Female jail warder arrested red handed taking bribe of Rs 10,000

A team of Anti Corruption Bureau, Haryana has arrested a female jail warder posted in Neemka Jail, Faridabad red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000. The accused jail warder had demanded a bribe in lieu of providing facilities to a female captive.

            While giving this information here today, a spokesperson of the Anti Corruption Bureau said that Jitendra Dhankhar, a resident of Sector-2 Ballabhgarh, Faridabad, in his complaint to the bureau, alleged that accused female jail warder Sudesh was demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant in lieu of providing facilities to his relative Neha who was lodged in the jail.

                  Jitendra Dhankhar gave this information to the Anti Corruption Bureau. After verifying the facts, a bureau team led by DSP Meena Kumari constituted that reached Neemka Jail. Complainant Jitendra contacted the accused jail warder over the phone. As soon as the accused took the bribe amount, the bureau team arrested her red handed accepting Rs10,000.

                       The Anti-Corruption Bureau team has started investigation by registering a case against the accused female jail warder under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

100 examined in health checkup camp

As many as 100 people were examined during Max Hospital Mohali free multi-speciality health checkup camp at Anaya Hospital & Diagnostics Centre, Kaithal today.

During camp a team of Max Hospital doctors examined the patients for their cccardiac, orthopaedics and gynaecology related health problems. The free tests of blood pressure, random blood sugar and ECG were also offered during the occasion. 

During camp the doctors also shared tips to stay healthy and fit.

Ashmah International School organised Adventure Fest

Ashmah International School, Sector 70 organised Adventure Fest at its campus .The students engaged in a multitude of activities ranging from Zipline, Hopscotch, Tarzan swing, Commando Net, Rappelling, Burma bridge, Tug of war to Double rope walking etc. The main reason behind organizing this competition was to nurture the intrinsic qualities of students and remove the fear of stage among students, which helps in personality development. The competition also included Dance, Song, Mad Ads and Storytelling performances. The students sang songs and enthralled the audience with their scintillating performances. Many students displayed their talents by dancing on entertaining music and left the audience spellbound. The Judges had a brainstorming session over the neck to neck performances to come to their judgement.

School Principal Suchi Grovar  said at the moment that ad sports for students are highly motivational and practical which are unlikely to be seen from the normal classroom environment. Adventure aims at increasing productivity, encourages students to work in different working environment, it builds team spirit, friendship and trust amongst each other.  According to her, students also learn the skills and values like friendship and companionship, cooperation and teamwork skills, leadership skills, respect for team mates, social interaction skills, physical skills, self-esteem, self-discipline, patience and persistence etc by participating in such activities.

Lawrance school students win 5 medals in National KickBoxing Championship

Daksh Sharma from Lawrance Public Senior Secondary School, Mohali has won a gold medal in 62 kg category at National KickBoxing Championship which was organized by Kick Boxing Federation of India at New Delhi. Other school students who excelled in championship are;  Samreen Kaur and Parth Sharma both silver medalists in 48 kg , Sarim Khan bronze medalist in 46 kg and Aaryan bronze medalist in 54 kg category.

Meanwhile another student Ekam Kaur Brar from Class VII also brought laurels to school by winning bronze medal at Gymnastic Federation of India’s Sub Junior Artistic Gymnastics National Championship 2023 at Kolkata.

Spirit of hosting the G-20 in Gurugram should sustain throughout the year: Dushyant Chautala

The preparations for organizing G-20 Summit meeting of the anti-corruption working group from March 1 to 4, 2023 in Cyber City Gurugram are gaining momentum. In this series, Gurugram District Administration organized Run for G-20 and Raahgiri event on Sunday morning. Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala flagged off the Run for G-20 from Leisure Valley Ground and graced the occasion as the chief guest at Raahgiri event organized on Vyapar Kendra Marg. Deputy Commissioner Gurugram, Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav welcomed the Deputy Chief Minister on his arrival to Gurugram.

