World Heart Day celebration was organized by faculty and Msc students of Cardiac and Critical Care Nursing at National Institute of Nursing Education on 29th September 2022 for raising awareness about preventing cardiovascular diseases and to promote a healthy heart life.
Dr. Sukhpal Kaur, officiating Principal, NINE introduced and welcomed the Chief Guest of the occasion, Prof. Yash Paul Sharma, Head, Department of Cardiology and Guest of honour Dr. J.S. Thakur, Professor, Deptt of Community medicine and SPH, PGIMER Chandigarh. Ms. Neena Vir Singh unfolded the theme, i.e, “Use Heart for Every Heart”. Guest of Honor, Prof. J.S. Thakur enlightened the students about the preventive and health promotion aspects of cardiovascular health. Chief guest Dr.Yash Paul Sharma emphasized the importance of a healthy lifestyle in preventing cardiovascular diseases.
Various activities related to the theme were carried out such as poster making competition, health education on prevention of cardiovascular diseases, Quiz competition, role play and poetry recitation. Meditation session for the students and faculty was also conducted by Brahma kumaris for relaxation of mind and body.
Students and faculty of NINE also participated in a walkathon on “Cardiovascular health awareness” organized by Deptt of Cardiology PGIMER Chandigarh. Results of poster making competition and quiz were declared and the winners were awarded with certificates. The event ended with the vote of thanks.
