WHEAT ARRIVAL AND PURCHASE CROSSES LAST YEAR MARK

IEP Chandigarh, April 28

Wheat arrivals crossed 105 Lakh Metric Tons across the Mandis in the State today and surpassed the last year arrivals of 102.7 Lakh MT wheat that arrived in mandies during the entire Rabi season last year. Further, more than 100 LMT has already been purchased by the Government Agencies thus beating the total purchase of 96.45 Lakh Metric tons by the Govt Procurement Agencies during the entire Rabi season last year. 

Sharing these details the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister, Lal Chand Kataruchak said that 4.5 Lakh MT wheat has arrived today in the mandies and with this trend, total procurement of wheat will be atleast 20 lakh MT more than the previous season. 

The Minister further said that the hard working farmers of the State have  once again proved that Punjab is on the top in ensuring the Food Security of the nation, as the State is set to contribute more than 50% wheat in Central pool this year. 

Expressing satisfaction at MSP Payments to the farmers, the Minister said that breaking all previous year records, 18366 Crores has been released for payment to 5,72,822 farmers as MSP, till today and it is being ensured that payments are released to farmers within 48 hours of purchase   

The Minister further added that acting on the directions of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for ensuring complete transparency in the procurement of wheat, the Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) has been implemented in the State during the ongoing wheat procurement season. The number of vehicles with GPS fitted on them has increased to more than 30000 as on date and more than 202250 online gate passes have been issued through the VTS, till now.

Cabinet led by CM mourns death of former CM Parkash Singh Badal

 The Punjab Cabinet led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today mourned the death of former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal by observing two minutes silence. At the very outset, the Cabinet paid tributes to the Akali patriarch by observing two minutes silence. The entire council of Ministers paid tributes to departed soul and prayed to Almighty to grant eternal peace to departed soul and courage to bereaved family members for bearing the irreparable loss.

Haryana Home Minister meets Australia’s City Services and Transport Minister Christopher James Steel

 Haryana Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij called on Australian Minister for City Services and Transport, Mr. Christopher James Steel in Canberra, Australia today. During this, discussions and deliberations were held regarding cooperation between Haryana and Australia on various subjects. These mainly include health, transport, education etc.During the meeting, City Services and Transport Minister of Australia Mr. Christopher James Steel expressed his desire to cooperate with Haryana in the above areas. During the meeting, Sh. Vij invited Mr. Christopher James Steel to come to Haryana, on which Mr. Steel accepted the invitation and expressed his desire to come to Haryana. During the meeting, Mr. Steel told Sh. Vij that he wished to work with Haryana in future so that mutual relations could be further strengthened.It is worth mentioning that discussions have been held between various organizations and bodies of Haryana with the Australian Government for short-term employment-oriented courses, which are expected to be finalized soon.

Gita’s message of world peace, love and brotherhood, need of the hour for every human: Chief Minister

With the endeavours of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal to take the universal knowledge of Shrimad Bhagwad Gita to every nook and corner of the world, International Gita Mahotsav is being celebrated in Australia this time.Addressing virtually at the opening ceremony of the International Gita Mahotsav at the Federal Parliament, Canberra, Australia today, the Chief Minister said that at present when the whole world is facing war, terrorism, violence and tension; the message of world peace, love and brotherhood given in Gita is the need of the hour for every human being.“It is a matter of pride for all of us, especially the residents of Haryana, that the International Gita Mahotsav has been organized in Australia with the joint efforts of voluntary organizations of Australia and Kurukshetra Development Board,” he added.Sh. Manohar Lal said that Gita is such a supernatural light, which is beyond time, country and boundaries, which is eternal, universal and everlasting. “As Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi says that Shrimad Bhagwad Gita is meaningful for various aspects of life; under his guidance, the Haryana government is making efforts to take the knowledge of Gita to every nook and corner of the world,” he said.A delegation led by Haryana Home and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij has gone to Australia to participate in the International Gita Mahotsav. The delegation includes Gita Manishi Swami Sh. Gyananand Maharaj and Panipat MLA Mahipal Dhanda.Sh. Haryana Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that “The Gita preached by Shri Krishna is not for any religion, caste, region and language, it is for the entire humanity.  He said that every statement of Shri Krishna ji unties the knots of human life and it is also called the key to success. Apart from this, he said that we will spread the message of Gita to all the countries of the world gradually.

