Tohana, December 25
In a tribute to the sacrifice of the Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh, a blood donation camp was organised in village Saniana under the aegis of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Sahibzada Fateh Singh Sewa Society Tohana.
In a statement, Vinod Kumar Kairon, media in-charge of the society, emphasized that this initiative was an annual tradition for the organization. This year, a fourth blood donation camp was held to commemorate the supreme martyrdom of the four Sahibzadas, whose courage and sacrifice remain unmatched in history. At this blood donation camp, donors set a record in Tohana city by donating 115 units of blood. “The martyrdom of the Sahibzadas is an integral part of our heritage. Through this blood donation camp, we aim to contribute towards a vital social cause and help in building a blood bank for those in need,” he added.
Kairon further said that along with the blood donation camp, poetry recitation, speech and quiz competition on Sikh history were also organised. Students from Akal Academy Saniana, Tagore Public School, Shaheed Sardar Mehar Singh Girls Senior Secondary School, Dashmesh Academy Gullarwala and Government High School Saniana participated in this program. Students, who secured first, second, and third in the competition were honoured with cash prizes. The principals of all the schools were also honoured with mementos. Kulwinder Singh Bal, Vinod Nayak, Raj Singh Gill, Rajesh Dahiya, Mausam Kairon, Baljeet Kamboj, Karandeep Singh Sara, Vandana Kamboj, Yoga teacher Bir Singh and all the villagers were present on the occasion.
