Hockey Astro Turf to be constructed in village Badagarh, Ambala at Rs. 14 Crore: Chief Minister

Chandigarh, January 20 – Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, while speaking at the Haryana Kabaddi Khel Mahakumbh event held in village Badagarh, Ambala district, announced the construction of a Hockey Astro Turf at the Badagarh Sports Stadium. The project, valued at Rs. 14 crore, will also include the installation of floodlights at the stadium. In addition, Rs. 5 crore will be spent for the renovation of sports stadiums in village Laha and Village Bichpadi.

During the event, the Chief Minister presented awards to the winning teams in both the men’s and women’s categories of the Kabaddi Mahakumbh, recognizing those who secured the first, second, and third positions.

Congratulating the players, the Chief Minister said that Kabaddi is not just a game of physical strength, but also one of strategy. He highlighted how India, with the strength and skill of its athletes, is emerging as a dominant force in the Olympics and other international sports competitions, with Haryana’s players making significant contributions. He also mentioned that 11 talented athletes from Haryana were recently honoured by the President Mrs. Draupadi Murmu, including one player who received the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, ten who were awarded the Arjuna Award, and one coach who was honoured with the Dronacharya Award.

The Chief Minister said that Haryana has long been a stronghold for traditional sports such as Kabaddi, wrestling, and boxing, with its athletes bringing fame to both the state and the nation through their success in national and international competitions. He also said that Haryana’s reputation in sports has made it a favoured location for Bollywood, with films like Dangal and Sultan celebrating the achievements of the state’s male and female athletes.

He said that Haryana has consistently excelled in the field of sports. Out of the 6 medals won by India at the Paris Olympics 2024, 5 were secured by players from Haryana. In the Tokyo Olympics 2020, 30 players from Haryana participated, contributing 4 out of India’s 7 medals. The state’s performance in the Asian Games has also been remarkable. In the 2022 Asian Games, 82 players from Haryana took part, winning 28 of India’s 111 medals. Similarly, Haryana athletes dominated the Commonwealth Games as well. At the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, 43 players from Haryana competed and brought home 20 medals.

Chief Minister ShNayab Singh Saini said that the state government has implemented the Haryana Utkrisht Khiladi Sewa Rules 2021 to ensure secure employment for exceptional athletes. As part of this initiative, 550 new positions have been created in the Sports Department, and 224 players have been provided with government jobs.

Haryana is the first state in the country to offer the highest cash prizes to medal-winning athletes. To date, the state has awarded a total of Rs. 593 crore in cash prizes to players. In addition, honorariums are being provided to 298 athletes who have delivered outstanding performances.

He said that in recognition of the growing sports culture in the state, the government has committed to providing a medical insurance cover of Rs. 20 lakh to every player, as outlined in the Sankalp Patra-2024, to promote and support the welfare of athletes. In addition, incentives of Rs. 50 lakh, Rs. 30 lakh, and Rs. 20 lakh will be awarded annually to the top three Akharas at the state level. At the district level, the three best Akharas will receive Rs. 15 lakh, Rs. 10 lakh, and Rs. 5 lakh, respectively.

During the event, the Chief Minister also honoured the women’s Kabaddi team from Hisar, which secured first place in the Haryana Kabaddi Mahakumbh, as well as the teams from Rohtak (second place) and Gurugram and Ambala (third place), by presenting them with trophies and prizes.

Similarly, in the men’s Kabaddi competition, the Gurugram team, which secured first place, the Hisar team, which secured second place, and the teams from Rohtak and Ambala, which secured third place, were also honoured with trophies and prizes. The team finishing in first place received a prize of Rs. 2 lakh, the second place team received Rs. 1 lakh, and the third-place teams were awarded Rs. 25,000 each.

On this occasion, Principal Secretary of Sports Department, Sh. Navdeep Singh Virk, Director General Sh Sanjeev Verma, and other dignitaries were also present.

Government Focused on Equal Development for All Regions: Shyam Singh Rana

Chandigarh, January 20 – Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Fisheries, and Animal Husbandry Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana, emphasized the Haryana government’s commitment to the equal development of all regions during his thank-you visit to several villages in the Radaur Assembly constituency. He highlighted the government’s continuous efforts to implement policies benefiting every section of society.