        While addressing the gathering at the Run for G-20 event, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, India assumed the presidency of G-20 comprising the world’s largest economies. The G-20 Anti-Corruption Working Group meeting will be held in Gurugram on March 1. Holding the Presidency of the G-20 is a matter of pride for all of us. The enthusiasm of hosting the event in Gurugram should be visible amoung citizens. Congratulating the participants of Run for G-20, he said that the enthusiasm to participate in this marathon should be sustained throughout the year so that the message of hosting Gurugram could reach the world. He flagged off the Run for G-20. Participants of all age groups participated in the Run for G-20 Marathon.

        After this, the Deputy Chief Minister graced the Raahgiri event as the chief guest, organised at Vyapar Kendra Marg. The event was organized by the district administration in collaboration with Rahgiri Foundation as part of the awareness programme regarding the G-20 conference. The Deputy Chief Minister tried his hands in badminton and tug of war events along with Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav in the Raahgiri event.

        Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that to make Gurugram happening and prosperous, the team of Rahgiri should continue to work with the same enthusiasm. He hoped that the residents would play a crucial role in making this event successful. The event should deliver the message of happiness, healthy lifestyle and prosperity to the entire world.

        After the Run for G-20, the participants arrived at the Raahgiri event organized on Vyapar Kendra Marg. The organizations like Red Cross, Kalagram and others have made commendable efforts to organise Aerobics, Zumba, Road Safety, Painting, Puppetry, Gymnastics, Tug of War and Badminton events.

Cleanliness campaign run by  Dulheri village Youth get a special mention in ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme

In the 98th episode of his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi on Sunday was all praises for the youth of Dulheri village of Haryana who is enthusicatlly running a cleanliness campaign.         Showering praises on these Youth, the Prime Minister said that the enthusiasm and dedication shown by these young lads have certainly changed the meaning of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.          Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal also watched the telecast of Prime Minister  Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat programme in Karnal. Localities were also present on this occasion.Encouraging the youth of this village, the Prime Minister said, “These youth have decided to make Bhiwani city a role model in terms of cleanliness. They formed an organization called Yuva Swachhata Evam Jan Seva Samiti. At 4 am, they reach Bhiwani and run cleanliness drives at different places in the city. Till now, these people have cleaned tons of garbage from different areas of the city, said the Prime Minister while lauding the efforts of these youth. In the Maan ki Baat programme, Sh. Narendra Modi said we are determined, we can make a huge contribution to the clean India campaign.          He also called upon the countrymen to take a pledge to replace plastic bags with cloth bags.Notably, three youths of the village Dulheri had taken the initiative to make the village clean three years ago.  Now more than 60 youths have joined this team of youths who have this cleanliness campaign. Because of these dedicated efforts of the youth, the village has become a role model for other villages.  The awareness regarding cleanliness has also increased among the people of the village. 

