Haryana Takes Proactive Steps to Convert Paddy Straw into Income Source for Farmers: CS

Haryana has been implementing proactive measures to transform paddy straw, which was once seen as an environmental hazard, into a valuable source to enhance farmers’ income. These measures include the announcement of a Common Determined Rate (CDR) of Rs. 2500 per Metric ton for paddy straw, as well as the continued provision of financial support for In-situ/Ex-situ techniques and the Direct Seeded Rice (DSR) technique in paddy cultivation.        Additionally, Haryana has successfully reduced farm fires by about 40 percent as compared to the previous year. These efforts underscore Haryana’s commitment to sustainable agricultural practices and its dedication to mitigate environmental challenges.        This was disclosed in the meeting conducted to review of the state’s actions plan and preparedness for tackling paddy straw burning by the Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal along withChairman of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), Mr. M.M. Kutty here today. Additional Chief Secretary, Environment Department, Mr.  Vineet Garg, Chairman Haryana Pollution Control Board, Mr. P. Raghavendra Rao and Director Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare. Mr. Narhari Banger were present in the meeting, While all Deputy Commissioners attened meeting through Video Conferencing.        For achieving the goal of zero farm fires in the state, the Chief Secretary said that the state government has notified CDR of Rs. 2500 per metric ton, with an additional Rs. 500 per metric ton for moisture content below 20 percent. Moreover, Haryana is providing financial support to farmers, including Rs. 1000 per acre for In-situ/Ex-situ techniques, Rs. 7000 per acre under Mera Pani Meri Virasat Scheme and Rs. 4000 per acre for DSR technique in paddy cultivation. These initiatives aim to support farmers in maximizing their income while promoting sustainable agricultural practices in the state.        Mr. Kaushal emphasized the measures taken to convert paddy straw into biofuel. It was revealed during the meeting that the state government has set a target to utilize 13,54,850 metric tons of paddy straw in industrial units throughout Haryana. These initiatives showcase Haryana’s proactive stance towards sustainable agricultural practices and the effective utilization of agricultural waste for productive purposes.        In was apprised in the meeting that the Government of India under the Crop Residue Management scheme has allocated Rs. 300 crore for the promotion agricultural mechanism for In- situ management of Crop residue in the state of Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and NCT Delhi.        Mr. Kaushal emphasized the importance of promoting Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities in all districts, as well as raising awareness among farmers about the detrimental effects of stubble burning. He urged Deputy Commissioners to actively engage with farmers’ unions. As per the district’s action plan, he directed the immediate activation of relevant groups, while personally monitoring progress on a daily basis. In addition, the Deputy Commissioner should convene separate meetings with concerned officers every 15 days. To disseminate information about incentive amounts provided to farmers and the availability of agricultural equipment, press conferences should be organized. The Chief Secretary emphasized that stubble burning adversely affects the general public, hence educational institutions, religious organizations, and village panchayats should also be involved in raising awareness about this issue.The Chairman of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM). Mr. M. M Kutty said that Haryana has done better work in the direction of stubble management to reduce air pollution, but incidents of stubble burning have to be brought to zero. For this, the officers of the district administration need to work harder in this direction. Farmers should be provided with modern agricultural machinery so that stubble can be managed properly. He said that farmers of nearby districts should be made aware to deliver stubble to the ethanol plant set up at IOCL Panipat for stubble management. Inspire the farmers to adopt the stubble as a business instead of burning it.  Apart from this, encourage industrial units to use the straw. Bhiwani Emerges as Leading Hub for Fiber-Related Textile Industries, Catering to 70% of National Demand: Deputy CM