The Minister Sh. Rana reiterated the importance of both education and sports for children. He urged village leaders, including sarpanches, to focus on creating infrastructure like stadiums and libraries. He emphasized that through proper education and participation in sports, children can secure good jobs and avoid the pitfalls of bad habits such as addiction.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, Sh. Rana assured that Haryana would continue advancing by working collectively for the welfare of all sections of society. He said that the state government has consistently pursued development work in all constituencies without discrimination and will continue to prioritize such efforts moving forward. He also committed to completing all pending or incomplete development projects at the earliest.

The Minister said that special initiatives are being taken by the state government to empower women. He also urged residents to foster unity and brotherhood within their communities.

The Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister said that his primary goal is to address the concerns of the people and ensure continued development in the constituency. “This victory is not mine, but that of the people of the constituency,” he said. During his visit, he listened to local grievances and assured the residents that their issues would be resolved promptly. He further assured that there would be no shortage of funds for development projects, saying, “You tell us the work, and we will continue working.”

BJP will form Government in Delhi with full majority: Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh January 20

Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the people of Delhi have made up their minds in favor of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). Under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, the BJP is poised to form a government with a full majority in the upcoming assembly elections scheduled for February 5.

 He further emphasized that the people of Delhi are determined to show the AAP government the way out, which has been misleading them with false promises.

Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini was interacting with the media persons after the sixth Pre-budget consultation with women for the Budget 2025-26, held in Panchkula today. He expressed confidence that the BJP will form the government with a full majority in Delhi.

In response to a question, Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that Sh. Arvind Kejriwal has surpassed Congress in terms of corruption, having crossed all limits. He added that the AAP government in Delhi is built on a foundation of lies and has only worked to fulfill its own ambitions over the past 10 years. However, he said that the people of Delhi have now realized that only the BJP is the true well-wisher of the poor.

He said that the Prime Minister is a true well-wisher of the poor and has resolved that every slum should be transformed into permanent housing. To achieve this, the Central and Haryana Governments, under the Prime Minister’s leadership, are working together to build and provide permanent homes for the poor.

In response to an another query, he described Haryana as the land of sports, soldiers, and farmers, highlighting that recently, President Smt. Droupadi Murmu honored several players from Haryana with the Major Dhyanchand Award, Bhim Award, and Dronacharya Award. Today, he himself had the privilege of honoring players at the Kabaddi Maha Kumbh, organized at Baragarh Stadium near Narayangarh in Ambala district. He added that the youth of Haryana are making their mark in every field globally. Thanks to the state’s sports policy, Haryana’s players continue to win medals and achieve great success.

Chief Minister holds pre-budget discussion with women representatives in Panchkula

Chandigarh, January 20 – Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, both the Central and Haryana Governments are actively working towards empowering women. He said that the government’s goal is to ensure women become key contributors to the nation’s development.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the suggestions provided by women today would play an important role in further empowering and strengthening women in the upcoming budget.

Sh Nayab Singh Saini was speaking during the sixth pre-budget consultation with women for Budget 2025-26, held in Panchkula today.

Women gave important suggestions in budget consultation

A total of 35 women, playing leading roles across various fields, participated in the pre-budget consultation and shared their suggestions with the Chief Minister. The women who contributed ideas included Anganwadi workers, members of self-help groups, Drone Didi, Lakhpati Didi, representatives from NGOs, progressive women farmers, and women entrepreneurs. In addition, young women from Haryana who took part in the Prime Minister’s Vikasit Bharat Young Leaders program in New Delhi on Swami Vivekananda Jayanti also shared their valuable suggestions.

Provision of 33 percent reservation for women in Lok Sabha and State Assemblies in 2029

Sh Nayab Singh Saini highlighted that the Prime Minister has announced a provision for 33 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies by 2029, aimed at ensuring greater female participation in the nation’s development and providing them with leadership opportunities. He further mentioned that the Haryana government is committed to empowering and making women self-reliant. To achieve this goal, the state government has implemented several ambitious initiatives.

Pre-budget discussion to be held with industrialists in Faridabad and representatives of textile industry in Panipat

The Chief Minister said that in order to realize the concept of an inclusive budget, the state government is actively seeking suggestions from various sections of society. The best suggestions received will be incorporated into the state government’s budget. He mentioned that, for the first time, the state government has introduced a system where residents can submit budget-related suggestions online from the comfort of their homes. A dedicated portal has been created for this purpose. He assured that the important suggestions shared by women during today’s pre-budget consultation will be included in the upcoming budget. He added that thousands of suggestions have already been received through pre-budget consultations with representatives from various sectors across the state. He will soon hold pre-budget discussions with industrialists in Faridabad and representatives from the textile industry in Panipat. Prior to this, similar consultations were held with stakeholders in Gurugram and Hisar.

