Chandigarh, April 6 :
Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Sh. Harvinder Kalyan said the banking sector plays an important role in the country’s economy. The network of banks is quite widespread in cities as well as villages. Today, there is a bank in one out of every 5 to 10 villages and there is a need to expand this system further. More and more services should be made available in rural areas through banks so that they can get the benefits of government schemes.
Sh. Harvinder Kalyan was speaking as the chief guest at the Karnal Zone Conference organized by the Bank Workers’ Organization in Karnal. He said dialogue is the central point of the democratic system under the Constitution of India. Many big issues are resolved through dialogue. He said today, along with the workers, discussions should also be held with the stakeholders to whom we provide our services.
He said today we envision India to become a developed country by 2047 and this resolution is not only of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi but of the whole country. Such an objective is not possible without a balanced mindset because today everyone talks about rights but before rights, one should worry about one’s duties as well. This will prove effective in taking the country forward. I am happy that Canara Bank and its entire family is making an important contribution to the progress of the nation today, he added.
