Principal Secretary, Labour Department, Sh. Rajeev Ranjan, stated that the Haryana Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board has initiated a comprehensive nominee update system to strengthen the welfare of construction workers. The board offers various schemes that can benefit the dependents and nominated individuals after the demise of construction workers. The new process aims to facilitate the management and distribution of benefits to enrolled individuals.
He highlighted that all construction workers registered with the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board must update their nominee’s information. This proactive measure ensures that the nominee’s information is secured accurately. Additionally, beneficiaries will be promptly informed about their current nominated individuals after the verification of work slips. The goal is to maintain transparency and keep construction workers informed about their nominated individuals who are eligible for scheme benefits.
Sh. Ranjan said that after depositing the fees, beneficiaries will receive an SMS confirming the receipt of fees and verifying information about the nominated individual. Furthermore, an SMS will be sent after submitting a benefit application, informing that their application has been received. The message will include details about the current nominee individual.
He further stated that the process of changing the nominee has been simplified. Now, construction workers can easily update their nominee details by submitting an application to the concerned district officer. To keep the process dynamic and responsive, annual notifications will be sent out. These messages serve as reminders and updates, ensuring workers are consistently aware and have the opportunity to make changes if necessary.
