Chandigarh, August 12:- In a remarkable initiative to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh and children associated with Don Bosco Navjeevan Society continued their citywide campaign across Chandigarh’s green belts and parks. On the ninth day of the ongoing cleanliness drive, the young volunteers carried out a thorough cleaning of the green belt in Sector 26.
Area Councillor Sh. Dalip Sharma also actively participated in the campaign, joining the children in collecting and disposing of garbage into the designated municipal waste vehicle. His presence and involvement highlighted the importance of community participation in keeping public spaces clean and green.
Speaking to the public gathered during the event, Councillor Dalip Sharma emphasized the role each individual can play in maintaining a clean environment. He encouraged residents to keep their homes, schools, workplaces, and surrounding areas clean, and to manage waste responsibly. He further stressed the importance of spreading awareness about cleanliness within families and social circles.
“This cleanliness drive, initiated by the Municipal Corporation in collaboration with social organizations, is a crucial step towards building a cleaner and healthier environment. It is our collective responsibility to contribute to this mission and make cleanliness a habit, not just a campaign,” he added.
