PM to Inaugurate Two Key Road Projects for Haryana Today

Chandigarh, August 16– Haryana’s road infrastructure journey is set to reach a new milestone today as Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi will inaugurate two major highway projects that will accelerate connectivity for Sonipat and Bahadurgarh on August 17, 2025.

          Addressing a press conference here today, Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the Prime Minister will inaugurate six road projects worth about Rs. 11,000 crore, two of which are connected to Haryana. These two projects, costing about Rs. 2,000 crore, are part of the Urban Extension Road-2 initiative. He said these will free the NCR from traffic jams and connectivity challenges.

          The Chief Minister stated that these two projects will serve as vital four-lane link roads connecting the Delhi–NCR region with Haryana’s industrial clusters. He added that the improved network will not only facilitate smoother transport but also unlock fresh opportunities for trade and employment.

          He said that in Package-4, a 29.6-km road built at a cost of Rs. 1,490 crore will provide direct connectivity to Sonipat and relieve the heavy congestion on NH-44. This road will also connect the Bawana Industrial Area directly with NH-352A (Jind–Gohana Road), giving a new push to trade and industry. In Package-5, a 7.3-km stretch costing Rs. 487 crore will link Dichaon Kalan in Delhi directly to Bahadurgarh and the KMP Expressway, ensuring easy access to both, he shared.

          Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that these projects are a testament to our double-engine government’s commitment to building world-class infrastructure in the region. He also expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for approving major projects while keeping Haryana’s interests in special focus. CM Pays Tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on His Death Anniversary

          The Chief Minister paid rich tributes to the former Prime Minister, late Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on his death anniversary, recalling him as a statesman who redefined the spirit of Indian politics. He said that Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was an epitome of grace and whenever governments strayed from the path of public interest, he always cautioned them with restraint and dignity. His towering personality was a central pillar of Indian political life, the Chief Minister remarked.

          Taking a jibe, the Chief Minister said that it was unfortunate that today’s Opposition lacked the grace and sense of responsibility that Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee embodied. He said that Congress leaders should draw inspiration from Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji’s life. They must study and understand how Sh. Atal  Bihari Vajpayee ji became the true voice of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, representing issues with dignity and substance. The Congress must learn from his example of conduct and statesmanship, he said.

Pandurang, Chief Executive Officer, Haryana Parivar Suraksha Nyas, Dr. Jainder Singh Chhilar, Additional Director (Admn.), Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture Department, Smt. Varsha Khangwal, Media Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. Praveen Attrey and other officers also remained present on this occasion.