Sanjha Bazaars will soon open in Yamunanagar and Fatehabad

The Chief Minister said that women today are not only excelling in fields such as education, agriculture, entrepreneurship, self-help groups, and sports but are also becoming a source of inspiration for others. He said that the government is fully supporting and assisting women in their endeavours. Whether it’s the launch of the Drone Didi initiative or the establishment of Sanjha Bazaars, the government is dedicated to empowering women. He shared that last year, it was suggested that a market for working women be created, allowing them to earn income by selling their products and becoming self-reliant. In response to this, the state government announced the Sanjha Bazaar scheme in the 2024-25 budget. Under this initiative, a Sanjha Bazaar has already been launched in Karnal, and similar markets will soon be opened in Yamunanagar and Fatehabad. In addition, Atal canteens have been set up in the mandis of the state, which are being successfully managed by women.

Mahila Chaupals to come up in villages

He mentioned that the current state government has developed a roadmap to ensure that girls do not face any barriers in pursuing higher education. As part of this initiative, a women’s college has been established every 20 kilometers. Additionally, a pink bus service has been introduced to safely transport female students. The Chief Minister further highlighted that there are plans to open Mahila Chaupals in the villages of the state for women. While Mahila Chaupals have already been set up in some villages, they will soon be launched in other villages as well.

Women must listen to the budget speech in February

Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh Rajesh Khullar said that the pre-budget consultation program was launched six years ago to gather suggestions from various stakeholders for the state budget. Since its inception, approximately 400 suggestions from different sectors have been incorporated into the budget. Sh. Khullar encouraged the women who participated in the pre-budget consultation to listen to the speech of Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini when he presents the budget as Finance Minister in February. He assured them that on that day, they would undoubtedly recall and reflect on the experiences of today’s meeting.

On this occasion, progressive woman farmer Gurpreet Kaur from Yamunanagar presented turmeric pickle, prepared by herself, to the Chief Minister. In recognition of her efforts, the Chief Minister encouraged Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur by giving her Rs. 500. He also inquired about the sale of her turmeric pickle. Mrs. Kaur shared that she had set up her stall at the International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav in Kurukshetra and the Kapalmochan Mela in Bilaspur.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praises Startups from Ambala and Hisar in Haryana; Chief Minister expresses gratitude

Chandigarh, January 19

In his first ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme of 2025, Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi highlighted the growing startup culture in cities like Ambala and Hisar in Haryana. He expressed his happiness that cities like Ambala and  Hisar are emerging as hubs for startups. He remarked that the startup culture is not confined to large cities alone, with more than half of the startups in smaller cities being led by our daughters. For this, Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini thanked the Prime Minister for his remarks.

Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini listened to the 118th episode of Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program in Kaithal on Sunday.

Addressing the party workers after the program, the Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi had praised the startups from Ambala and Hisar in Haryana by mentioning them in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program. He further added that Haryana is home to many young entrepreneurs whose startups are now setting benchmarks, with turnovers ranging from Rs 100 to 200 crores.

State Government considering new schemes in 2025-26 Budget to promote Startups: Chief Minister

The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to establishing Haryana as a leading startup hub. The government is making concerted efforts to position Haryana as a major player in the national startup ecosystem, aligning with the goals of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Startup India’. The aim is not only to accelerate the state’s economic development but also to create new employment opportunities for the youth, ensuring that Haryana earns a distinctive identity as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship across the country. The Chief Minister further mentioned that the state government is actively considering new schemes in the upcoming budget for the financial year 2025-26 to promote startups.

Describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat program as a source of inspiration for the youth, Sh Nayab Singh Saini urged all party workers to listen to the programme every month with citizens at their respective booths. He called on the workers to connect as many people as possible, especially the youth, with the Mann Ki Baat program.

It is noteworthy that, in a previous episode, Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi had also praised the efforts of Kaithal’s young farmer, Virendra Yadav, for his work on stubble management.

Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that both the Central and State Governments are continuously working for the welfare of the common people, with the direct benefits reaching the eligible individuals. He highlighted that the outcome of this work was evident in the formation of the BJP government with a massive majority for the third consecutive time in Haryana. He acknowledged that people have high expectations from the government and emphasized the need to meet those expectations. He urged party workers to address the grievances of the people.

The Chief Minister further said that for the first time in history, 24,000 youth have been provided government jobs simultaneously as soon as the government was formed. He added that people have already accepted that the Bharatiya Janata Party will form the government again in 2029.

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi had mentioned the contributions of the Constituent Assembly members, the Maha Kumbh, and India’s achievements in Space during his Mann Ki Baat programme. In addition, he recalled the bravery of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in his fight against the British, highlighting that every year, his birth anniversary is celebrated as Parakram Diwas on January 23.

Later, in response to a query from journalists, the Chief Minister reaffirmed that the Haryana government follows a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. He said that corruption would not be tolerated at any level.

On this occasion, MLA Satpal Jambha, former Minister Kamlesh Dhanda and former MLA Leela Ram were also present.

Minister Rao Narbir Singh inspects proposed metro expansion route in Gurugram, gave necessary directions regarding DPR

Chandigarh, January 19

Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh directed the GMDA officers to ensure that the proposed metro expansion between Millennium City Center to Railway Station, Sector-22 and Cyber City in Gurugram causes minimal disruption to the public and existing services.

Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh said this while giving necessary directions during an inspection of the proposed metro expansion route with officers of Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) and GMDA. The Minister emphasised on DPR being prepared with a special emphasis on public convenience. 

After inspecting the route, he directed officers to expedite the construction work while ensuring public convenience a priority. He said that the need for a well-planned traffic diversion strategy to ensure smooth traffic flow during construction. 

Rao Narbir Singh directed that during the project essential services, such as the drainage system, electricity, water supply, and sewage, should remain unaffected. If any problems arise the necessary redressal measures should be completed before starting metro construction work .

The minister further directed the GMDA officers that any construction of flyovers or underpasses work should be carried out parallel to the metro construction project. He said that officers should finalise the proposed route alignment within a month and ensure that Gurugram’s drainage system is not affected. 

Notably, Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini held a meeting with officers regarding the project. It was informed in the meeting that the Detailed Project Report for the metro expansion between Millennium City Center to Cyber city has been approved by both the state and central governments. The foundation stone for the project was laid by Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi on February 16, 2024, in Rewari. The construction is scheduled to begin on May 1, 2025 as shared in the meeting by the officers.

The metro expansion will cover 28.50 km with 27 stations, including 8 model stations, and one depot. The project will cost Rs. 896.19 crore from the central government and Rs. 4,556.53 crore from the Haryana government. A medium metro will be established under this project and it will operate on standard gauge, besides this, the metro will be based on Communication Based Train Control Signal (CBTC ) and the maximum speed will be 80 km per hour. Initially there will be three coaches in the metro connectivity expandable to six in the future. To ensure the project is completed efficiently, an executive committee and a coordination committee have been formed to resolve any issues that arise during implementation of the project.

Chief Engineer, GMDA, Sh. Rajesh Bansal, XEN, Sh. Vikas Malik and GMRL officers also remained present.

HERC appoints Electricity Ombudsman

Chandigarh, January 19

The Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC) appointed Engineer Rakesh Kumar Khanna as the Electricity Ombudsman on January 17, aiming for the swift and transparent resolution of consumer complaints. With over 25 years of experience in the power distribution sector, Mr. Khanna regards this role as a significant opportunity to address and resolve consumer issues effectively.

HERC has created a robust three-tier system for redressal of consumer complaints. Under which disputes up to Rs 1 lakh are resolved through 21 CGRFs at the circle level. Disputes of Rs 1–3 lakh are heard in four zonal CGRFs. Disputes of more than Rs 3 lakh are settled by two corporate CGRFs (Panchkula and Gurugram).

Consumers dissatisfied with the decision of CGRF can submit their complaints before the Electricity Ombudsman.

Maharana Pratap is a source of inspiration for all of us – Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana

Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Sh Shyam Singh Rana, said that the Haryana Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini, is committed to the upliftment of all sections of society. He said that the state government is focused on carrying out development work impartially, in the true spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.