COMMITTEE CONSTITUTED FOR EVALUATION OF PROJECTS UNDER ANUSUCHIT JATI ABHYUDHAY YOJANA: DR. BALJIT KAUR

      The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is constantly striving for the welfare of Scheduled Castes. Efforts are being made by the Punjab government to give maximum benefits to the beneficiaries of the welfare schemes being run for the poor section of the state.          Divulging in this regard, Minister of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Dr. Baljit Kaur said that under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jati Abhyudhay Yojana, a State Level Project Evaluation-cum-Convergence Committee has been formed to evaluate and prioritize district and state level projects for the social and economic betterment of scheduled castes.          She said that under the Anusuchit Jati Abhyudhay Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, Grants-in-aid for District/State-level projects for the socio-economic betterment of Scheduled Castes and construction /repair works are carried out of Educational hostels for Scheduled Caste students(Boys and Girls).          Dr. Baljit Kaur said that Special Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary and Secretary of the Social Justice Empowerment and Minorities Chairperson of this Committee.          Dr. Baljit Kaur said that Administrative Secretary or representative of department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Horticulture, Soil and Water Conservation, Industries and Commerce, Co-operatives, Finance, Planning, Rural Development and Panchayats, Social Security Women and Child Development, Higher Education and Languages, School Education, Health and Family Welfare, Water Supply and Sanitation, Public Works, Irrigation and Water Resources, New and Renewable Sources of Energy, Information Technology, Employment Generation and Training, other concerned departments member of this committee.          She said that Chairman Punjab State Commission Scheduled Castes, representative from up to 5 PMAJY districts whose villages are being covered and National Informatics Center shall be the head or representative member.          Cabinet Minister said that the Director of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minority will be the Member-Secretary in the case of Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana and Construction/Repair of Educational Hostels for SC students (Boys and Girls). In addition, the Director (SCSP)-cum-Joint Secretary will be the Member-Secretary in the case of Grants-in-aid for District/State-level projects for the socio-economic betterment of Scheduled Castes.          The Cabinet Minister directed that it will be necessary for the State Level Project Appraisal-cum-Convergence Committee to meet once in six months.Apart from this, the Deputy Commissioner at the district level will be the Chairperson of the Project Appraisal-cum-Convergence Committee. 

SANDHWAN PARTICIPATED IN 19TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE CPA INDIA REGION ZONE-III HELD AT SIKKIM LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY

      Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan participated in the 19th Annual Conference of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), India Region Zone-III, hosted by the Sikkim Legislative Assembly at Gangtok, Sikkim.          The conference, which deliberated on important issues “Making Parliament and Assembly more accessible to the public/citizen”, “Drug abuse and the way forward” and “Cyber Bullying”, was inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker Mr. Om Birla.          S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan said, the two-day long conference was fruitful where various social issues and challenges regarding citizen’s welfare were addressed in-depth.          He said, the participating dignitaries have expressed their concerns about many social and ethical issues relating to the drug menace during the Inaugural and Plenary Session.          Chief Guest Mr. Om Birla expressed satisfaction that the representatives have put forth their valuable suggestions for efficient policy making and its implementation for educating the public to overcome drug-related problems, adding that all participating members of the conference must take the valuable suggestions discussed during the two-day long sessions and should further push to implement them in their respective states. He highlighted the importance of public participation to encourage meaningful input into the decision-making process.          Speaker S. Sandhwan said, all the members believed that drug abuse has become one of the crucial social problems globally and that education and awareness is essential in developing resilience against drug menace.          He expressed hope that the CPA Zone-III conference would serve as a platform for the policy and law makers to assess a clear roadmap for strengthening good governance and democracy in the country. The conference also highlighted on the need to raise issues, discuss and debate for solutions regularly. 

Haryana government will create young entrepreneurs on the lines of Shark Tank show : Deputy CM

The state government has taken a big initiative to support young entrepreneurs to boost startups in Haryana. The state government will create young entrepreneurs on the lines of Shark Tank show. For this, the state government has made a provision in the budget-2023-24 under the new vision. Under the scheme, the government will provide assistance to the youth to convert new business ideas into reality.

In this regard, the Deputy CM said that today promising youth of the state have visionary ideas for startups which require funding at every level. He said that the banking sector hesitates to provide funds and loans for the new ventures. Dushyant Chautala said that in view of this, the Haryana Government has made a provision of Rs. 200 crores for Venture Capital Fund through the budget.

        Sh. Chautala said that out of the Rs. 200 crores Venture Capital Fund, any woman, SC applicant or any youth who does not have any source of income but has a startup idea, will be able to take advantage of this scheme. SH. Dushyant Chautala said that under the scheme, the state government will cooperate as capital in its investment up to Rs.5 crores. He said that with this the youth will be able to materialize his business idea into reality.

