Meet Hayer hands over appointment letters to 23 coaches

       Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer on Wednesday handed over appointment letters to newly recruited 23 coaches.          Handing over the appointment letters to the coaches recruited for the Khelo India Center in his office at the Punjab Civil Secretariat here today, Meet Hayer said that the state Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has formulated a new Sports policy to make Punjab the number one state in the country in sports.          Meet Hayer said that the responsibility of implementing this sports policy is on the coaches of the department who have to prepare the players for national and international level competitions by preparing a new format. He congratulated the coaches and asked them to work diligently and hard in their allotted centers and bring good results.          Among the coaches who got appointment letters are seven coaches of Athletics, five of Wrestling, four of Football, two of Hockey and one each of Badminton, Boxing, Cycling and Fencing.          On this occasion, Special Chief Secretary of Sports Department Sarvjit Singh, Director Harpreet Singh Sudan, Deputy Director Parminder Singh Sandhu and Assistant Director Ranvir Singh Bhangu were also present. 

IPRM Chetan Singh Jauramajra launches Online Accreditation Portal for journalists

Marking a significant milestone in efficiency and transparency, Punjab Information and Public Relations Minister S. Chetan Singh Jauramajra on Wednesday launched an online portal, designed to streamline the process of journalists obtaining their accreditation, in his office here at Punjab Civil Secretariat-1. The portal, designed for the Department of Information and Public Relations and developed by the NIC Punjab, promises to revolutionize the process of issuing the identity to media persons.          The Cabinet Minister S. Chetan Singh Jauramajra, while inaugurating the portal, expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts put forth by the DIPR and NIC Punjab in creating this innovative tool. He emphasized Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann led government’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for journalism and reaffirmed the administration’s unwavering support for a free and responsible press.          He said, this milestone initiative comes as part of government’s commitment to bolstering transparency, accountability and accessibility within the realm of journalism, adding that the portal is poised to revolutionize the accreditation process by harnessing the power of technology and ensuring that journalists can focus on their crucial work without undue administrative burdens.          With the launch of this state-of-the-art portal, S. Chetan Singh Jauramajra said that aspiring and established journalists can navigate the application process with ease and convenience. By utilizing the platform, they can submit their documents, verify their credentials and gain accreditation in an efficient and timely manner.          Mr. Adil Azmi, OSD/Chief Minister (Media) Punjab said that immediately after assuming the charge of his office, Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann had instructed the officials of the Information and Public Relations Department to ensure that all matters related to journalists should be resolved on priority. He added that this initiative of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann government will prove to be a milestone for the journalists.          Secretary IPR Mr. Malwinder Singh Jaggi informed that online accreditation platform will allow journalists to submit their accreditation applications digitally. He said, gone are the days of lengthy paperwork and delays, adding that now, with just a few clicks, journalists can provide their personal information, media organization details and relevant documentation for verification.          Mr. Jaggi said that the new system includes several key features designed to enhance the accreditation process like this pioneering platform will allow journalists to submit their applications from the comfort of their own workplaces, whether at the district or state level. He said that the initiative aims to significantly streamline the accreditation process, minimizing manual intervention and reducing approval times.          Director IPR Mr. Bhupinder Singh said that journalists can now submit their applications directly from their doorsteps, eliminating the need to travel to regional or state offices. This innovative approach will save time and resources for journalists working in diverse regions.          On this occasion, Deputy Director (Press) Mr. Ishwinder Singh Grewal, Deputy Director Mr. Gurmeet Singh Khaira, DDG & SIO Punjab Mr. Vivek Verma, Sr. Director & ASIO (D) Mrs. Usha Rai and Director (IT) Mr. Pankaj Jain were also present.          Once applications are submitted on https://eservices.punjab.gov.in, the system automatically escalates them to the approval authority at the state level. The absence of manual intervention will expedite the process, ensuring quick and efficient accreditation.          Applicants receive SMS and email alerts, keeping them informed about the status of their applications and the expected time for approval. This feature helps journalists plan their coverage schedules with confidence.          In the event of objections to an application, the system enables the process to be conducted online. Applicants can address objections and make necessary adjustments directly, avoiding unnecessary visits to physical offices.          The new system, a result of close collaboration between government authorities, media organizations and NIC, aims to empower journalists with the tools they need to perform their duties effectively. By leveraging digital solutions, the platform enhances transparency, expediency and convenience in the accreditation process. 

