit of notified services under the Haryana Right to Service Act, 2014.        Recently, 4 services of the Technical Education Department have been notified under the Haryana Right Services Act, 2014. These include Issuance of Degree Certificate, Detailed Marks Card, Migration Certificate and Transcript Certificate. All these services have been on-boarded on the Auto Appeal System (AAS), for Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University, Sonipat.        The RTS timeline of Issuance of Degree Certificate, Detailed Marks Card and Migration Certificate within a span of 15 days. Furthermore, Transcript Certificate will be ensured within the timeline of 30 days from the date of application.        Sh. Gupta further said that if the University fails to deliver these four services within the RTS timeline, the complaint will automatically be escalated to the First Grievance Redressal Authority automatically on behalf of the citizen.          There are 656 services notified under the Act which has defined a timeline along with appellate authorities. Any citizen can check the list of these notified services on our website (www.haryana-rtsc@gov.in). It was mentioned that 403 services pertaining to 36 different entities have now been on-boarded on AAS.

Mutation will be ensured within 10 days of registry – Haryana Minister

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that the government is making strenuous efforts to ensure that government welfare schemes reach to the last person, in which success is also being achieved.        In the last three and a half years, whether it was the Covid phase or the farmer’s movement or any other movement, we never deviated from our aim of ensuring public service.        Earlier, farmers used to stay in the mandis for several days to sell their crops and would not receive money for months. But now the crops are being procured immediately and payments are also disbursed in the accounts of farmers within 72 hours. Now the farmers have the facility to report crop damages on e-Kshatipurti portal.        Sh. Dushyant Chautala was visiting Kharkhoda constituency of Sonipat district on Thursday. During this he addressed public meetings in more than 6 villages.    

    On this occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister announced that Sonepat would be made the first district in the state, in which within ten days after the registration of the land, the papers etc. would be prepared and reach directly to the concerned person’s house. Work is being done in this direction.        Sh. Dushyant Chautala while talking to the media persons informed that the government has given the power to the Deputy Commissioners that they can give compensation for the houses in case of flood. Along with this, he informed that directions have been given to assess crop loss.He further said that now one does not have to visit the offices to get ration cards, but people with an annual income of Rs. 1.80 lakh can get their card from CSC.

People’s representatives and eminent citizens should publicize welfare schemes and services, so that maximum can avail the benefits, says Haryana CM

The Manohar Lal-led State Government time and again has been taking several initiatives to bridge the gap between the government and the public. From starting the ‘Sarkar Apke Dwar’ programme to holding direct Samvad with eminent citizens and the local representatives, the Chief Minister is leaving no stone unturned in taking direct feedback from the general public about the ongoing development works, plans and works to be done in the future.        In this direct Samvad, the Chief Minister not only takes Vidhan Sabha-wise information about the work being done on the ground but also addresses on-the-spot grievances raised by the public. So far, Sh. Manohar Lal has held meetings with people’s representatives and eminent persons of 6 Lok Sabha constituencies and has quickly redressed most of the grievances by issuing directions to the top officers attached to the Chief Minister’s Office and administrative secretaries of various departments under one roof.        Meanwhile, continuing this series, today the Chief Minister had a meeting with public representatives and eminent citizens of Karnal Lok Sabha constituency. Notably, so far the Chief Minister has covered 54 Assembly Constituencies and plans to cover all 90 assembly constituencies by the end of July.        “Eminent citizens and officers are the team of the government and act as a bridge between the public and the government. Programmes could not be held in the field due to heavy rains in the past few days. The government along with NDRF, SDRF, Army, Police and NGOs has carried out relief work in the flood-affected areas with promptness. Eminent citizens should also cooperate with the administration in such an emergency and work in the public interest,” added Sh. Manohar Lal.        The Chief Minister said that usually there is a myth among the people that officers at the Chandigarh headquarters delay in clearing the files, but breaking this myth a transparent system has been made in which every single file or application reaches the CMO and is scrutinized. Not only this, the person who has sent an application or complaint is also informed about his demand and problem, added Sh. Manohar Lal.        During the meeting, the Chief Minister sought suggestions from the local representatives and eminent citizens, Indri MLA, Sh. Ramkumar Kashyap said that such meetings must be held at least once in three months.        Sh. Manohar Lal said that people’s representatives along with eminent citizens should publicize the schemes and services of the government among the masses, so as to ensure the maximum number of beneficiaries can take advantage of these schemes. The state government has made such a system through the Parivar Pehchan Patra, due to which the eligible citizens are getting the benefits of the schemes, said the Chief Minister.        In the meeting, the officer of the School Education Department apprised the Chief Minister that in every school where there are up to 100 students, recruitment on one post of Group D will be done and approval has also been given to keep the employees associated with EDUSAT on a full-time basis.  Group D posts will also be filled through Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam.        The Chief Minister was further apprised that the amount of the old age allowance scheme will now be paid through an Aadhaar-based payment system.        MLAs, Sh. Forensic Science University Campus to be Built in Panchkula

