Chandigarh, May 31
The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, in coordination with the Police Department and the Marketing Committee, conducted an anti-encroachment drive today in Sabji Mandi, Sector 26.
Following the directions of MC Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, the enforcement team actively cleared unauthorized structures and obstructions, including rheris, wooden planks, plastic crates, and balance tables.
During the drive total 42 challans were issued on the spot for violations of Municipal norms. The drive was aimed at maintaining public order, ensuring free pedestrian movement, and upholding cleanliness in the market area.
The Municipal Corporation reiterated its commitment to keeping public spaces free from encroachment and urged vendors to cooperate by operating within designated zones. Such drives will continue regularly to ensure proper enforcement and improved urban management.