Sh. Vij was addressing the gathering as the chief guest at the Opening Ceremony of the International Gita Mahotsav at the Federal Parliament, Canberra, Australia today.  On this occasion, he released the book Geeta Prerna.  In this program, Sh. Vij was also honored by wearing a turban. Geeta Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj, Swami Sudarshan Anand Ji, MLA from Panipat Mahipal Dhanda, various ambassadors, commissioners and Senator and Chief Minister of Australia Government were also present on this occasion.

He said that we all have become a part of history by organizing the International Gita Mahotsav in this auditorium in the Australian Parliament. The extent to which Gita ji is propagated is less.  He said that whenever a crossroad comes in your life, you do not know where to go, whether to go east or west, north or south, then it is written in Geeta ji that ‘phakat shaastr ko bana rahanuma, kee karana hai kya, tujhe karana hai kya na.

He said that if you open Geeta ji, you will find answers to all your questions.  Geeta ji undoubtedly during the war of Mahabharata, when Arjuna dropped his weapons, Lord Shri Krishna preached Geeta to him.  He said that the wise people, the people who know, do not grieve for those who die, and Shri Krishna has told about all kinds of knowledge, including Gyan Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, and Karma Yoga.  Maximum emphasis has been given on Karma Yoga that we have to do our work without worrying about the result, we have to execute our work. Haryana Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that “coming so far away from our land and preserving the values and culture despite the glitter of dollars is a commendable work and in this ‘Association of Haryana in Australia’ is working well.Sh. Vij was addressing the gathering at a get-to-gather programme organized at the residence of Sh. Sewa Singh, President of Association of Haryana in Australia, at his residence in Sydney city.The Home Minister said that the ‘Association of Haryana in Australia’ is doing excellent work to preserve its values and culture and this is a good initiative. In Australia, work is being done to celebrate festivals according to their culture so that the coming generations can be introduced to their values and culture and they also continue to celebrate their festivals in the same way in future.Sh. Vij said that by forming this type of association, if there is any problem in our country and our state from time to time, then the people of the association can participate actively, as the association has cooperated for the people during Covid. He said that the ‘Association of Haryana in Australia’ helped the people of Haryana even during Covid, which is commendable. He said that ‘Association of Haryana in Australia’ is promoting mutual brotherhood and has been working to nurture the roots of Haryana culture.During this, President of ‘Association of Haryana in Australia’ Sewa Singh while giving information about the activities of the association said that our association is working closely with the Foreign Cooperation Department of the Haryana Government and to promote Haryana culture in Australia. Various programs have been organized from time to time. He apprised that along with providing sports equipment etc. to various sports organizations located in Haryana, our association also helped during Covid time. He also said that during Covid, on the request of Health Minister Sh. Anil Vij, a concentrator worth Rs. one crore, 2500 oximeters and 3000 thermal guns were sent from Australia. He said that our association has chapters in cities like Melbourne, Adelaide etc. through which various programs are organized to promote Haryanvi culture.On this occasion, Home Minister Anil Vij was being honored by the office bearer of ‘Association of Haryana in Australia’. Along with this, MLA Randhir Singh Golan and MLA Mahipal Dhanda were also honored by the office bearers of the association. About 36 thousand patients underwent free lab tests

IEP SAS Nagar, April 26

Deputy Commissioner S.A.S. Nagar Mrs. Aashika Jain said that large number of people are taking advantage of the Aam Aadmi Clinics established by the Punjab government in the state, under which all kinds of medicines and tests are done free of cost.

The Deputy Commissioner said that in S.A.S. district 28 Aam Aadmi Clinics functioning and about 3 lakh patients have been successfully treated free of cost and along with this free lab tests have also been done for about 36 thousand patients.

