Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has stated that Haryana’s Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) scheme is gaining appreciation across the nation. The Chief Minister was interacting with media late evening today at the Canal Rest House, Rohtak.
Sh. Manohar Lal stated that discussions about Haryana’s PPP scheme are happening at the national and global levels. He stated that recognizing the popularity of this scheme, the central government extended an invitation for the display of the Parivar Pehchan Patra during the Republic Day parade on January 26. The Chief Minister added that other state governments are also progressing towards implementing the PPP scheme. The previous Congress government had initiated the process of implementing this scheme in Rajasthan.
Referring to the PPP as the ‘Poor People Protection Card,’ Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal stated that the scheme is actively safeguarding the rights of the poor. He emphasized that through this scheme, eligible families are availing the benefits of both central and state government schemes from the ease of their homes. The scheme also simplifies the process of obtaining various certificates for the beneficiaries. The Chief Minister remarked that in the past, commission agents were active in facilitating the benefits of services and schemes, but the PPP has put an end to such middlemen practices.
Addressing the significance of solar energy, the Chief Minister stated that increased utilization of solar energy will lead to a reduction on thermal energy dependence. He urged for maximum utilization of all options within the spectrum of solar energy. Regarding the Kusum Scheme, the Chief Minister informed that the government has issued 50,000 tube well connections so far, with an additional 70,000 connections planned for the future. Subsidies are also being provided to farmers on electricity. The government allocates additional funds in crores to the Power Utilities for this purpose.
