Aapda Mitra will be made in all the villages of the state – Dushyant Chautala

 Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that ‘Aapda Mitra’ will be made in all the villages of the state, who would work as volunteers in times of disaster, soon a portal will be started to register them.This information was given by the Deputy CM, who also holds the charge of Revenue and Disaster Management Department, after attending the meeting of the Ministers of Disaster Management Department of all the states and UTs, chaired by Union Home Minister, Sh. Amit Shah, in New Delhi today.Additional Chief Secretary of Disaster Management Department, Sh. Rajesh Khullar also participated in the meeting along with the Deputy Chief Minister.While interacting with the media after the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister said that in the year 2014, the central government had sent a manual related to disaster management to all the states, It addressed a number of issues, many of which the Haryana government has already addressed, the rest will be finished by December 2023. He informed that committees of the State Disaster Management Board will be constituted at district and village level.He informed that Rs. 1,100 crores has been sanctioned this year to provide relief in times of possible calamities like flood and drought, while provision of Rs. 500 crores and Rs. 300 crores was made per year respectively in previous years. He informed that plans are being made to drain the areas where water gets filled due to rain and to pour water into canals etc., so that neither crops nor other lives and property are harmed.Sh. Dushyant Chautala informed that the state government is being alerted by sending messages through mobile etc. before a possible disaster. This year also messages related to heavy rains, strong storms etc. have been sent to the people of the state in advance.He informed that the Central Government has informed today that technology has been invented to predict fire due to lightning, Haryana government is also going to implement this technology soon in the state, due to which loss of life and property will be avoided.He informed that in today’s meeting, the Home Minister has been requested by the State Government to set up a battalion of the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) in Hisar so that help can reach immediately in case of any disaster. Haryana Government has also given training to 260 IRB jawans of National Disaster Response Force.Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that he requested the Central Government to set up a joint command centre for Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh in Chandigarh so that the forecast of the upcoming earthquake in the Kangra-seismic belt could be made. He has also requested the Central Government to include the subject related to disaster management in school and university curriculum under the new National Education Policy.

SOCIAL JUSTICE DEPARTMENT SHOULD RESOLVE 93 COMPLAINTS REGARDING FAKE SC CERTIFICATES WITHIN 15 DAYS: HARPAL SINGH CHEEMA

       Punjab Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday asked the Department of Social Justice to redress the 93 complaints received against persons acquiring government employment on the basis of fake SC certificates, within 15 days.          Chairing a meeting along with Minister for Social Justice, Empowerment and Minority Dr. Baljeet Kaur with the representatives of ‘Reservation Chor Fado Morcha’ here at Punjab Bhawan, the Finance Minister also asked the Social Justice Department to take action within a month on the list of other such cases provided by the leaders of the Morcha. He said that the department should coordinate with the Advocate General’s office to ensure concrete action regarding such cases that are under trial in various courts.          Emphasizing on creating a complete check on the practice of obtaining reservation in government jobs through fake certificates, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema asked the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities to write to all government departments to ensure that the documents related to reservation claim should be thoroughly scrutinized during the probation period of the concerned person. He also asked the department to prepare a proposal regarding the necessary reforms need in the process of making caste-based certificates so that this problem can be eradicated from the roots.          During the meeting, the representatives of the ‘Reservation Chor Fado Morcha’ discussed in detail about the cases of getting government employment on the basis of fake SC certificates. On this, Additional Chief Secretary Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Department Ramesh Kumar Ganta said that the department has so far received a total of 93 complaints out of which 26 cases have been heard and forwarded further to the Scrutiny Committee. Director Social Justice Jaspreet Singh apprised the ministers that the remaining 77 cases will also be heard soon. He assured that all these matters will be resolved within a month.

VIGILANCE BUREAU NABS ASI FOR TAKING BRIBE OF RS 10K

:The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state, on Tuesday nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI/LR) Bhupinder Singh posted at Police Station, Chatiwind (Amritsar) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the VB said the accused police official has been arrested on the complainant of Sarwan Singh, resident of village Gurwali in district Amritsar.Giving details, he added that the complainant has approached the Police Station VB Range Amritsar and lodged complaint that ASI Bhupinder Singh has demanded Rs 10,000 as a bribe to help him in getting regular bail from High Court in the case registered against him and others under sections of 323, 379-A, 427, 452, 506, 148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Police Station Chatiwind on 13-02-2023. The ASI Bhupinder Singh was investigating the case.The spokesperson informed that after preliminary investigation of this complaint, a team of VB Police Station, Amritsar Range laid a trap and arrested the accused police official red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.In this regard, a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused ASI at VB police station, Amritsar Range. Further investigation in this case was under progress.

