Chandigarh, October 31– Haryana Health Minister, Kumari Arti Singh Rao has directed the officers of the Health Department to ensure that all government health institutions in the state maintain a clean and well-organized sanitation system. She stated that a clean and hygienic environment is not only essential for the well-being of patients but also positively impacts the overall functioning and service quality of hospitals.
The Health Minister said that the primary objective of the state government is to ensure that every citizen has access to government health institutions that are clean, safe, and equipped with state of the art facilities.
Taking a significant step in this direction, she directed that a special cleanliness drive be conducted in all government health institutions across the state from November 2 to November 8.
She directed officiers to ensure regular cleaning of hospital wards, emergency rooms, maternity wards, toilets, and waiting areas. There should be no accumulation of waste or garbage within hospital premises, the Minister directed.
She said directed that biomedical waste must be disposed of on time and in accordance with prescribed guidelines.
The Minister also directed departmental officers to monitor the cleanliness campaign, maintain proper records of all activities, and share photographs of the campaign.
Kumari, Arti Singh Rao further said that strict action will be taken against any officers or employees found negligent in maintaining cleanliness.
The Health Minister reiterated that the government is committed to making health institutions both patient-friendly and clean. She also appealed to the public to cooperate with the administration and staff in maintaining cleanliness within hospital premises.