PUNJAB CM GIVES BONANZA OF RS 4 CRORE TO RESIDENTS OF LUDHIANA

In a bid to make Ludhiana city clean, green and pollution free, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday flagged off a super suction cum jetting machine for mechanised cleaning of sewer lines in the city along with 50 Tractors. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the hi-tech Super Suction cum Jetting Machine has been bought at a cost of Rs 1.45 crore. He said that this machine will be instrumental in cleaning of 200 kilometre long main sewerage lines of the city. Bhagwant Mann said that this machine will be helpful in resolving the major issue of the sewerage problem in the city thereby giving major respite to the people. Likewise, the Chief Minister said that 50 tractors have been purchased by the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana (MCL) at a cost of Rs 2.22 crore. He said that these tractors have been bought for the various branches of the civic body including the Building and Roads (B&R), Operation and Maintenance (O&M), Health, Horticulture and others. Bhagwant Mann said that these tractors will be instrumental in lifting the debris, supply of water through tankers, collection of garbage and other operations. The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government is committed to holistic development of the cities for which no stone is being left unturned. He said that there is no dearth of funds with the state government to ensure comprehensive growth of the state and prosperity of the people. Bhagwant Mann said that apart from generous allocation of funds for the all-round development of the cities major thrust is being laid for augmenting the infrastructure required for giving fillip to these developmental works. On the occasion Cabinet Minister Balkar Singh and others were also present.

Instructions issued to all DCs of state to issue income and property certificates to economically weak individuals: Dr. Baljit Kaur

      Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities Minister, Dr. Baljit Kaur, has issued instructions to all Deputy Commissioners of the state to provide income and asset certificates to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) for availing the benefits of reservation in Government civil posts and services, as well as admission to Central Educational Institutions.          Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that it has come to her attention that income and property certificates are being obtained by many individuals in violation of the conditions set by the state government. She emphasized that the Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government, takes the issuance of income and asset certificates by ineligible persons very seriously. The state government has decided that income and asset certificates should be issued by the certificate issuing authority only after a thorough preliminary investigation, in accordance with the provisions of the instructions dated 14-5-2019 and 15-7-2019. If any such case comes to their notice in the future, departmental/criminal action will be taken against the employee/person responsible for verifying the facts while issuing income and asset certificates. Moreover, criminal action will also be initiated against individuals who have obtained income and asset certificates based on false information.          Cabinet Minister, Dr. Baljit Kaur, mentioned that detailed instructions have been issued regarding the issuance of income and asset certificates to avail the 10 percent reservation in civil posts and services for the economically weaker sections. These instructions are mentioned in the Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities Department letter No: 1/16/2019-RC 1/116, dated 14-5-2019, and No: 1/16/2019-RC1/1523189/1, dated 15-7-2019.          The Cabinet Minister has instructed all Deputy Commissioners of the state to ensure that the instructions regarding income and asset certificates are brought to the attention of the general public. She reiterated the state government’s commitment to the welfare of economically weaker sections. 

Punjab Government will fully compensate people suffered by people due to floods: Anurag Verma

      Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led State Government stands with its people in the difficult times caused by floods and is committed to fully compensate them for the loss of the people of the state. It was disclosed by Punjab Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Verma in a press communiqué after a video conferencing meeting with all the Deputy Commissioners along with the top officials.          The Chief Secretary instructed all the Deputy Commissioners to complete this work on time by following the orders given by the Chief Minister of Special Girdawari by August 15. He said that the work of Girdawari in the field should be done with complete fairness and transparency. The Deputy Commissioners should also ensure that according to the instructions of the Chief Minister, the work of Girdawari should be done on the spot.          The Chief Secretary also instructed the Deputy Commissioners and SDMs to personally visit the spot. Apart from this, compensation for loss of life and property should be given immediately. He asked the Deputy Commissioners to immediately dispose of the pending compensation cases while taking the district wise report of the compensation and Girdawari work.          Mr. Anurag Verma said that the farmers whose paddy crops were damaged due to floods are being given free paddy saplings by the State Government. He told the DCs that wherever there is a problem in the availability of paddy sapling, they should immediately contact the Agriculture Department. In this regard, Secretary Agriculture Arshdeep Singh Thind is the nodal officer. CM interacts with public representatives and eminent citizens of Rohtak Lok Sabha Constituency

Haryana Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal said that the initiative started by the State Government to have direct interaction with people’s representatives and eminent citizens is boreing fruitful results as these interactions not only bridge the gap between the government and the public but also helps the government to get real-time feedback of the public welfare schemes and services started by them. Meanwhile, continuing the same, today the Chief Minister held an interaction with the public representatives and eminent citizens of Rohtak Lok Sabha Constituency. Top officers from various departments also attended the meeting. During this, detailed discussions were held regarding the schemes related to the nine assembly constituencies and feedback of the citizens and the people’s representatives was also taken. The Chief Minister said that the government is working for the public welfare and is leaving no stone unturned to address all the issues at the grassroot levels. He further shared that he will interact with the people of Sirsa and Kurukshetra Lok Sabha on August 9 and 16, 2023. Meanwhile, during the interaction, BJP leader Shamsher kharkara suggested that such interactions should be held at least once in three months, while some citizens suggested holding of such interactions at the district level and sub-divisional level also so as to know the real time status of the scheme implementations and the problems being faced by the citizens. Notably, so far the Chief Minister has discussed the development works with the eminent citizens and public representatives of eight Lok Sabha constituencies and sought suggestions. On this occasion, MLA, Kosali, Sh. Laxman Singh Yadav, Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Sh.  B.B  Bharti, OSDs to Chief Minister, Sh.  Bhupeshwar Dayal, Sh. Jawahar Yadav, Sh Sudhanshu Gautam, former MLAs, Sh. Stern action will be taken against those making hate speeches: Haryana CM

