Chief Secretary instructs to prepare a comprehensive plan to explore ways and means of using paddy straw as animal fodder

The Punjab Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua has instructed to prepare a comprehensive plan to find ways and means to use the straw as animal fodder to dispose of the paddy straw in a proper manner and to make the farmers aware of it.Today, the Chief Secretary at the Punjab Civil Secretariat in a meeting with the officials of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, Cooperation, Agriculture, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary University for Animal Sciences, Ludhiana and Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana, said that State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Maan is making in situ and ex situ arrangements for paddy straw management. In the same direction, straw is being used as a substitute for animal fodder.The Chief Secretary asked the expert representatives of the three departments and the two universities to form a committee to work in this regard by establishing contact with the progressive dairy farmers at different places in the state. He said that feedback should be taken from the livestock keepers who are already using it.Principal Secretary Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Vikas Pratap briefed the Chief Secretary that by using this method, the management of stubble will be done in a smooth manner and the livestock farmers will also benefit financially. PATIALA LAGGED BEHIND IN PROCESS OF DEVELOPMENT DUE TO VESTED INTERESTS AND GREED OF THE SUCCESSIVE RULERS: SAYS CM

Asserting that despite of being power centre Patiala lagged behind in process of development due to vested interests and greed of the successive rulers, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday said that those in power decorated their own palaces at the cost of dilapidation of the city. The Chief Minister, while interacting with the media after reviewing the progress of development projects worth Rs 167 crore in the city, said that it is ironic that the ‘Maharajas’ in power were more concerned about their own development rather than that of the city. He said that though Patiala was known as ‘City of gardens’ but due to apathy of those in power the city lost its shine in the last few years. Bhagwant Mann bemoaned that the rulers of Punjab, who hailed from Patiala remained callous about the development of the city. The Chief Minister said that work on the majority of these projects including construction of new bus stand, roads, drain channelization and beautification project, construction of digital library at Musafir Memorial Central state library and others have been hanging in fire since long. However, he said that his government, which is committed to the development and progress of Patiala, has put these projects on fast track mode. Bhagwant Mann said that the work on the state of the art bus stand which is being constructed to cope up with the futuristic needs will be completed by April 1st. The Chief Minister said that 93% work on this bus stand, which will have facility of lift, ramp and stairs, has already been completed. Bhagwant Mann said that once operational 1500 buses will ply from this bus stand and will facilitate the residents a lot. He said that the existing bus stand will be used as a city bus stand adding that shuttle bus service to various parts of the city will be introduced.    The Chief Minister said that Rs 20 crore are being spent for extending 24X7 canal water supply to the city residents adding that work for channelizing and beautification of model town drain will be completed by March 31st. He said that the Rajindra Tank will be developed into a tourism spot for attracting the people from across the globe. Likewise, Bhagwant Mann said that Rs 8.26 crore is being spent on digitalisation of the Musafir Memorial Central State library. The Chief Minister also announced that the work on all these projects will be completed in a time bound and result oriented manner. He said that any sort of delay in the completion of these projects is totally unwarranted and undesirable. Bhagwant Mann said that responsibility of the officers will be fixed if the work is not completed within the stipulated time.

Haryana Police seizes over 85,000 prohibited medicine, one held

Under its ongoing campaign against drugs, Haryana Police has seized a huge consignment of banned medicines including more than 10,000 capsules, 75,000 tablets, 300 bottles of syrups and 100 injections and arrested a person while he was carrying the contraband in a car in Yamunanagar district.

                    Sharing the information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that seized prohibited medicines were being supplied in the state from Uttar Pradesh.

                    A police team had received secret information that a suspected peddler will come from Uttar Pradesh to Haryana via Kalanaur with a huge consignment of drugs in his car. Immediately after getting the input, a team was formed that went to the Kalanaur border and started checking the vehicles at naka. Meanwhile, when a car was stopped and checked, a huge amount of medicines, fallen under the category of prohibited drugs was recovered from the vehicle. These include 20 boxes (2880) of Spasmo Proxyvon capsules, 10 boxes (60000) of Lomotil tablets, 25 boxes (6000) of Pyeevon Spas Plus capsules, 25 boxes (15000) Alprazolam tablets, 2 boxes (300 bottles) Chlorpheniramine syrup, 5 boxes (1200) Hydrochloride capsules and 2 boxes of Tramadol.

                    The arrested accused was identified as Amit Kumar, a resident of Barara in Ambala district.

                    The accused has been booked under relevant sections and further investigation is underway.

Home Minister Anil Vij himself re-created the crime scene in connection with the shooting of a female prisoner in Ambala’s Central Jail