She said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has started Aam Aadmi clinics to provide free basic health facilities, check-ups and medicines to the people of the state. Where large number of patients are availing basic healthcare facilities of checkup and medicine near their homes without any problem.

The Deputy Commissioner said that these Aam Aadmi clinics have reduced the problems of people like long ques in the hospitals. With the opening of Aam Aadmi Clinics, the pressure on OPDs in government hospitals has already reduced, patients are getting free medicines and check-up facilities near their homes.

She said that the government hospitals are also now being freed from the burden of OPD to a large extent and specialist doctors and medical staff are continuously treating patients.

Newly recruited Rupinderjit Bains express gratitude towards Punjab Government after got job

The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has provided 28,873 government jobs to the eligible youth of the state during the first year of its tenure, as a result of which the youth of the state are giving up the way to go abroad.Rupinderjit Bains, who got a job as a clerk in the Public Works Department, born in village Bhaini, district Rupnagar and married in village Nain Kalan, Patiala, told that the Punjab government was securing the future of thousands of youths of the state by giving them employment. She said that the youngsters who got jobs will spend their lives in Punjab instead of going abroad and will serve the people of the state and contribute to making the state ‘Rangla Punjab’.Ms. Bains said that I have fulfilled my parents’ dream by getting a government job. She said that my father is a retired head teacher and it was his sincere wish that I get best education and stand on my own feet. She said that the Punjab government has empowered me by giving me a government job. She says that I am able to support my family financially with this.

MEET HAYER BATS FOR SEARCHING & NURTURING TALENT AT GRASSROOTS LEVEL

       Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer spoke about nurturing the talent of sportspersons at the grassroots level in order to take the country forward in the field of sports. Along with this, he also stressed on increasing the scope and time of trials to bring in the right talent.          Speaking during the two-day National conference organised by the Union Sports Ministry and Manipur Government, of the Sports Ministers of all the States/UTs of the country at Imphal, Meet Hayer praised the unique initiatives taken by various states in the field of sports. He also mentioned the measures being taken by Bhagwant Mann led State Government. He said that everyone should take inspiration from each other and move forward together. During this session, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur while endorsing the issues raised by Meet Hayer, emphasizing giving boost to the talent hunt program.          Meet Hayer gave the example of athlete Akshdeep Singh of Punjab and said that the athlete who came to join the army, was recognised by the coach and now he has qualified for the Paris Olympics. Appreciating the efforts of the Bihar Government, Meet Hayer said that the sports trials of the Punjab Institute of Sports are also being conducted for a month instead of a day so that the real talent comes out.          The Sports Minister further said that for the preparation of big sports events including the Olympics, attention will have to be paid to the grooming of players at the ground level. The Punjab Government will give Rs. 16000 per month for one year to the National Medal winners under the Hockey Olympian Balbir Singh Senior Scholarship Scheme which will motivate the players for coming out with good performances.          Talking about the talent of Punjabi sportsmen, Meet Hayer gave the example of wrestling competitions of the Commonwealth Games where wrestlers Amarveer Singh Dhesi and Mandhir Singh Cooner who won medals from Canada and England respectively were of Punjabi origin and the other medal winner from Pakistan was also from West Punjab. He said that Punjabis have immense potential and the State Government is working tirelessly to provide a platform to emerging players by identifying this talent.          After the conclusion of the session, Sports Minister Meet Hayer also visited the National Sports University, Imphal where he saw new advanced technologies in the field of Sports Science. He also visited the Sports Psychology Lab. He said that to fulfill the dream taken by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to make Punjab the number one state in the country in sports, the Government is making continuous efforts and is learning from wherever there is something new to be imbibed. REVENUE HELPLINE NUMBER MENTIONED INADVERTENTLY, CLARIFIES PUNJAB GOVERNMENT

    In order to facilitate the residents of the state to track their revenue record a helpline number 8184900002 was launched by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, a few days back, which was inadvertently mentioned as 8194900002.          Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Punjab government said that the inconvenience caused in this regard is regretted adding that people can take benefit of the Revenue helpline by dialing 8184900002.