Deputy CM also informed that skilled and employable youth will be made available to private companies. He said that the government has focused on the skill development of the youth of the state and for this the government has established Shri Vishwakarma Skill University in Palwal. Along with this, now ITI institutes of the state will be upgraded by introducing new courses with special focus on education in harmony with the aviation sector. He added that the aviation sector holds great potential in coming times for the youth.

He said that with the commencement of courses related to aviation in ITI institutes, the aviation industry will be able to get skilled youth on time.

Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that under the new vision, the Haryana government wants to promote drones and aviation. He said that for this, a provision has been made in the budget to buy 10 single-engine trainer aircraft and one multi-engine aircraft for pilot training. He said that the government will also bear the cost of foreign language certification test for the youth of the family whose annual income is up to Rs. 6 lakhs. At the same time, 500 youth will be given drone training, which will promote the use of drones in the agriculture sector.

Sh. Chautala said that with the help of drones, insecticides can be sprayed in the fields. With this new technology, farmers will get more profit in a short time.

MoUs obsolete, we are signing MoDS with industrialists to give fillip to industry: says CM

IEP SAS Nagar (Mohali), February 25

          Terming that Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is obsolete in state now, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday said that the state government is currently signing MoDS (Memorandum of Dil Se) with the industrialists to give fillip to industrial development in state.

          Addressing the gathering during the valedictory function on the second day of Progressive Punjab Summit,  the Chief Minister said that MoDS is a sacred agreement directly from heart and is totally based on mutual trust and zeal to make Punjab a front runner state in industrial sector. He said that earlier practice of forceful MoUs by arm twisting of industrialists has now withered away. Bhagwant Mann said that today the focus is to ensure massive industrialisation in the state.

          The Chief Minister said that those who have participated in this summit have came on their own just to be partner in socio-economic growth of the state. He said that as per their target audience the companies are exploring the possibilities of their expansion in the state. Bhagwant Mann said that this will propel progress and prosperity in the state thereby creating new job opportunities for the youth.

          The Chief Minister also announced that every year the state government will organise sectoral summits in every quarter of fiscal year for giving further boost to the industry. He said that this is the need of hour to put the state on path of high growth trajectory. Bhagwant Mann said that this will also help in giving much needed push to the sectoral development of industry in the state.

          The Chief Minister reiterated the commitment of his government to make Punjab a vibrant, progressive and prosperous state. He said that with the active support and cooperation of the industry this task will be accomplished soon. Bhagwant Mann said that from day one  his motive is to create more and more jobs for the youth to wean them away from drug menace by channelising their energy in a positive direction.

          The Chief Minister expressed hope that the industrialists had a great experience during their stay in the state. He asked them to be messengers of the state for conveying the salient features of state like ease of doing business and most conducive business environment to their colleagues in other states. Bhagwant Mann said that the motive is to ensure maximum investment in the state to make it the industrial hub of the country.

          The Chief Minister also congratulated the Invest Punjab for successfully organising the event. He also congratulated the Deputy Commissioners who had worked hard at the ground to make this event a huge success. Bhagwant Mann also expressed gratitude to the captains of industry for coming in a huge number to invest in the state.

          Showcasing the achievements of the state, the Chief Minister said that it has the most conducive environment for the industrial growth. He said that it is the hub of manufacturing sector and leads the country in sectors like pharma, IT and others. Bhagwant Mann said that along with ensuring ease of doing the focus of state government is also on give of speed of doing business for which adequate steps are being taken.

          The Chief Minister reiterated the commitment of his government to emerge the state as a hub of ‘Healthcare’ across the globe. He said that in a major push to Medical education in Punjab, the state government has decided to construct 16 new Medical colleges in the coming five years that will enhance the total tally of medical colleges in the state to 25 thereby ensuring that every district of the state touches a medical college. Bhagwant Mann said that on the one hand it will provide quality medical education to the students and on other hand it will help in imparting world class healthcare facilities to people.
