Chandigarh, August 17 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that during the tenure of the previous Congress government, development remained limited to political agenda, and the aspirations of the people were largely ignored. In contrast, the present BJP government has put an end to this approach and has actively worked to integrate every region into the mainstream of development.
The Chief Minister was addressing the public meeting held in Narwana today, organized by the State Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi.
Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that Jind district has historically been a center of political struggle, but the Congress government deliberately kept Narwana behind in the race for development. He added that previous administrations neither understood the basic needs of the people nor took concrete steps for their upliftment. Without naming the opposition directly, he said that some individuals only tweet for political show and claim Narwana as their home, while in reality, they never genuinely cared about the city’s development.
Real development in Narwana began only after 2014
Comparing the figures, Chief Minister said that since 2014, the present BJP government has implemented development works worth Rs. 2,105 crore in the Narwana assembly constituency, while the previous Congress government had carried out works worth only Rs. 607 crore during its tenure. This stark difference clearly demonstrates who genuinely served the public and who merely indulged in politics.
The Chief Minister said that the BJP government has not only made promises but has also ensured their implementation on the ground. Over the past ten and a half years, 111 announcements were made for Narwana constituency, out of which 98 have been fully completed, and work on the remaining six is progressing rapidly. He further stated that a total of 628 development announcements have been made for the entire Jind district, of which 541 have been completed, with the rest underway. These figures provide clear evidence that the BJP government’s focus is not mere political showmanship but ensuring development reaches every village and town.
Referring to the unprecedented development works in the Narwana Assembly constituency, Chief Minister said that national highway passing through here has been expanded to four lanes at a cost of Rs. 1,393 crore. Similarly, the Ambala-Hisar via Kaithal National Highway (NH-10) has been widened to four lanes at a cost of Rs. 1,200 crore. The Ambala-Kotputli Greenfield Corridor (NH-152D) is providing a new boost to the state’s economy and connectivity at a cost of Rs. 10,640 crore. The Jind-Gohana-Sonipat National Highway (NH-352A) has been made four lane at a cost of Rs. 2,300 crore, while the highway from Jind to the Haryana-Punjab border has been widened to four lanes at a cost of Rs. 959 crore. Additionally, construction of the Government Medical College at Haibatpur in Jind is underway at a cost of Rs. 945 crore.
Highlighting welfare schemes for the poor, Sh Nayab Singh Saini stated that 7,54,000 Ayushman Chirayu cards have been issued in Narwana Assembly, enabling free treatment claims worth Rs. 55 crore for around 50,000 beneficiaries. Under the Har Ghar Har Grahini Yojana, more than 82,700 families are receiving subsidized gas cylinders for Rs. 500. Furthermore, 5,368 houses have been constructed in the district under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, with 1,000 more currently under construction.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi, Haryana is advancing rapidly on the path of development. He added that the Prime Minister has pledged to make India a developed nation by 2047, with Haryana playing a key and decisive role in this vision.
Referring to national security achievements, the Chief Minister highlighted that the recent Operation Sindoor showcased India’s indigenous technology, modern weaponry, and strategic strength to the world. He praised the bravery of the Indian armed forces, adding that they have not only defended the nation’s borders but also demonstrated India’s power and self-reliance globally. He further mentioned that through Operation Mahadev, the forces punished the perpetrators behind the Pahalgam incident, sending a clear message that the Indian Armed Forces is prepared to face every challenge.
The Chief Minister also emphasized the government’s performance, stating that in just 10 months, 41 out of the 217 promises made in the Sankalp Patra during the assembly elections have been fulfilled, with 90 more slated for completion this year. To provide employment to the youth, the government has so far appointed 30,000 young people to government jobs, bringing the total to over 1,80,000 appointments based entirely on transparency and merit. He also detailed several schemes being implemented for farmer welfare.

Convener of the public meeting and Haryana Cabinet Minister Krishna Kumar Bedi, in his address, said that Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini is truly a symbol of service and dedication. He said that as soon as the Chief Minister assumed office, he laid out a new roadmap for development across the state. He pointed out that for many years, the Narwana region had been deprived of basic facilities such as education, healthcare, and security, and the pace of development was minimal. Today, Jind is connected to nine national highways. Dr. Midha highlighted that initiatives such as the Khet Khaliyan Yojana, launched by the Chief Minister, are benefiting farmers, while a medical college is being constructed in Jind at a cost of Rs. 945 crore. He further emphasized that youth in the state are receiving government jobs purely on merit. He also praised Cabinet Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi for continuously driving development in Narwana.
