Health check-ups being done to citizens under Nirogi Haryana Yojana, says Hry CM

Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today attended a programme jointly organized by Bharat Vikas Parishad and Jain Samaj in Panipat and distributes artificial limbs, wheelchairs etc to Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).        Addressing the people there, the Chief Minister said that several steps have been taken by the State Government to provide every possible help to the PWDs. He said that apart from increasing the budget for the welfare of PWDs, the government has also distributed artificial aids worth about Rs. 8 crore to PWDs in the last eight years. In addition, Rs 44 crore has also been made available to various NGOs, shared Sh. Manohar Lal.        He further informed that the present government is also bearing all the expenses of 15 centres being run by the Red Cross for PWDs. The government has also run 45 Bal Ashram, in which provision has been made for the education of orphans till the age of 18 years. Not only this, the state is also bearing the entire academic expenditure and other expenses of the children in the age group of 18 to 25 years, shared Sh. Manohar Lal.        He said that under the Harihar Yojana, the government has made provision for offering jobs in Group C and D for orphan youth and the government also pays house and marriage expenses of such children.        Haryana’s Paralympian Deepa Malik is an inspiration for all as she has brought laurels to the state by winning a medal in Paralympics, said Sh. Manohar Lal. The Chief Minister lauded the Bharat Vikas Parishad and Jain community for making pivotal contributions to the upliftment of PWDs and bringing them into the mainstream.        Sh. Manohar Lal said Nirogi Haryana Yojana is implemented for families having income less than Rs. 1.80 lakh. Initial medical check-ups are being conducted of all such families for an early diagnosis of any medical ailment.        Rajya Sabha MP, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar, MLA, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, Sh. Pramod Vij, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Sushil Sarwan, and various dignitaries and office bearers of Bharat Vikas Parishad and Jain Samaj also remained present in the programme.

Haryana police reunited 105 missing children, 110 adults with families during first week of ‘Operation Smile’

Haryana Police have achieved success in reuniting 105 missing children and 110 adults with their families during the first week of ongoing ‘Operation Smile’.Sharing the information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that of the total, 84 missing children were traced and reunited by district police teams and the remaining 21 were reunited by the Anti Human Trafficking Units (AHTU) of State Crime Branch. Similarly, 97 missing adults were traced by district police teams and 13 were traced and reunited by AHTU teams.The police teams have also rescued 80 beggars and 107 bonded labourers who were found begging or doing odd jobs for their livelihood. Our teams have been working relentlessly to bring back smile on the faces of families whose children have gone missing, he added.A month-long special campaign “Operation Smile” is being carried out against human trafficking in the state in the month of April. Under this drive, missing children and adults are traced and reunited with their families. Furthermore, through the campaign, the police aims to raise awareness about the issue of human trafficking and encourage people to report any suspicious activity related to human trafficking. Apart from the missing, the state police also rescuing bonded laborers and child beggars.In order to make the drive a success, child welfare officers, anti-human trafficking units and senior officers of the state police posted in all the police stations are personally monitoring the entire operation and daily reports are being taken about the work done by the teamsDescribing human trafficking as a heinous crime, he said that this evil is affecting thousands of people every year in the country. The state has revealed several cases of human trafficking in recent years. Haryana Police is determined to root out this menace at all levels. The month-long campaign against human trafficking is part of efforts to combat this crime. The spokesperson urged the people to immediately report any suspicious activity related to human trafficking to the police on its emergency helpline number 112. The identity of the informer will also be kept confidential. In the drive, those minors will also be rescued who are either working as domestic servants or child labour in small industries or are begging at railway stations and bus stands.O.P. Singh, Addl. DGP directed all Anti Human Trafficking Units working under the State Crime Branch to visit all shelter homes in other states to find out the children living there and belonging to Haryana. There are many children who have wandered to other states and are not able to tell their home address due to the language barrier. Apart from this, the District Superintendents of Police have also instructed all the SHOs and police post in-charges in their respective districts to work relentlessly on the said mission. In addition, establish close coordination with the District Child Welfare Officer’s office so as to get information about the children working in factories and hotels. Find human traffickers, child labourers, and other forms of abusers.According to the DGP Haryana Sh. P.K. Agrawal, the officers of all the districts have been instructed to form special teams. The said team will be headed by a DSP level officer so that the benefits of the special drive reach the masses. Since children are the future of this country and a sensitive section of our society, therefore, it is necessary to take precautions and only then better counseling of children can be done. At present, apart from the districts, our 22 anti-human trafficking units are also working to find clues about the family of missing children/persons.    

