Setting a perfect example of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, the Self Help Groups (SGHs) of Barna village, Kurukshetra district has become self-reliant only meeting its employment needs but also increasing the economic standard of all such families who need it the most.Notably, presently there are about 30 SGHs working in the village who have commendably managed to save Rs.20 lakh from the self-generated employment opportunities.Showering parsing on the members of these SHGs, the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal who specially met the members during a Jan Samvad held in the village said that Self Help Groups members are doing an excellent job in providing employment opportunities to the families who need it the most, along with taking care of their own families. Your efforts are pivotal in improving the needy families’ financial condition, said Sh. Manohar Lal.Meanwhile, Suman, who runs a self-help group in Barna village apprised the Chief Minister that SHGs in the village are not only taking care of their families by providing self-employment but is also playing a significant role in improving their economic condition.In today’s era, SHGs have been upholding the spirit of community and sociality. With their funds, the SHGs also start rural-based micro or small industries, which creates new employment opportunities for the needy and deserving, said Suman.She also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for the state government’s present plan of giving an incentive of Rs. 20,000 for the formation of SHGs.Suman further shared that the leadership is given to one member of the SHG, who does all the management work and these groups are funded by banks, which facilitates financial transactions.She shared that initially, the SHG started selling milk, which made them earn a lot of profit. Later, with her hard-earned money, she was also able to buy a goods vehicle for her husband.The members of SHGs and their family members are engaged in various works including beauty parlour, boutique, clothes, dairy, utensil shops etc.
