Chandigarh, August 17 – Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi has allocated a budget provision of Rs. 13,000 crore for the purchase of tools under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana for the OBC category, including the Panchal community. The Chief Minister also announced that plot would be provided in HSVP Sector, Panchkula for the Panchal community, Rs. 31 lakh would be allocated for the construction of Kurukshetra Bhawan and registration will be done under the scheme of giving ownership rights to tenant farmers.
Chief Minister Nayabb Singh Saini was speaking at a state-level program held in Kurukshetra on Sunday to mark the Smriti Divas of revered Swami Bhishma Maharaj.
He said that Swami Bhishma Maharaj dedicated his life to social service, spiritual awakening, and the practice of national interest, inspiring society to follow the path of unity, education, culture, and service. Swami Bhishma Maharaj, he added, was a ratna of the Panchal community. The Panchal community, known for its hard work, has continuously contributed to nation-building—from agriculture to industry, and from construction to security. The developed Haryana we see today has an important contribution of the skills and dedication of the Panchal community.
The Chief Minister said that Swami Bhishma Maharaj performed penance in the villages of Tyoda and Pandu Pindara in Kurukshetra. Coming from a rural background, he established himself as a distinguished scholar through his education and knowledge. He studied Satyarth Prakash, a book by Swami Dayanand Saraswati, and made significant contributions to the organization and propagation of the Arya Samaj. He highlighted that Swami Bhishma Maharaj worked tirelessly to raise public awareness against social evils such as child marriage, illiteracy, and drug addiction. He championed women’s education, widow remarriage, and the rights of marginalized sections of society. He added that the Swami’s pen was as powerful as his speech, having authored 228 books on topics such as nationalism and social reform. His songs and poems continue to inspire and energize people even today.
Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that great men do not belong to any particular religion or caste, they belong to everyone. It is the responsibility of all of us to preserve and honor their legacy. With this objective, the government is working to spread the messages of saints and great men under the “Sant-Mahapurusha Vichar Samman and Prasar Yojana.” To implement the message of equality they advocated, several schemes have been launched to improve the standard of living of the poorest sections of society.
The Chief Minister further stated that under the guidance of Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi, many significant initiatives have been undertaken for the welfare and upliftment of backward classes. On this occasion, he also highlighted various welfare schemes currently being run for the backward classes and provided detailed information about the benefits they offer.
Great men do penance and pave the way for unity, courage, and prosperity in society: Mahipal Dhanda
Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda said that great men are the heritage of society, who through their penance paves the way for unity, courage, and prosperity. He urged citizens to adopt the teachings of great men in their lives and work towards the progress of the nation.
The Minister added that thanks to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is on track to become the most powerful country in the world by 2047. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is driving the state forward with three times the speed, enthusiasm, and passion. By launching numerous schemes, the Chief Minister has opened new avenues of development to take Haryana to greater heights. He further emphasized that while earlier governments merely handed out degrees to youth, the present government has charted a clear direction for the future of young people by implementing the New Education Policy for the first time in the country.
Panchal community tolerated the negligence of previous governments: Ranbir Gangwa
PWD and Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Gangwa said that the Panchal community is extremely hardworking and skilled in shaping and bending iron. He added that this is a community that never backs down from challenges. He said that previous governments had largely neglected the Panchal community, which had borne many unfulfilled expectations. On the community’s participation in the state-level program, he expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on behalf of the OBC community.
