Chandigarh, August 25
In view of the Monsoon Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha commencing on August 27, Speaker Harvinder Kalyan convened a meeting on Tuesday to review security arrangements. He discussed measures to ensure foolproof security during the session with senior officials from Haryana, Punjab, UT Chandigarh and CISF and issued important directions in this regard.
It was decided at the meeting that security arrangements would be further strengthened to ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of the Monsoon Session. The Speaker directed the formation of a coordination committee comprising officials from the police and security agencies of Haryana, Punjab, UT Chandigarh and CISF .
The Chandigarh Administration will also deploy Duty Magistrates in two shifts throughout the session. Chandigarh Police personnel will remain present at the spot to take immediate action, if required.
No kind of protest or demonstration will be permitted within the Vidhan Sabha complex. The Speaker directed police officials to make all necessary arrangements in advance to prevent any such situation.
It was also decided that no person, whether an ordinary visitor or a dignitary, would be allowed to enter the Vidhan Sabha premises carrying any weapon. The Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat has also written to all Members of the Legislative Assembly in this regard.