SPEAKER CONVENES HIGH-LEVEL MEETING TO SPEED UP PROCESS FOR THE EARLY SETTLEMENT OF CASE RELATED TO DEWAN TODER MAL HAVELI

Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan today directed the officials of the Culture, Archaeology and Museums Department to speed up the process for the early settlement of the case, currently pending in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, related to the historical haveli of Diwan Todar Mal in Fatehgarh Sahib.Presiding over the meeting to ensure proper upkeep and preservation of the haveli in Vidhan Sabha, the Speaker emphasized that Diwan Todar Mal raised the voice for the protection of human rights following the ideology of our great Guru Sahib. He said that the state government will leave no stone unturned to preserve the haveli in it’s original form.S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan also assured the Secretary, Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee Bhai Sukhwinder Singh and his legal team that besides taking action for the early resolution of the case, the state government will file a application in the court for the preservation of the haveli in the upcoming monsoon season.The Speaker directed the Secretary of the Culture, Archaeology, and Museums Mr. Gurkirat Kripal Singh that considering the seriousness of the matter, he should take appropriate action for ensuring prompt hearing of the case in the High Court. Deputy Commissioner of Fatehgarh Sahib Smt. Praneet Shergill was also directed to make arrangements including boundary wall, parking, and cleanliness for the sangat coming to the haveli. The Deputy Commissioner apprised that district administration is making arrangements for the drainage of rainwater as per the directions of the High Court.S. Sandhwan asked the Additional Advocate General Mr. Sumandeep Singh Walia to designate a dedicated advocate from the Advocate General’s office for the proper follow up of the case.Bhai Lakhwinder Singh Kahneke, President, Diwan Todar Mal Virasati Foundation brought to the notice that if the restoration work of this heritage building is not done expeditiously, the building itself might deteriorate rapidly.Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included; MLA Fatehgarh Sahib S. Lakhbir Singh Rai, MLA Bassi Pathana S. Rupinder Singh, Shiromani Committee lawyer Ms. Puneet Kaur Sekhon, Additional Advocate General Mr. Sumandeep Singh Walia.

GOVERNMENT COMMITTED TO PROMOTING HERITAGE AND TRADITIONAL SPORTS ALONG WITH MODERN: MEET HAYER

The State Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to bring in a new comprehensive and effective sports policy to create a sports-friendly environment in the state and to make Punjab the number one state in sports. It was stated by Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer in his address while inaugurating the 8th Punjab State Gatka Championship at Gurudwara Ishar Prakash Ratwara Sahib here today.

The Sports Minister said that Gatka is a Martial Art Sport inherited from the Gurus, which has now been included in the National Games. With this decision, Gatka will reach even higher as a sport. Recently in the Khelo India Games, players from Punjab showed the best performance in Gatka and contributed a lot to the overall medal tally of Punjab. He said that the sports department will provide all possible help to promote this Martial Art Sport.

Meet Hayer said that the state government is making efforts to make the state number one again in sports. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, an effective new sports policy is being made which will promote sports culture in the state. Arranging coaches for the preparation of the players, increasing the diet amount, giving jobs to the players in addition to cash prizes, giving awards to the coaches etc. will be the main features of the new sports policy.

The Sports Minister said that Punjab has a rich heritage in sports and has given the country great players whose records have not been broken till date. There is no shortage of skills in Punjab, the only need is to identify and nurture this skill. He said that the state government is making efforts to create a sports-friendly environment in Punjab and also to take the youth to the sports fields.

Earlier, welcoming the Sports Minister, Rajinder Singh Sohal, President of Punjab Gatka Association said that in the 3-day 8th Punjab State Gatka Championship, about 800 boys and girls are participating in Under 14, 17, 19, 22, 25 and 28 categories.

On this occasion, Ratwara Sahib Trust Chairman Baba Lakhveer Singh blessed the players. Devinder Singh Jugni was also present on this occasion.