The Minister made these remarks while addressing the gathering at the Pratibha Samman program, held in Rewari on the occasion of Maharana Pratap’s death anniversary. During the event, Minister paid tribute to Maharana Pratap by offering flowers at his statue.

As part of the Pratibha Samman program, the Minister honoured the youth from various communities who excelled in sports, education, and other fields, presenting them with certificates and mementos.

Minister Rana further said, “Maharana Pratap is a source of inspiration for all of us. Even the highest-ranking military officers adopt his principles and values in their lives. He was a staunch nationalist who fought the Mughals till his last breath. The greatest quality of Maharana Pratap was his unwavering resolve to never accept defeat. His legacy is a beacon of inspiration not just for one community but for all communities. He urged the youth to follow the path shown by Maharana Pratap in their own lives.

Khattar Takes Charge as Star Campaigner in Delhi’s Electoral Battlefield

Chandigarh, January 16

Union Minister for Power, Housing, and Urban Development, Manohar Lal, has entered Delhi’s electoral battlefield with full vigor. The BJP leadership has placed their trust in him by including him in the list of star campaigners and assigning him the responsibility of overseeing the nomination filing of BJP candidates. On Thursday, he filed the nomination papers for BJP candidates in Tilak Nagar and Rajouri Garden. During the roadshows accompanying the nomination process, Manohar Lal has been strongly critical of corruption and negligence in development under Delhi’s AAP government. He also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” to the public.

Through public meetings, Manohar Lal has effectively exposed the failures of the Delhi government, addressing issues ranging from floods to the deteriorating condition of the Yamuna River, scarcity of drinking water, and inadequacies in education and healthcare under the AAP regime.

On Thursday, Union Minister Manohar Lal filed the nomination papers for BJP candidate Shweta Saini from the Tilak Nagar Assembly constituency. Haryana’s Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda was also present on the occasion. Manohar Lal expressed confidence that the people of Tilak Nagar are eager for change and that this time, they will show the corrupt AAP government the door. Additionally, he filed the nomination papers for BJP candidate Manjinder Singh Sirsa from Rajouri Garden. Earlier, Manohar Lal had also filed the nomination for BJP candidate Vijender Gupta from the Rohini Assembly constituency, who is contesting to achieve a hat-trick of victories.

Delhi’s People Ready to Rid Themselves of the AAP Government: Manohar Lal

During the election campaign, Union Minister Manohar Lal labeled the Delhi AAP government as a “disaster government,” stating that the last ten years have brought significant disasters to Delhi. However, he emphasized that the people of Delhi are now in the mood for change and ready to accelerate the city’s development with a “double-engine government.” He alleged that corruption has increased under the AAP regime, citing the “Sheesh Mahal” and liquor scams as major examples. He pointed out that AAP leaders, including ministers, have been jailed on corruption charges and are now out on bail, misleading the public through deceptive campaigns. Manohar Lal asserted that on February 5, the people of Delhi will press the button to oust the AAP “disaster government,” and by February 8, Delhi will have a double-engine government.

Punjab Government Appoints Officers to Address Complaints of Divyang Persons: Dr. Baljit Kaur

Chandigarh, January 16 

Under the able leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and the guidance of Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, the department is working diligently to ensure the welfare of Divyang persons. As part of this effort, the Social Security, Women and Child Development Department has appointed grievance redressal officers under Section 23 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act, 2016, to address their complaints. 

Sharing details about the initiative, Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that grievance redressal officers have been appointed at various departments, boards, corporations, universities and other government institutions across the state to effectively resolve the issues faced by Divyang Persons. A notification in this regard has  been issued. 

The Minister further explained that the appointed grievance redressal officers will resolve complaints related to discrimination, workplace challenges and career progression for Divyang Persons. She highlighted that investigations into any complaints must be completed within two weeks of receipt. 

Dr. Baljit Kaur directed the officers to maintain a proper record-keeping process while resolving complaints to ensure transparency and accountability. She reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the welfare and empowerment of Divyang Persons. 

Additionally, the Minister instructed department officials to make the names and contact numbers of the grievance redressal officers appointed by various departments, boards, corporations and universities available on the department’s official website within one month.  Minister also directed the officials to promptly prepare a telephone directory of the grievance redressal officers.

This initiative underscores the Punjab Government’s dedication to fostering an inclusive environment and ensuring that the rights of Divyang Persons are upheld with sincerity and efficiency.