While describing the Nuh incident as unfortunate, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal appealed   the people not to pay any heed to the rumours and maintain social harmony. Every aspect of the incident is being thoroughly investigated and action will be taken against those found guilty in this matter as per the law.Sh Manohar Lal was addressing a press conference here today.        While replying to a query, the Chief Minister said that maintaining social security and peace is the foremost priority of the State Government. The Director General of Police, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), CID and ADGP, Law and Order have been sent to Nuh and they are constantly monitoring the situation. There is no need to constitute a SIT in this case, he maintained.        In response to another question, the Chief Minister said that it is the collective responsibility of all to maintain social harmony and brotherhood and efforts should be made to resolve this problem by rising above politics. He urged all the political parties to not to politicize the issue and said that if they want to give any suggestion in this matter, the same would be considered.        In reply to yet another question, the Chief Minister said that a close vigil is also being kept on social media and added that strict action would be taken against those found making hate speeches. He said that data of people spreading misleading propaganda on social media is also being collected and action would be taken against them as per the Cyber Law. Apart from this, records of CCTV cameras and the dump data of calls is also being examined. With the help of CCTV cameras, 116 people have been arrested in the incident while 90 people have been detained, he added.         While responding to a query regarding Monu Manesar, the Chief Minister said he is wanted by the Rajasthan Police in a case.         When asked about the situation in Nuh, Sh Manohar Lal said that at present we have 20 companies of central paramilitary forces, out of which 14 have been deployed in Nuh, 3 in Palwal, 2 in Faridabad and 1 in Gurugram. Apart from this, 3 additional companies of Paramilitary Forces have been sought from the Centre.        He said that in order to prevent the re-occurrence of such an incident, a battalion of IRB consisting of around 1000 personnel would be permanently deployed at Nuh so that any untoward incident could be immediately dealt with. Besides, while further widening the scope of the Police Enforcement Bureau, it has been decided to entrust the Bureau with the responsibility of cow protection in Nuh. Hundred police personnel would be dedicatedly deployed for this purpose, he added.        He said that six people have lost their lives in this unfortunate incident, including two Home Guard jawans and four civilians. He said that the families of the deceased would be given a compensation of Rs 57 lakh each as per the policy.        On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management and Consolidation Departments, Sh  Rajesh Khullar,  Additional Chief Secretary, Home Sh T.V.S.N.  Prasad and other senior officers were also present.

Haryana Chief Minister launches an expanded version of the e-kshatipurti portal

To mitigate the hardships of citizens of the State due to the recent flood, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today launched an expanded version of the e-kshatipurti portal i.e. https://ekshatipurti.haryana.gov.in This upgraded version of the portal aims to ease the process of submission of applications by the people for their damages and loss and further to bring transparency in the system of damage verification and disbursement of compensation to the affected people in a time-bound manner. Notably, till now the farmers used to upload the details about the damage caused to their crops due to natural calamities. While addressing a press conference held here today after the launch, Sh. Manohar Lal said that this portal shall remain open till August 18, 2023, for the general public to upload their loss claims and immediate compensation will be awarded once the verification is completed.  The portal also has a provision for the villagers to share the details about claims of damage to houses, livestock and crops, while the people living in urban areas can upload the details about the commercial and movable and immovable properties.         “Through this portal, claims can also be made for the damages or loss occurred during the recent incident of violence reported in Nuh district. A special scheme will be formulated for giving compensation for the losses,” said the Chief Minister. He further said that new features have been included in the portal, in view of the recent floods due to which, loss of human life, house, commercial properties and livestock have been reported widely in the State. The general public is requested to make full use of the portal for their benefit, urged the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister said that the compensation will be calculated based on the verification reports and the same will be paid after the due process and as per the prescribed norms. “The affected citizens can register their claims through an application against the damage and loss with respect of house, livestock, crops and commercial movable property, due to flood, on the portal. The general public can upload the details of types and number of livestock lost in the disaster,” he informed. The Chief Minister further informed that in case of house damage, details like the kind of house, i.e., Kaccha or Pucca and its type of damage are required to be provided on this portal. This online process shall reduce the time, ease out the entire process of compensation claims, increase transparency and reduce corrupt practices significantly, said Sh. Manohar Lal.  Divulging the details about the compensation slabs, the Chief Minister said that maximum compensation of Rs. 50 lakh and Rs. 25 lakh respectively will be given for loss of movable and immovable properties caused due to floods in urban areas. In case of the movable property for loss up to Rs 5 lakh, a compensation of 80 percent of the loss amount, i.e. Rs 4 lakh will be given. While for the loss between Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh, 70 percent compensation will be given, for the loss between Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh, 60 percent compensation will be given, for the loss between Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 50 lakh, 40 percent compensation will be given.

