IEP Chandigarh, August 19

Haryana Cooperation and Public Health Engineering Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal said that nano urea is the future of modern farming. Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal said India needs another green revolution in the form of natural farming under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which aims to ensure the highest value addition to farmers and protect farmlands from degradation. Public Health Engineering Minister Dr. Banwari Lal was speaking at a seminar on the topic ‘Importance of nano fertilizers in crop production’ organized by IFFCO in Rewari on Saturday. He added that the government is also working for land conservation and other economic and health related benefits from liquid nano fertilizers. For the economic upliftment of the farmers, the government gives a subsidy of Rs. 2,700 per bag on urea. Dr. Banwari Lal said the nano urea plant will provide multi-dimensional benefits to the agricultural economy. He said the plant will play a vital role to reduce imports of fertilizers and make India self-reliant in the field of fertilizers. The Minister also added that the nano urea will also help conserve the nutrients of the soil and ensure judicious use of fertilisers. He further said that all these problems can be overcome by the use of Nano Urea as 500 ml of liquid Nano Urea provides Nitrogen equal to one sack of Urea to the crops. Dr. Banwari Lal said that excessive exposure to urea can also lead to serious diseases like cancer, that’s why farmers are appealed to use nano urea to protect their land. Efforts are also being made to make the process of spraying Nano Urea accessible to the farmers through drones. Drones should be easily available to farmers and cooperatives at affordable prices. Work is also being done on this. The Cooperation Minister said that prosperity through cooperation has a huge contribution in the country’s GDP. Along with increasing employment, co-operatives can also bring unexpected increases in profits. Prime Minister Sh. With this, the products of Hafed, Dairy and Sugarfed will also be available to the citizens through packs and employment opportunities will also increase. On this occasion, IFFCO Director, Sh. Vijayshankar Ravi, IFFCO Haryana Director, Sh. Yogendra Kumar, IFFCO Haryana Manager, Sh. Shamsher Singh, besides other senior officers and dignitaries were present.

Under the Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana, Rs 33.26 crore has been given to more than 12 thousand farmers engaged in fruit and vegetable cultivation

830 crore was directly deposited in the accounts of the farmers who produced Bajra in two seasons,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.

Sh. Manohar Lal said that today the land holding is getting smaller. The only way to make the small land holding profitable is for the farmers to move towards horticulture and take to the cultivation of fruits, vegetables and flowers.

“Our target is to double the area under horticulture to 22 lakh acres and triple the production by the year 2030. I am sure that with the cooperation of hardworking farmers like you, we will be able to achieve this goal,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister said that the State Government has ensured that the horticulture farmers do not have to bear the brunt of fluctuating market prices, for this, a protected price has been fixed for horticulture crops under the Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana. With this system, the farmer gets to know at the time of sowing how much income he will get per acre.

The Chief Minister said that the farmers have to bear heavy losses in crops due to adverse weather also, so the government has started Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and Mukhyamantri Bagwani Bima Yojana to save the farmers from the risk of weather uncertainties. This includes 21 horticulture crops. In this, Rs 75,000 per hectare claim amount is being given for vegetables and Rs 1 lakh for fruits.

The Chief Minister said that there was a time when farmers faced challenges in receiving their rightful payments for their crops. Often, the money used gets transferred to the wrong accounts, leaving them on the receiving end. However, the present government has put an end to this practice. Approximately Rs 50,000 crore has been directly transferred to farmers’ accounts through DBT. When farmers sell their crops now, the money is promptly deposited into their accounts.

The Chief Minister also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi for introducing the Kisan Samman Nidhi, providing Rs. 6000 as assistance to farmers.

He said that the state government had installed about 53,000 solar pumps in the state last year and farmers were given subsidies for these pumps. This year also 70,000 new solar tube wells will be installed. This will also reduce the consumption of electricity and the farmer will also get a huge benefit, added Sh. Manohar Lal.

Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. DS Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Sh. Sudhir Rajpal, Divisional Commissioner, Gurugram, Sh.  RC Bidhan, Director, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Sh. Narhari Banger, Deputy Commissioner, Gurugram, Sh.
