Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala has said that Maharaja Agrasen Hisar Airport will be made operational by November 1, 2023. Under the Regional Connectivity Scheme, air service will be started from Hisar on 9 routes to different states. After completion of various works, passengers will be able to travel on these routes by 48 seater plane.Sh. Dushyant Chautala was interacting with media persons at Hisar airport on Thursday. Urban Local Bodies Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta was also present on the occasion.Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that Air India will come for inspection of Hisar airport in the direction of starting flying training operations from here. Air India is going to buy 400 Airbus aircraft soon. If the flying training operations will start after inspection in Hisar, then Air India alone will give this training to about 200 pilots. He said that three other companies are also in the race to start flying training operations in Hisar, for which open tender will be floated soon.Giving information about various works going on at the airport, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the work of the boundary wall of the airport would be completed in the month of May. In terms of security, watch towers have been set up as per international standards. The work of the taxiway at the airport is almost complete. Advanced light systems have arrived and will be installed from next month. The capacity of the existing terminal at the airport will be increased from 30 people to 55. Apart from this, the process of tender for the building of the new terminal will start soon. Arrangements are also being made in view of hijack and other emergency situations, he added. The Deputy Chief Minister said that many projects have been approved as per the conditions of the Central Government and their drawings are being prepared.In response to a question about connecting Hisar to Chandigarh via rail, he said that negotiations regarding the rail connectivity of Chandigarh via Hisar-Uklana to Narwana are still underway, on which the report is yet to come. The Deputy Chief Minister informed that a provision of Rs. 723 crore has been made in the budget for the elevated road in Hisar.
