To mitigate the hardships of citizens of the State due to the recent flood, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today launched an expanded version of the e-kshatipurti portal i.e. https://ekshatipurti.haryana.gov.in This upgraded version of the portal aims to ease the process of submission of applications by the people for their damages and loss and further to bring transparency in the system of damage verification and disbursement of compensation to the affected people in a time-bound manner. Notably, till now the farmers used to upload the details about the damage caused to their crops due to natural calamities. While addressing a press conference held here today after the launch, Sh. Manohar Lal said that this portal shall remain open till August 18, 2023, for the general public to upload their loss claims and immediate compensation will be awarded once the verification is completed.  The portal also has a provision for the villagers to share the details about claims of damage to houses, livestock and crops, while the people living in urban areas can upload the details about the commercial and movable and immovable properties.         “Through this portal, claims can also be made for the damages or loss occurred during the recent incident of violence reported in Nuh district. A special scheme will be formulated for giving compensation for the losses,” said the Chief Minister. He further said that new features have been included in the portal, in view of the recent floods due to which, loss of human life, house, commercial properties and livestock have been reported widely in the State. The general public is requested to make full use of the portal for their benefit, urged the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister said that the compensation will be calculated based on the verification reports and the same will be paid after the due process and as per the prescribed norms. “The affected citizens can register their claims through an application against the damage and loss with respect of house, livestock, crops and commercial movable property, due to flood, on the portal. The general public can upload the details of types and number of livestock lost in the disaster,” he informed. The Chief Minister further informed that in case of house damage, details like the kind of house, i.e., Kaccha or Pucca and its type of damage are required to be provided on this portal. This online process shall reduce the time, ease out the entire process of compensation claims, increase transparency and reduce corrupt practices significantly, said Sh. Manohar Lal.  Divulging the details about the compensation slabs, the Chief Minister said that maximum compensation of Rs. 50 lakh and Rs. 25 lakh respectively will be given for loss of movable and immovable properties caused due to floods in urban areas. In case of the movable property for loss up to Rs 5 lakh, a compensation of 80 percent of the loss amount, i.e. Rs 4 lakh will be given. While for the loss between Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh, 70 percent compensation will be given, for the loss between Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh, 60 percent compensation will be given, for the loss between Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 50 lakh, 40 percent compensation will be given.