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Dushyant Chautala reiterated the strong alliance between the BJP and JJP, emphasizing the government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of farmers and the general public. He said that farmers in Haryana are receiving higher rates for their sunflower crops compared to neighboring states like Punjab and Rajasthan. This highlights the opposition’s disregard for the farmers’ interests.         During a press conference held at the residence of Ram Mehar Singh, a renowned international player and coach of the Indian Kabaddi team in Bhiwani, the Deputy Chief Minister highlighted the government policies on enhancing infrastructure for the betterment of the public. Recently, the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Mr. Nitin Gadkari, unveiled projects worth Rs. 3700 crore for Haryana. Notably, the four-laning of the Hansi to Jind and Jind to Kaithal roads has received approval, along with the construction of the CC road from Shahbad to Radaur in Kurukshetra via Babain and Yamuna Nagar. These initiatives will significantly bolster the state’s road infrastructure. Additionally, the government actively encourages the establishment of new industries in Haryana.        The Deputy Chief Minister further emphasized the government’s efforts in promoting industrial growth through favorable policies. Over the past three and a half years, Bhiwani has emerged as a prominent hub for fiber-related textile industries, satisfying 70 percent of the country’s demand. Industrial operators in Bhiwani have greatly benefited from the state’s industrial policy. Additionally, under the Padma policy, the government has granted permission for the establishment of two industrial blocks in Bhiwani.        Earlier, Mr. Dushyant Chautala redressed the public grievances at Devi Lal Sadan in Bhiwani.

Umashankar, PSCM, who is also the Chairman of HSIIDC, unveiled the “Haryana Udyog Mitra” mobile application. This intuitive app allows allottees to seamlessly conduct their day-to-day business transactions with HSIIDC from the convenience of their homes. As a key component of the digital transformation journey, the app consolidates all traditional offline services into a unified platform, accessible 24/7. It is available for both Android and iOS platforms, catering to a wide range of users.        Mr. Anand Mohan Sharan, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Commerce unveiled two additional digital initiatives – the Chatbot and WhatsApp Messaging services. With these innovative services, allottees can receive digitally signed approvals; make payments, track services, access water bills, RLAs, and more in real time through WhatsApp Messaging. The Chatbot feature facilitates instant interaction with the corporation, providing services such as application status tracking, outstanding dues, plot status, frequently asked questions (FAQs), and more.        The introduction of these digital services signifies HSIIDC’s commitment to leveraging technology for the benefit of its stakeholders and ushering in a new era of convenience and accessibility in business transactions. The corporation remains dedicated to embracing digital transformation to enhance its services and ensure a seamless experience for its allottees.

Chief Minister brings cheer on the faces of children under “HARIHAR” scheme

 The “HARIHAR” scheme implemented by the State Government for providing educational, financial and employment benefits to the abandoned and surrendered children brought cheer to several faces as Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal today handed over appointment letters for jobs in government departments to 11 children.           Sh Manohar Lal handed over appointment letters at a programme organized at Chief Minister’s residence Sant Kabir Kutir here today. The Minister of State for Women and Child Development Smt. Kamlesh Dhada was also present on this occasion.These children have been appointed to Group-C and Group-D posts in Departments of School Education, Health, Urban Local Bodies, Health, Women and Child Development and Office of Deputy Commissioner, Kaithal.Additional Chief Secretary, Women and Child Development, Dr. Sumita Misra apprised the Chief Minister that Haryana is the first state in the country where such a unique scheme “HARIHAR” (Homeless, Abandoned and Surrendered Children Rehabilitation initiative Haryana) has been started for the upliftment of destitute children. She said that 11 children including nine girls and two boys have been given appointment letters today.        The eligible beneficiaries who have been selected for Haryana Government Group C and D jobs under the policy included Aditi, Prarthana, Madhavi, Madhulika, Neelima, Anadi, Sudha, Sarita, Divya, Kanhiya and Himanshu.The State Government has notified the “HARIHAR” policy for providing educational, financial and employment benefits to the abandoned and surrendered children who have completed 18 years of age from child care institutions of the state and were abandoned before the age of 5 years or surrendered before the age of 1 year. Under this scheme, free school and higher education including technical education, skill development and industrial training and after care stay, rehabilitation and financial assistance at the rate of Rs 2500 per month upto the age of 25 years of marriage whichever is earlier are provided. Apart from this one-time interest free loan for purchase of a house in Haryana State at the time of marriage of beneficiaries is also given. Similarly, jobs on compassionate ground are provided to abandoned and surrendered children, who were admitted to child care institutions before the age of five years (as Abandoned) and before the age of one year (as Surrendered) and who have completed the age of 18 years in Child Care Institutions, upto the age of 25 years, and who possess the required qualification.        On this occasion, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sh V. Umashankar, Deputy Principal Secretary Sh K.M Pandurang and other officers of Women and Child Development Department were also present. 