Foreign delegations assures security and cooperation to International Indian students

Foreign Cooperation Department of Haryana launched a new initiative of the bilateral talks and exchanges the ideas with their best practices in Haryana-Saskatchewan.  Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh. Gian Chand Gupta said that the State Legislative Assembly has been made completely paperless by successful implementation of the  NeVA (National e-Vidhan Application). This initiative will not only expedite the procedure but also brings transparency in legislative assembly proceedings.        Sh. Gian Chand Gupta said this while exchanging various initiatives and functioning of Haryana Legislative Assembly with foreign delegations during Haryana-Saskatchewan Legislative Exchange-2023 programme here today. Foreign delegations led by Speaker of Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly, Mr. Randy Weekes, Deputy Speaker, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa, Haryana MLA’s of opposition and Principal Secretary, Foreign Cooperation Department, Sh. Anurag Agarwal and Advisor to Chief Minister for Foreign Cooperation Department, Sh. Pawan Kumar Choudhary were also present.        The Vidhan Sabha Speaker further said that digitization is the biggest need of today’s era. With the initiative of e-Vidhan Sabha, the proceedings of the House, including agenda notices, bulletins, bills, starred and unstarred questions and their answers, documents to be laid on the table, reports of various committees, etc. have been performed effectively without the use of paper. In the direction of environmental protection, this project plays an important role as up to 98 percent of paper has been saved due to the proceedings under the Neva, he added.Sh. Gian Chand Gupta further apprised the delegations that the Rules Committee of the Legislative Assembly has increased the duration of sittings by one and a half hour to 6 hours from the monsoon session 2022. Now during the sessions , the proceedings will be held from 11 am to 6 pm.The Vidhan Sabha Speaker apprised that on March 6, 2023, a training workshop was organized by the Haryana Legislative Assembly to study the demands for budget grants and prepare reports on them in which 25 Legislators from different parties took part. This training was given by the team of ‘Parliamentary Democracy Research and Training Institute’ (PRIDE) on behalf of Lok Sabha. A provision has been made to give the best award to the Legislators once in a year. An all-party committee selects the best legislator on the basis of certain parameters, he added.Sh. Gian Chand Gupta said that Haryana Legislative Assembly has started Zero Hour on all days which was the first time in the history of the State, when Zero Hour became a part of the Agenda. The Legislative Assembly has done another unique experiment in which the process of asking three questions in a month by each Member has been started besides the duration of the session. During the budget session, on March 8, 2021, on the occasion of Women’s Day, the proceedings of the House were handed over to 5 women legislators. This innovative experiment was done to empower women in the state, he added.Sh. Gian Chand Gupta further said that with live telecast of proceedings, the legislators will concentrate on their legislative work and will take more interest in the legislative work. By this initiative, the public will also know that their representatives are keeping the matter in the house or not. In this regard the proceedings of Haryana Legislative Assembly have been made available for satellite based TV channels, he added.        Extending warm welcome to foreign delegation, Principal Secretary, Foreign Cooperation, Sh. Anurag Agarwal said that besides being an agrarian state, Haryana has emerged as an economic powerhouse, a hub of automobile manufacturing activity, and a cynosure of all investing eyes, both domestic and foreign besides a leading contributor to the nation’s food pool. Haryana government led by a visionary leadership Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal not only hand-holds industry but also sprinkles the industrial soil with the fertilizer of fiscal and financial incentives and care, to ensure that the seeds of industry germinate and blossom, he added.

