Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the state government is committed to the well-being of farmers and various agricultural initiatives has been started. He said that the present state government has taken numerous significant steps for efficient irrigation management, including the distribution of 50,000 solar tube well connections with a 75 percent subsidy this year.

The government has set an ambitious target to provide 70,000 farmers with solar tube well connections at a 75 percent subsidy next year, shared the Chief Minister while speaking as the chief guest at an event held at Sadhna Kendra in Jhinjholi village, Sonipat, late Monday evening.

Sh. Manohar Lal also highlighted the farmer-friendly approach of the present state government. Haryana stands as the only state in the country to procure 15 to 16 crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP). The government’s efforts also focus on bolstering farmers’ financial stability through innovative programs such as the Fasal Bima Yojana, Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana, and Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana, asserted the Chief Minister.

He said that the government has displayed its commitment to the welfare of farmers further by providing assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the families of farmers who die while working in the field. Financial support is also extended to farmers injured during agricultural activities. In a recent decision, the Haryana government has decided to give financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the families of those who meet unfortunate accidents due to stray animals, shared the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister said that during the tenure of previous governments, citizens had to make arduous trips to Chandigarh to address their concerns and avail of government services. However, the present government has changed this practice, ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach the citizens’ doorsteps. Today, people no longer need to visit the Chief Minister’s office, instead, the government actively engages with the public through programs like Jan Samvad to address their issues, said Sh. Manohar Lal.

He further informed that concerned about the health of the citizens, the Haryana government has expanded the scope of Ayushman Bharat Chirayu Yojana. Now, families in the state with annual incomes ranging from Rs 1.80 to Rs 3 lakh can avail of the scheme’s benefits. Under the Ayushman Bharat Chirayu Scheme, health cards will be issued free of charge to families with income up to Rs 1.80 lakh, informed the Chief Minister.

He said that families with incomes up to Rs 3 lakh will contribute Rs 1500 per year per family to access health cards. This initiative is set to benefit 38 lakh families in the state.

The Chief Minister said that in a move to improve the conditions of rural Chowkidar, the state government has raised their monthly honararium to Rs 11,000 and has also decided to provide Rs 5 lakh financial assistance to their families in the unfortunate event of their demise. Additionally, Chowkidars will receive a lump sum benefit of Rs 2 lakh upon retirement, mirroring the benefits provided to Anganwadi workers.

He further highlighted the government’s commitment to eliminating corruption in job recruitment processes, resulting in greater transparency in government jobs. He said that this transparent system has enabled individuals from diverse backgrounds to secure government employment based on their qualifications. The state is actively organizing Rozgar Melas to offer job opportunities to the youth, shared Sh. Manohar Lal.