Punjab CM vows to ensure supply of canal water at the tail end of the last field in the state

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday reiterated the firm commitment of his government to ensure canal water at the tail end of the last field in the state.In a statement issued here today, the Chief Minister said that the state government is duty bound for this noble cause. He said already due to strenuous efforts of the state government water has reached the far flung areas of Fazilka districts. Bhagwant Mann said that the state government had delivered a promise made to cotton cultivators of the state that canal water will reach their fields from April 1. Expressing deep concern over the gravity of the emerging situation due to the fast depleting water table, the Chief Minister said almost all the blocks in the state are in the dark zone as far as the groundwater is concerned. Bhagwant Mann said that it has happened due to reckless pumping of water in fields adding that the trend needs to be checked immediately so that our future generations do-not have to strive for water. He said that optimum utilisation of canal water can reduce the burden on ground water thereby checking its depletion. The Chief Minister said that the state government is taking massive steps for optimum utilisation of the canal water to save the groundwater. He said that at present Punjab is using only 33%-34% of its canal water adding that this will be enhanced in the coming days. Bhagwant Mann envisioned that if Punjab can enhance the canal water utilisation to 60% in first phase then nearly four lakh tubewells out of total 14 lakh can be stopped thereby helping in saving water.

Deputy CM urges citizens to embrace yoga to keep body and mind healthy

Dushyant Chautala said that it is a matter of pride for all of us that since 2015, continuous programmes are being organized to mark International Yoga Day. Narendra Modi, said that at present work is being done to promote yoga even in remote areas.Describing yoga as extremely beneficial for mental balance, he said that today Yoga Day programs are being organized in about 177 countries around the world. Yoga is the medium of stress-free life, says Haryana CM

Manohar Lal said that Yoga has been included in the school curriculum in the State so as make Yoga a part of the lifestyle right from the beginning. He said that this way, we can realize Swami Dayanand Saraswati’s message given in Satyarth Prakash’s ‘Healthy mind lives in a healthy body’ in a real manner.The Chief Minister was addressing yoga practitioners and students at the State Level Yoga Day programme organized at Shivaji Stadium in Panipat on the occasion of International Yoga Day today.The Chief Minister started his address with Yoga: Karmasu Kaushalam. He said that yoga works as a medicine for many diseases; therefore we should do yoga regularly.He said that Prime Minister, Sh Narendra Modi got recognition to Yoga at the international level by getting a resolution passed in the United Nations General Assembly in the year 2015.  This year by giving the theme “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, he has also given a message to the G-20 group of countries about the significance of Yoga in human life.        The Chief Minister called upon the people to make collective efforts to promote yoga. Haryana Police organizes Yoga event to mark 9th International Yoga Day

 To celebrate the 9th International Day of Yoga, Haryana Police organized the State level Yoga event at the Police Officers Institute in Panchkula. The event witnessed the participation of the Director General of Police (DGP) Haryana, Sh. P.K. Agrawal, along with other senior police officers and personnel. Under the guidance of instructors, they actively practiced various yoga asanas during the event.During the event, messages from Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal was broadcast live.Addressing the gathering, the DGP congratulated everyone and highlighted that the International Day of Yoga has been celebrated globally for the past nine years. International Yoga Day was celebrated in a grand manner in Gurugram district today under the theme ‘Har Ghar, Aangan Yoga’. Rajya Sabha MP and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President, Sh. JP Nadda on Wednesday participated in the International Yoga Day programme at Tau Devi Lal Stadium at Sector-38, Gurugram.He inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. On this occasion, Bhiwani-Mahendragarh MP, Sh. Dharmbir Singh and BJP State President, Sh. Om Prakash Dhankhar were also present as a special guest.Sh. Nadda said every year International Yoga Day is celebrated on June 21 worldwide.