Mock drills are being conducted today at various places in Haryana regarding preparedness to deal with Covid infection: Health Minister Anil Vij

Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that mock drills are being conducted today at various places in connection with preparedness to deal with Covid infection in the state. He said that in view of Covid, we have to keep isolated rooms ready, keep oxygen ready, medicines etc. ready, while the treatment of such patients has to be symtomotic because the patients who have symptoms of Covid will be given the medicines according to disease. In this series, preparations were also reviewed under the mock drill being done by him to deal with the Covid infection in Ambala today.        Sh. Vij was talking to media persons today after taking stock of the mock drill being organized for the preparations made to deal with Covid infection in Ambala.       In response to the question asked about the preparations, he said that today complete preparations have been made here regarding Corona and checking is being done at different places of the state to see how prepared we are if Covid comes in full force. He said that today here I have checked about the oxygen, checked the isolation beds, checked the flow of oxygen, operate the oxygen plant to see whether there is oxygen or not. Apart from this, by calling an ambulance from dial 108, it is also being checked that in how many minutes the ambulance is reaching. Similarly, police vehicle has also been called from dial 112, because sometimes that vehicle is also required. He said that overall medicines are also available here, which means we are fully prepared.        In response to a question regarding the announcement of wearing masks for 24 hours in some states of the country, he said that we have to see the situation in our state. He said that now we have made masks mandatory in health institutions and masks have been made mandatory in more than 100 gatherings/congested areas. He said that we do not want to create chaos by closing the meetings, if anyone wants to hold a meeting, they should do so, but in more than 100 persons meetings everyone will have to wear masks.        In response to a question regarding patients coming to Haryana from other states, he said that if a patient has come to Haryana, he has come, last time also many patients from outside had come to Haryana. He said that as of today, 69 percent patients are coming to Gurugram and Faridabad of the state and patients from Delhi are also coming to Faridabad and Gurugram.        In response to a question regarding non-participation in the meeting organized for mock drill in private hospitals in Gurugram and non-conduct of mock drill, he said that this is a national problem, whether any government or any private will not do it, but we know how to get them done.       Home and Health Minister Anil Vij visited Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment in view of Corona infection and reviewed the arrangements made under the mock drill. On this occasion, he reviewed in detail the work being done by the doctors to prevent corona and gave necessary guidelines.He first inspected the emergency room of the civil hospital as part of the mockdrill. He also interacted with the patients who came there for treatment and got information about the medical facilities being provided. Interacted with the woman under treatment at bed number 11 and also got ECG of a patient done in front of him. After this, he also inspected the oxygen plant and reviewed how much oxygen is required per day and how much oxygen is available here.

Hry CM pays floral tributes on the mortal remains of Baba Mann Singh

Manohar Lal today visited Gurudwara Sach khand Isher Darbar, Jurasi, Pehowa in Kurukshetra district and laid a wreath and paid floral tributes to the mortal remains of Baba Mann Singh.The Chief Minister said that he shared a strong bond with Baba Mann Singh Ji. Baba Man Singh Ji always worked for the welfare of society, making the life of the people happy, and providing education, health, and other facilities to the underprivileged and the needy.Sant Baba Mann Singh Ji will always be remembered for his supreme social service. In this hour of grief, my condolences are with his family members and friends, said Sh. Manohar Lal.He said that the teachings of saints are immortal and following the path shown by them is the real tribute to them. He along with his family offered chadar at the dargah and prayed for the well-being and prosperity of the citizens of the nation.On this occasion, the Deputy CM said that we are moving towards becoming a stronger and a competent state in all sectors. In Amrit Kaal, by consolidating our achievements, we will take Haryana to new heights of development. He said that India has emerged as a shining star in the global economy under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi and at the same time Haryana is also playing a leading role in the economic development of the nation.Sh.  Dushyant Chautala said that Haryana is continuously doing commendable work in GST collection, whereas last year the state was at number six in the country, this time it has accelerated to number four. 

Hry Chief Secretary holds a meeting regarding pollution in Yamuna River catchment

– Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal directed the pollution control board officers to prepare a detailed report to observe the nature of the effluents or industrial discharge at various industrial entities in order to treat their waste according to the nature of the effluent discharge. For this purpose, joint committee comprising officers of Pollution Control Board, HSIIDC, ULB and Public Health Engineering Department will be constituted.Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal was presiding the meeting regarding pollution in Yamuna River catchment here at Chandigarh today. He said that officers should ensure upgrading of existing STPs, ETPs and CETPs as per the industrial discharge. He also directed that a road map should be prepared to tackle the issues related to river-based pollution. Before permitting any setup to operate, its nature of effluent discharge should be clearly mentioned in the project report so that the appropriate treatment plant can be installed.While reviewing the status of village STPs in Yamuna catchment, it was apprised that an action plan prepared for treatment/diversion of 75 MLD sewage generated from rural areas at 276 villages. It was informed that work in 118 villages has been completed and work in 130 villages are underway.The Chief Secretary was apprised that 4 Sewerage Treatment Plants (STPs) located at Peer Bodhi, Rohtak with the capacity of 15 MLD, Jodhpur Road, Palwal with 15 MLD capacity, Ferozpur, Palwal 2.5 MLD capacity and Rohtak 10 MLD capacity are on the verge of completion and will soon be operational.With a view to curb the effect of pollution in Yamuna catchment, the work of Mungeshpur drain & Drain no. 8 of Bahadurgarh, Dhanaura Escape, Yamunagar, Drain No. 2, Karnal, Drain No. 8, Rohtak, Leg-1 and 2 Drain, Gurugram, Leg 3 Drain, Badshahpur Sihi, Budhiya Nallah, Faridabad Gaunchi Drain, Faridabad and KCB drain, Jhajjar should be expedited so that they can be operationalise before the timeline, CS directed.He was further informed that 4 STPs of 340 MLD capacity are under consideration in the Yamuna River catchment which will be completed by December 2025. CS took the status update regarding upgradation of 5 STPs at Jhajjar, 2- Rohtak, Palwal and Faridabad. Along with it 3 CETPs of 20.2 MLD capacity are under upgradation in Sonepat and 1 is under construction at Bahadurgarh and 7 are proposed in districts Faridabad, Gurugram and Sonepat with the capacity of 126.5 MLD.The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer, Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority, Gurugram and Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority, Faridabad, Sh. Budget of Rs 364.60 crore under annual plan of operations for recognized landscapes approved in Hry

Haryana Steering Committee of Green India Mission which met under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal here today approved Rs 364.60 crore annual plan of operations for recognized landscapes in the state. The planning and implementation of interventions under the National Afforestation Program (NAP) is designed on the basis of landscape. In Haryana, the recognized landscapes are Shivaliks, Plains and Aravalis. The financial year 2023-2024 will be the second year of implementation of the Green India Mission.        The work to be carried out under the perspective plan for the recognized landscapes include eco-restoration, enhancing tree cover in urban and per-urban areas including institutional lands, agro-forestry and social forestry for increasing biomass and creating carbon sink. It also includes soil and moisture conservation works in the moderately dense forest cover showing degradation.        A sum of Rs 182.95 crore has been approved for the  Shivalik Landscape comprising areas in districts Panchkula, Yamunanagar and Ambala, while Rs.143.26 crore has been sanctioned for the Plain Landscape comprising Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Jind, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar and Kaithal districts. Similarly, a sum of Rs. 38.38 crore has been approved for Aravali landscape comprising areas of  districts Faridabad, Gurugram, Nuh, Mahendergarh, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Palwal and Rewari.        Directing the officials, Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal said that synergy between different schemes of the forest department and funds under the Green India Mission should be maintained to achieve the targets of the annual plan of operations. He said that the quality of forest cover should be enhanced with improvements in ecosystem services.        Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal directed the officers to issue instructions regarding intensive plantation and conduct inspection of ponds under the Amrit Sarovar scheme. “Amrit Sarovar is an exemplary kind of model. Intensive plantation should be carried out around the ponds under the Amrit Sarovar scheme and the directions in this regard should be publicized for appropriate action. Besides, senior officers of the forest department should ensure monitoring by conducting inspection of ponds in different districts,” he said.        The Chief Secretary also directed the officials to ensure proper implementation of works under the Shivdham Yojana and Nagar Van, besides restoring the old rest houses in the state. Constantly taking various steps to increase the number of doctors: Hry CM