The National Forensic Science University is set to establish its new campus in Panchkula. A meeting was convened on Thursday, where Speaker Haryana Vidhan Sabha Sh. Gian Chand Gupta, along with Mayor, Kulbhushan Goyal, and senior officials of the state government discussed the allocation of land for the campus.        The meeting was attended by Home Secretary T V S N Prasad, Director General of Police P K Agrawal, Haryana Urban Development Authority Chief Administrator Ajit Balaji Joshi, Deputy Commissioner Panchkula Dr. Priyanka Soni, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sachin Gupta, and various other dignitaries.        Home Secretary T V S N Prasad apprised that he is in constant touch with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the Vice Chancellor of the University to establish the campus of National Forensic Science University located in Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat, in Panchkula. The project will require 50 acres of land for the new campus. In the interim period, classes can commence in any suitable building until the new infrastructure is constructed.        A temporary space of 50000 square feet will be needed to initiate classes, and a team, led by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Priyanka Soni, has been formed to identify a suitable location. This team comprises officers from the Home Department and Haryana Urban Development Authority, along with Panchkula DCP and Joint Commissioner of Municipal Corporation. Several potential sites, including Sector 26 Polytechnic, NIFT, Agro Mall, Saket Hospital, and various community centers, are being considered for this purpose.        To assess the building and land, a faculty team from the National Forensic Science University will soon visit Panchkula. Home Secretary TVSN Prasad expressed confidence that classes can begin within the next three months.        Speaking about this development, Speaker Vidhan Sabha Sh. Gian Chand Gupta noted the significant growth of large-scale institutions in Panchkula over the last about nine years. These institutions have contributed to the city’s enhanced reputation, and the robust infrastructure has paved the way for more such prestigious establishments. He emphasized that the new campus of the National Forensic Science University will create employment opportunities for the youth and will benefit Panchkula as well as the entire region. He said that the establishment of such institutions also boosts the economy.

PUNJAB POLICE ARREST MEMBER OF LAWRENCE BISHNOI GANG; PISTOL RECOVERED

     Amidst the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure state as per the vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Police’s State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) on Wednesday arrested a member of Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, who was making threat calls and demanding extortion from affluent persons in Mohali, Chandigarh and adjoining areas.          The arrested accused identified as Kashmir Singh alias Bobby Shooter (24), a resident of village Ghangroli in Patiala was working as a taxi driver. The Police teams have also recovered one country-made pistol along with two live cartridges.          AIG SSOC SAS Mohali Ashwani Kapur said that following several reports of extortion attempts and threatening phone calls made by an individual claiming affiliation with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Police teams launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter. With the assistance of advanced intelligence gathering, the police were able to apprehend Bobby from District Khanna, he added.          Divulging details about the modus operandi, AIG Kapur said that Kashmir alias Bobby used to make extortion and threat calls to affluent persons including owners of night clubs and bars in Chandigarh, Mohali and other adjoining areas.          Pertinently, a case FIR No 10 dated 24-06-2023 was already registered under section 25-54-59 of the Arms Act at Police Station SSOC SAS Nagar. 

1438 villages in 19 districts affected by flood in Punjab

      As part of its commitment to provide succour to the beleaguered people in accordance with the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the State Government machinery has plunged headlong to mitigate the situation created by floods in the state.          To speed up the relief operations in the state and as per the directions of CM Bhagwant Mann, 26482 persons have been evacuated and taken to safe places. A spokesperson informed that 1438 villages have been affected by the flood till 8 am on July 19. A total of 155 relief camps are running in the state in which 4234 people are staying.          Currently, 19 districts are affected by floods including Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, Kapurthala, Patiala, Moga, Ludhiana, SAS Nagar, Jalandhar, Sangrur, SBS Nagar, Fazilka, Gurdaspur, Mansa, Bathinda and Pathankot.          According to the report received by the revenue department from different districts, a total of 38 people have lost their lives due to floods in the state and 15 injured while 2 are still missing.          As per the information received from the animal husbandry department, a total of 2331 animals treated and 7940 animals vaccinated in the state. Rescue teams of the department are working round the clock to provide treatment, supply feed, fodder and silage to the needy animals. Special flood relief camps are also being organised in affected districts.          On the other hand, the teams of the health department are working in the flood-affected areas with full attention. According to the spokesperson, 465 Rapid Response Teams (RRT) have been working at flood affected areas. The health department has set up 263 medical camps in the affected areas.          He further informed that dry food packets are being continuously distributed in the flood affected areas. 22,641 dry food packets have been distributed in Rupnagar, 64000 in Patiala, 4400 in SAS Nagar, 5700 in SBS Nagar and 2200 in Fatehgarh Sahib..

Silver Medalist Weightlifter calls on Punjab Speaker

          Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan today met exceptional weightlifter Amarjeet Guru, who won Silver Medal in weightlifting in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship-2023 held at Noida, recently.