PUNJAB EMPLOYMENT GENERATION DEPT, MARUTI JOINTLY ORGANISE APPRENTICESHIP PLACEMENT DRIVE; 44 CANDIDATES HAND-PICKED

As a part of ongoing drive launched on the directions of Chief Minister S Bhagwant Mann to generate job opportunities for the youth of the state, Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development & Training department in association with Maruti Suzuki India Limited has organised a two-day Apprenticeship Placement Drive for the company at Multi Skill Development Centre (MSDC),  Hoshiarpur.The Maruti Suzuki India has selected as many as 44 ITI passed eligible candidates for the apprenticeship. These 44 candidates have been selected for the apprenticeship of one year in the trades of Fitter, Welder, Painter (General), Electrician, Turner, Diesel Mechanic, COPA, Machinist, Machinist (Grinder), Tool & Die, Motor Mechanic Vehicle, Tractor Mechanic etc. They will get Rs. 12,835/- as a monthly stipend and the attendance reward upto Rs.4,160/- will be given to them monthly by the company.Moreover, It will also pave a way for these 44 candidates to apply for a regular job in the multi-national Maruti Suzuki company after completion of this one year apprenticeship.Apart from this, they will be provided subsidised food, uniform and other benefits as per the company’s policy during the apprenticeship.Meanwhile, Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Mr Aman Arora congratulated to the selected candidates for their bright future ahead, while adding that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led state government is striving hard to provide maximum job opportunities to the youth.Notably, a total of 66 candidates— mobilised by the Employment Generation department and Maruti Suzuki India Limited from its own data base— participated in this drive, of which, 44 candidates got selected by Maruti Suzuki India Limited for 1 year. 

ANMOL GAGAN MAAN INVITES YOUNGSTERS TO COME FORWARD WITH INNOVATIVE BUSINESS IDEAS

Asserting to establish industry is important for a country’s progress as it augments economic and employment growth, Punjab Investment Promotion Minister Anmol Gagan Maan on Tuesday invited young entrepreneurs from Punjab to come forward with their unique business ideas.

During a function organised by Innovation Mission Punjab during its flagship Accelerator Program’s Demo day, the Minister said the State has started Innovation Mission Punjab as a public-private partnership to boost the startup ecosystem in Punjab, leading to the state’s overall economic growth and social development. It, in turn, will open avenues for employment, which has a direct impact on the levels of migration.” Speaking about the program, she informed that the IMPunjab works towards discovering, mentoring, and scaling startups by eventually making them investment ready.

Commenting on the event, Mr. Pramod Bhasin, Chairman, IMPunjab said that the Mission envisions creating a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in Punjab. Punjab has great entrepreneurial talent and has unique strengths in tourism, food, music, art, agriculture, healthcare etc.  Through IMPunjab we’ve brought together the best global investors and business leaders to mentor the entrepreneurial talent in the State. We have been able to support the early-stage startups through the Accelerator and Pollinator programs by enabling them to utilize their best potential, to drive growth and leverage the ecosystem in the state.

Innovation Mission Punjab concluded its second Accelerator Program with its Spring Cohort 2023 consisting of 50% women founders and about a third of them migrating to Punjab spread across various sectors such as Health & Wellness, Consumer Technology, Deep Tech, & FinTech. The second cohort comes on the back of the success of the first program, launched by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, where approximately 50% of the Cohort raised ~5Cr cumulatively.

The Minister congratulated the Mission on its focus to encourage entrepreneurs. She also interacted with the startups, encouraging them to continue building their companies with grit and determination.  

On this occasion, an insightful brainstorming session was held between Kanwalijit Singh from Fireside Ventures and Chairman of IMPunjab Pramod Bhasin on building successful D2C brands in India. Mr. Kanwaljit Singh congratulated the Mission on its excellent work in providing mentorship, a cornerstone to building successful startups.       

The Mission’s Board and Advisors include Saurabh Srivastava, widely acknowledged as an architect of the Indian IT Industry, noted economist and author Ajay Shah, D.S. Brar, Promoter-Chairman, GVK Bio, and award-winning film producer Bobby Bedi. The Mission also has Kawaljit Singh, Fireside Ventures, Naina Lal Kidwai, Rajan Anandan, Ido Arahoni, architect of Brand Israel.

Punjab CM hands over new colour coded stamp papers to industrialists

  In a major breakthrough aimed at facilitating the industrial growth in the state, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today handed over unique green colour coded stamp paper to two industrialists of the state. Handing over the stamp papers, the Chief Minister said that this a red letter day for the industrialists of the state. He said that this unique colour coded stamp papers is a step forward towards ushering a new era of Industrial Revolution in the state adding that the notification for this scheme was issued on May 12 this year. Bhagwant Mann said that Punjab is the first state to introduce green colored stamp papers to facilitate the entrepreneurs for setting up their units thereby giving much needed fillip to industrial growth of the state. The Chief Minister described it as a revolutionary step aimed at promoting ease of doing business for the entrepreneurs desirous of setting up their units in the state. He said that any industrialist who is keen on setting his industrial unit in the state can get this unique colour coded stamp paper from Invest Punjab Portal. Bhagwant Mann said that industrialists will have to just pay various fees required for getting clearances in form of CLU, forest, Pollution, Fire and other to set up his unit while purchasing this single stamp paper only. The Chief Minister said that after purchasing the stamp paper, these two industrialists have got all the necessary clearances from all the departments within 17 days to set up their units. He said that this first of its kind initiative by the state government will give a major fillip to the industry in Punjab. Bhagwant Mann envisioned that this will facilitate the industrialists in a big way by saving their time, money and energy. The Chief Minister further said that green color stamp paper will symbolize that the industrialist has already paid the entire fee for the clearances required for industry. He announced that the same color coding will also be implemented in other sectors like housing and others to ensure optimum utilization of the land resources on one hand and facilitating the people on the other. Bhagwant Mann envisioned that this out of the box idea will emerge Punjab as a front runner state across the country in the industrial sector. The Chief Minister expressed hope that this noble initiative will attract more investment in the state thereby generating new employment opportunities for the youth of the state. He reiterated the firm commitment of the state government to ensure the well being of every section of the society adding that every decision of his government is aimed towards this. Bhagwant Mann said that the day is not far when other states will also replicate this industrial friendly initiative of the Punjab government. 

