A delegation of five Ambassadors to different countries namely Ms Reenant Sandhu, Ambassador of India to Netherlands, Sh. Pavan Kumar Paul Ambassador of India to Russia, Dr Virender Kumar Paul, Ambassador of India to Republic to Turkey, Sh. Mohinder Partap Singh, Ambassador of India to Mongolia, Sh. Sanjeev Tandon, Ambassador of India to Togo visited Chandigarh today.
The team was welcomed by senior officers of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh at the newly rejuvenated Amrit Sarovar at Kaimbwala Village. The delegation was informed that the Prime Minister of India had launched a Mission on Amrit Sarovar on 24 April 2022. The Mission aimed at developing and rejuvenating 75 water bodies in each district of the country as a part of celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and the target to complete the work has been fixed as 15/08/2023.
The officers of MCC further informed the delegation that the Municipal Corporation under this mission plans to rejuvenate 4 abandoned Water Bodies at Village Kaimbwala, Sarangpur, Khuda Alisher and Daddumajra. The two water bodies at village Kaimbwala and Sarangpur have already been rejuvenated. The work on rejuvenation of third water body at village Khuda Alisher is in progress and shall be completed by the end of this month.These water bodies will act as Rain water Harvesting structures and will raise the level of depleted ground water. They will also help in avoiding floods and will also in conserve the water. This will act as a mini Lake and recreation centre for the residents of the villages.