          Amarjeet Guru, son of Raj Kumar from village Gunachaur (SBS Nagar), has exhibited remarkable dedication and skill in the field of weightlifting for the past 13 years. His hard work and relentless pursuit of excellence have earned him a well-deserved place among the top weightlifters in the nation.

          During the meeting at the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretariat here, S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan commended Amarjeet Guru on his extraordinary achievement at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship. He lauded Amarjeet Guru’s commitment to the sport and expressed his pride in witnessing a young athlete from Punjab shine on the national stage.

          During the interaction, S. Sandhwan assured Amarjeet Guru of full support and encouragement for his future endeavours. He said that the Punjab government is committed to promoting and uplifting talented athletes like Amarjeet Guru and providing them with the necessary resources to excel on international platforms.

PUNJAB CM JOINS SANGAT AT BAPU LAL BADSHAH JI’S MELA AT NAKODAR

 Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday paid obeisance at Darbar Almast Bapu Lal Badshah ji and sought blessings from Darbar to further achieve the goals for unprecedented development and progress of the state and prosperity of its people. On the occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the huge rush of devotees (sangat) converging at the darbar and committee on the annual congregation to mark Almast Bapu Lal Badshah Ji’s mela. Bhagwant Mann also prayed for the welfare of all sections of the society besides seeking blessings to serve the people of Punjab for more zealously. He said all of us should celebrate such historic and religious occasions together by rising above petty politics, caste, colour and creed.  The Chief Minister further said that as Punjabis are blessed with indomitable spirit to face colossal challenges and successfully emerge from them, so the present flood situation will also normalize shortly with joint efforts of all, who were putting their efforts round the clock in flood hit areas.  Bhagwant Mann said Punjab is a land of saint, seers, prophets and great martyrs adding that Punjabis are sons of soil, who have learned a lot from teachings of great Gurus and sacrifices of our patriots. He said that the current crisis amid floods in several parts of the state will be over soon as Punjabis had joined hands to help out people facing distress due to natural calamity. The Chief Minister said Punjabis were well-known to help others in trying circumstances across the globe so the current tough time will also be overcome in a short span of time. He said this is not the first time, when Punjab is facing such a situation as the state has a glorious history of combating such adversaries. However, Bhagwant Mann with the blessings of almighty all these problems will be definitely contained. Pointing out further, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said people of Punjab had given opportunity to them for taking wise and pro-people decisions. He assured that his Government is taking all decisions in the larger interests of Punjab and its people besides putting the state on a high growth trajectory. Bhagwant Mann also emphasized that all of us should be always connected with our roots as the trees having deep roots in soil never fell in any situation. The Chief Minister said his Government is working sincerely with utmost transparency and commitment to make Punjab a frontrunner state in all sectors. He said that the pristine glory of the state will be restored at all costs and the state government has already started getting results on this count. Bhagwant Mann said that strenuous efforts of the state government will give further impetus to development and prosperity of the state. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister and others also partook the langar. PUNJAB VB NABS DSP FOR TAKING BRIBE OF RS 20 LAKH IN 2019 MURDER CASE

      Amidst the ongoing anti-corruption drive, Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Wednesday arrested a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sushil Kumar for taking a bribe of Rs 20 lakhs for re-nominating a person— who was given a clean chit, in a 2019 murder case of Mahant Dayal Das. The latter was shot dead by two unknown persons at Dera Baba Harka Das in village Kotsukhia in Kotkapura on November 7, 2019.          Following this, the murder case was registered at Police Station Sadar Kotkapura against two unknown persons and Sant Jarnail Das Kapurewale and others on the complaint of Sant Gagan Das, who is a disciple of Sant Baba Haridas. Later, accused Sant Jarnail Das was given a clean chit by DSP HQs Moga Ravinder Singh.          Divulging details, a official Spokesperson of the VB said that Punjab and Haryana High Court summoned IGP Faridkot Range Pardeep Kumar Yadav to file affidavit in this case. Thereafter, the IGP had constituted a special investigation team (SIT) headed by SP (D) Faridkot Gagnesh Kumar comprising members including DSP Faridkot Sushil Kumar, DSP Baghapurana Jasjot Singh and SI Khem Chand.          He said that in November 2022, SP Gagnesh Kumar, DSP Sushil Kumar and SI Khem Chand had demanded Rs 50 lakh as a bribe from Sant Gagan Das to re-nominate and arrest Sant Jarnail Das Kapurewale and to help him (Gagan Das) in this case. The deal was settled at Rs 35 lakh and the said officers had already taken Rs 20 lakh in two instalments— Rs 15 lakh and Rs 5 lakh on November 9, 2022 and November 22, 2022.          The spokesperson said that following the investigations, the Police teams from Vigilance Bureau Ferozepur Range have arrested DSP Sushil Kumar, who is presently posted at 3 IRB, Ludhiana. The accused DSP will be produced before the Court on Thursday, he added.