Opening new vistas for medical education in Haryana, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today inaugurated the Amrita School of Medicine in Faridabad after inaugurating the C20 Summit on Integrated Holistic Health at Amrita Hospital, Faridabad. Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the Integrated Holistic Health Summit of Civil 20 (C20), one of the official Engagement Groups of the G20 at Amrita Hospital. Meanwhile, with the inauguration of this medical college, now there will be three medical colleges in Faridabad to provide state-of-the-art health facilities to the people of Faridabad and nearby districts.  Besides this, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed auditorium in the campus. The auditorium has a seating capacity of about 1200 people. Speaking after the inauguration of C20 Summit on Integrated Holistic Health at Amrita Hospital the Chief Minister said that while working on the principle of 5S— Shiksha, Swasthaya, Suraksha, Swabhiman and Swavlambhan the present state government is making dedicated steps to increase the Happiness Index of the State just like Bhutan. “Along with allopathy, it is necessary to give importance to homeopathy and Ayurveda. Due to the efforts of the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, today Yoga has got special recognition in the world. Haryana Government has also established Shri Krishna Ayurvedic University in Kurukshetra keeping in view the importance of Ayurveda. All India Institute of Ayurveda is also being established on 250 acres in Kurukshetra with the help of the Central Government. Work on 700 wellness centres is going on in Haryana. Besides this, 1000 parks and vyayamshala are being set up,” shared Sh. Manohar Lal. The Chief Minister said that according to the WHO standard, there is a requirement of 28,000 doctors in the state and presently there are 13,000 doctors including private practitioners in the state. The Haryana government is taking various steps to increase the number of doctors in the state. Now, apart from constructing medical colleges in all 22 districts of the state, the number of MBBS seats are also being increased continuously. Permission has also been sought to establish a joint college of Ayurveda and Allopathy in the state, shared Sh. Manohar Lal. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization, addressed the delegates virtually. Former Health Ministers from countries such as Argentina, Rwanda, and Malawi, were also present at the Summit. World-renowned spiritual leader and humanitarian, Mata Amritanandamayi (Amma),  (Amma) is the Chairperson of C-20. During the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister also released two new platforms, named Digital Shiksha for Advanced Clinical Capacity Learning (DiShA) and We Are with You (Hum Aapke Saath Hain). In this two-day Summit, delegates from more than 700 CSOs, health professionals, educators, and leaders from across the public health landscape would participate in discussions and workshops to formulate policies that support global health and wellness. Coordinator of the C20 Working Group on Integrated Holistic Health, Dr. Priya Nair said that the working Group aims to identify, articulate, discuss and address key health challenges in the domains of mental health, women and children health, nutrition, non-communicable disease, One Health, elderly care and holistic health (traditional and alternative forms of medicine, including Yoga and meditation). This would help suggest policy frameworks to address the same for the betterment of society in general. The G20 (Group of 20) is a forum comprising 19 countries and the European Union. It works to address major issues related to the global economy. C20 provides a platform for Civil Society Organizations (CSO) around the world to voice people’s aspirations to the world leaders in G20. Union Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries, Sh. Krishan Pal Gurjar, Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, Energy Minister, Sh. Ranjit Singh and many dignitaries were present at the inauguration ceremony. 

Government will pay 9 percent interest to the farmers’ in case of delay in their payments: Deputy Chief Minister

 Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that the state government initiative of transferring procurement payment to the accounts of farmers has been appreciated by the entire country. During the Kharif procurement this time, the state government will follow the same pattern of transferring payment directly in the bank accounts of farmers within 48-72 hours.  “If there is a delay in the payment, they will be paid along with 9 percent interest,” added Chautala. Interacting with media persons today, he said that 408 grain markets have been set up for procurement of wheat, 102 for mustard, 11 for pulses and 25 for barley in the state. So far, about 1.5 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has reached the grain markets, out of which 18,000 metric tonnes have been procured. Last year, various government agencies procured 67 lakh metric tonnes of wheat. Although there has been crop damage due to hailstorm this year, the same amount is expected to be procured. The state government has made adequate arrangements for the procurement of 76 lakh metric tonnes of wheat. Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that in view of the crop damaged caused due to rainfall and hailstorms, he has sent a DO letter to the Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Mr. Piyush Goyal requesting some relaxation in the moisture content of wheat. After this, a team of the Central Government has conducted a survey and he is hopeful that the Central Government will provide some relaxation to the farmers’. Sh. Dushyant Chautala also informed that the revenue of the state government is consistently increasing. During the year 2019-20, the government had received Rs. 6,100 crore as stamp-duty revenue in the state. Despite revenue-estates being closed for 4 months during COVID-19 crisis, the stamp-duty collected during the year 2020-21 is Rs. 5,134 crore, Rs. 8,490 crore in the year 2021-22 and Rs. 10,395 crore in the year 2022-23 so far. The stamp-duty and other revenue has been collected in the account of the state government, he added.