CM unveils Punjab Vision Document 2047’

 Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday unveiled Punjab Vision Document 2047’ and described as a roadmap for a progressive and prosperous state. Releasing the document in a simple but impressive function here at his office, the Chief Minister underlined the urgent need to rejuvenate economy and fiscal health of the state. He said that this document envisages holistic development of the state when India completes 100th year of independence. Bhagwant Mann said that this document consists of nine departmentalized sections and 16 socio-economic indicator-based sub-sections focusing on the current status, major challenges that the State is facing and envisages short-term and long-term strategies to overcome these challenges. The Chief Minister said that as per document a rate of growth of the economy at 7.5 per cent p.a. by 2030 and 10 per cent by 2047 will be achieved. He said that the document also aims at bringing the investment-GSDP ratio to 25 per cent by 2030 and restoring the investment-GSDP ratio of Punjab to 32 per cent by 2047 by improving the investment climate in the State and initiating the economic governance reforms for time-bound and hassle-free clearance of industrial projects. Likewise, Bhagwant Mann said that service sector/ sunrise services like information technology-enabled services (ITES), including BPO, online education, social media and entertainment will be developed and application of digital technologies in the service sector will also be incentivized. The Chief Minister said that generation of decent jobs by boosting investment in all sectors and building a synergy between industry and educational institutions to improve employability and startup ecosystems will also be ensured through this document. He asserted that for improving the fiscal health of the economy, the suitable strategy is prudent fiscal management. Bhagwant Mann said that targets and strategies for different identified sectors have been framed keeping in mind the requirements of the State. The Chief Minister said that the core sectors include economy, finances, industry, employment, agriculture, rural development, sustainable cities and communities, infrastructure, inclusive and equitable education, health infrastructure and provisioning, achieving gender equality, natural resources, affordable and clean energy, climate action and natural resource conservation, technological advancements, governance, safety and security and intelligent traffic management system. He said that the broader aim of this document is to cater to well-being of citizens for a dignified living. Bhagwant Mann asserted that the spirit of this vision is to eradicate poverty and hunger, ensure livelihood and shelter, provision of equitable and quality education and health facilities to all, adequate sanitation network and availability of electricity. The Chief Minister said that these targets will be achieved with the aim to remove geographical and social disparities adding that this vision document aims at converging efforts of different administrative departments and agencies to achieve identified targets. He expressed hope that this document will bring greater synergies of action at every level of governance in larger public interest. Bhagwant Mann said that to achieve the targets highlighted in the document, the state government has already taken some prudent steps at different levels of administration. The Chief Minister said that the state government strives to achieve the targets set in this document by the year 2030 and 2047 respectively. He said that the state Government will put in all possible efforts and resources to achieve the targets proposed in the vision document. Bhagwant Mann envisioned that the document will put the state further on the trajectory of High economic growth thereby giving major fillip to progress of Punjab and prosperity of its people.  

WELFARE OF FOREST WORKERS ALWAYS A PRIORITY WITH PUNJAB GOVERNMENT: LAL CHAND KATARUCHAK

The Forest workers are a very important part of the set up of the department and their welfare is always a priority with the State Government led by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. This was stated by the Forest and Wildlife Preservation Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak today at the Forest Complex in Sector 68 while meeting the representatives of the Democratic Janglat Mulazam Union.  The Minister gave a very patient hearing to various demands put forward by the Union such as the updating of seniority lists, giving employment on daily wage basis to the kin of deceased employees, Uniforms for summer and winter seasons, first aid facilities, proper equipment, and salary by the 5th of every month to the adhoc employees and they are being resolved on priority basis. Divulging further, the Minister said that the toilets are coming up in nurseries of the forest Department throughout the State in order to provide basic amenities to the workers employed there especially the women. “The State Government during the past one year has provided 29000 jobs to the youth of the State which is a clear proof of the pro people approach being adopted by it”, added Mr. Kataruchak. Among others present on the occasion included the Financial Commissioner (Forests) Vikas Garg and the PCCF R.K. Mishra.