Haryana Youth and Professors to Pursue Studies and Training at UK’s Cambridge Regional College

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Haryana Higher Education Department and the United Kingdom’s Cambridge Regional College, here today.With the  signing of this  MoU, now the students of government colleges in Haryana will have the opportunity to study at Cambridge Regional College. Besides, the professors will also be given an opportunity to get training there. Not only this, the students from Cambridge Regional College will also be able to pursue their studies in colleges across Haryana. It is noteworthy that Cambridge Regional College ranks among the top 10 colleges in England.In the presence of Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal and Higher Education Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma,  Director, Higher Education, Sh. Rajiv Rattan  and Assistant Principal, Cambridge Regional College, Ms. Moreen Horn signed the MOU.The exchange programme is devised in such a way whereby the faculty and students are expected to spend up to 2 Weeks in the host institution to share, learn and deliver best practices on curriculum development, innovation and technology, quality assurance process, and engagement with industry and employer.        Sh. Manohar Lal, congratulated the Higher Education Department and Cambridge Regional College for signing  the MoU . He said the MoU has been signed for mutual cooperation in the areas of job placement, sports education, English language programs, student exchange summer schools, and teacher training. He emphasized the need to diversify higher education and align it with the New Education Policy. He expressed hope that this joint effort will prepare the youth and faculty of government colleges of Haryana for job placements, self-employment, entrepreneurship, and incubation.        Sh Manohar Lal said that this MoU would open new doors of opportunities for Haryana youth and lead to the elevation of the state’s education to global standards. He hoped  that more students from abroad would come to Haryana to study subjects like Indian knowledge systems, Indian languages, Ayurveda, yoga, arts, music, history, culture, and modern India.Haryana Higher Education Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, also praised the collaboration and said that this step would further  enhance the skills of the state’s youth and professors of government colleges.        Additional Chief Secretary of the Higher Education Department Sh. Anand Mohan Sharan said that this programme would be implemented by “Global Training Education Programme” in partnership with Kingsmead. The MOU would further help students studying in colleges of Haryana to update their skills according to industry requirements, facilitating easier employment opportunities.The Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. Haryana Deputy CM welcomes the decision to place online gaming in the highest tax slab of GST

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala has welcomed the decision of the GST Council to place the money levied on online gaming in the highest tax category.        He said that any monetary exchange in online gaming whether in casino or betting or horse racing etc. will now be placed under 28 percent GST slab. With this, the country earns more revenue and illegal tax evasion will be curbed.        Sh. Dushyant Chautala was  interacting with media persons  at Haryana Bhawan in Delhi after attending the GST Council meeting.        The meeting of  GST Council was chaired by Union Finance Minister, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman.        The Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala, who also holds the portfolio of Excise and Taxation Department  attended the meeting through video conferencing from Haryana Bhawan.        The  Deputy Chief Minister said that efforts were being made for the last three years to bring online gaming in the highest tax slab. He said that now it has been agreed to levy one time 28 percent tax on the basis of face value in online gaming and apart from anything above than such as commission or platform fee etc. will not be taxed again. This suggestion was given by the online gaming companies to avoid multiple tax points. He said  that it was also suggested in the GST Council meeting from Haryana that if crypto currency is used in such trade purchases, then the Law Commission should monitor it and regularize it as well.         Sh Dushyant Chautala said that the council has also agreed to Haryana’s suggestion that in the next meeting of the council, the trading in crypto currency will be completely monitored and regulation will be brought on it. Apart from this, mobile applications (apps) run by foreign companies in India by declaring them as their agents in the country will have to be completely coordinated with the laws of the country to avoid tax evasion. From now on, online gaming money will be regularised and monitored to a great extent. Haryana had earlier also issued notices to three companies, he added.        While  responding to a question regarding the violence that took place in Nuh district on July 31, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the Haryana government took serious action on this incident. Companies of Haryana Police and Paramilitary Police Force were deployed. The IRB battalion is permanently stationed there and now the situation is completely under control. A small dharna was organized today at Delhi’s Badarpur border toll plaza, that too was opened on time. Peace teams were activated which played a vital role in restoring peace.        He said that the incident that has happened is being monitored in different ways, more than 40 FIRs have been filed, and more than 90 people have been arrested.
