Chandigarh, September 16 – Haryana Environment, Forest and Wildlife Minister, Rao Narbir Singh said that the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ campaign across the state will be conducted from September 17 to October 2. As part of this initiative, 75 ‘Namo Vans’ will be established at various locations.
The Minister while presiding over a review meeting with departmental officers regarding Seva Pakhwada here today issued directions to complete all necessary preparations for the same. During the meeting, it was informed that under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, the state has set a target of planting 4 lakh saplings. The progress will be uploaded on the “Meri LiFE” (My life) portal of the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change. The main event will be organized at Bir Hisar on September 19.
The Minister further informed that as per the Central Ministry’s programme, on September 25, the birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyaya, all District Forest Officers will organize special cleanliness drives at their respective offices. They will observe the theme “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” by undertaking Shramdaan to spread the message of cleanliness, he said. It was also shared that during the fortnight, four mobile publicity vans will promote the campaign through digital walls. The Minister directed that an awareness video on plastic pollution should also be uploaded.
Rao Narbir Singh emphasized that the government’s goal is to make the NCR region greener and to realize Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of developing a Jungle Safari in the Aravalli region. He directed officers concerned to invite proposals from experts for developing the Jungle Safari.