Haryana Home Minister Sh. Anil Vij himself recreated the crime scene in the case of a female prisoner being shot in the leg after reaching Ambala Central Jail. Sh. Vij also instructed the investigation team to re-create the crime scene and investigate in the jail as well. At the same time, during an interaction with the media persons, he said that “this case is challenging, but our police are working to solve it”. Today Home Minister Anil Vij reached Ambala Central Jail where a female prisoner was shot in the leg. In this case, Home Minister Anil Vij inspected the crime scene along with Jail Superintendent Sanjeev Patra and Ambala SP Jashandeep Singh Randhawa, ballistic experts and other teams. Sh. Vij himself recreated the crime scene and learned from which direction the bullet came and how it hit the female prisoner’s leg. The minister also inquired with the expert from which direction the bullet hit the female prisoner. He directed the police to investigate the matter thoroughly. Apart from this, he directed all the teams to re-create the crime scene and conduct a thorough investigation in the jail as well. To know how the woman was shot in the jail At the same time, interacting with the media persons after the investigation in the jail, Home Minister Anil Vij said that the woman was shot inside the jail and it is being investigated from where the bullet came. For this, the ballistic expert team came on the spot and by re-creating the crime scene, to know from which direction the bullet came. After the woman recovers, she will also be brought to the spot to see from which direction the bullet came. He was also instructed to search the entire jail because it is a very serious matter that it is not known how the bullet hit and where it came from. He said that the Superintendent of Police of Ambala is also investigating in this matter; a team has also been formed to investigate it. This is a challenging case and our police are investigating this case and solving this case. Vij said that he was gone in the jail, everything has been seen and from which direction the bullet came, it has been fully investigated, every aspect has been inquired. Police are taking it seriously, he added. Politics should not be brought into the issue of sportspersons On the protest of the Olympians and the demand for the resignation of the Wrestling Association President, Home Minister Anil Vij clearly said that this is the issue of the players; it should not be made an arena of politics. Politicians also should not politicize it; even sportspersons do not want to politicize it. The Home Minister said that some politicians had gone to the players’ stage, where the players pulled them down and said that this is the players’ arena, don’t make it politics, so these politicians should keep their mouth shut and trust the government. He said that the government is very serious about this matter but the matter will be investigated before reaching any conclusion. Home Minister Anil Vij said that the allegations made by the players are a serious matter, as far as I know my party does not spare any guilty person, but it needs to be investigated. The minister said that an inquiry committee has been formed and the strictest action will be taken against the guilty. The government is not a mute spectator in this matter but is very serious, he asserted. Congress has run entertainment campaign, Bharat Jodo Yatra will not make any difference Reacting to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s invitation to all opposition parties at the conclusion of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Home Minister Anil Vij said that the BJP will not be affected by this Yatra, not only the BJP. Even this is not going to have any effect. The Home Minister said that this is just a drama by the Congress. The Congress government has run an entertainment campaign. He said that no one is going to be affected by the Bharat Jodo Yatra. This is their own drama, just like circus people come and go after doing circus, in the same way they are running an entertainment campaign with Rahul Gandhi. It won’t matter to anyone, he added. Everyone has their own point of view, someone likes Pappu and someone else Former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan said that Rahul Gandhi is not Pappu but a smart and curious person to which Home Minister Anil Vij reacted and saying that it is everyone’s own point of view. 

State Government fully committed to ensure clean and transparent governance to people: Lal Chand Kataruchak

The Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stands totally committed to ensuring a clean and transparent governance to the people of the State. That makes it important for the officers of the department to pay field visits in order to keep track of the functioning at the ground level with a view to make further refinements to ensure smooth functioning. These views were expressed by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Mr. Lal Chand Kataruchak while presiding over a review meeting of the department at the Anaj Bhawan in Sector 39 today. 

The Minister exhorted the District Food Supply Controllers (DFSCs) to also plant saplings in their offices so as to increase area under greenery besides according a beautified look to the office premises. 

Advocating the acceleration of the work pertaining to verification of Atta Dal cards, the Minister said no eligible beneficiary should be left out. Inspiring the officers to adopt a fully devoted approach with regard to their work, Mr. Kataruchak made it clear that negligence in the discharge of duties would not be tolerated at any cost.

The Minister was apprised that in order to ensure uninterrupted and hassle free functioning the DFSC Ludhiana (East) and West wings have been ordered to be separated. Apart from this, the DFSCs have also been directed to visit FRK (Fortified Rice Kernel) plants once a month. The Minister was further informed about the steps being initiated by the Department towards maintaining the stock of wheat and ensuring its quality.

The Principal Secretary of the department, Rahul Bhandari assured the Minister that a completely transparent mechanism is being adopted for carrying the flagship schemes of the department to the people besides ensuring smooth functioning of the department. 

Among others present on the occasion included the Director Ghanshyam Thori, AMD Pungrain Parampal Kaur Sidhu, Joint Directors Dr. Anjuman Bhaskar & Ajayveer Singh Sarao and the DFSCs from across the districts.

Haryana Government announced New Year Bonanza to BPL families

Haryana Government announced New Year Bonanza to the BPL families. Now eligible beneficiaries will receive Rs. 300/- through DBT for the mustard oil. Earlier the amount received by such families was Rs. 250/-. The Haryana government has increased the amount received in their ration for mustard oil by Rs. 50/-.  This will benefit 31.47 lakh families of the state.

        The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, said that the state government cares for the poor and regularly takes the necessary action for their upliftment.

        Sh. Dushyant Chautala approved the decision regarding increasing the amount of mustard oil given in the ration of AAY/BPL families in the meeting with the senior officers of the department. He has given directions to implement it from February 2023 itself. Earlier, where ration card holders used to get Rs. 250/- for mustard oil, now they will be given Rs. 300/-.

        The Deputy Chief Minister said that from June 2021, the state government had decided to transfer Rs. 250 per family per month through DBT to the bank accounts of the concerned families in place of mustard oil to the AAY/BPL families. The amount is being sent to the concerned families through DBT.

        He informed that about 31.47 lakh families have been included in the new AAY/BPL list issued by the state government. The families will start receiving the enhanced benefit from February 2023 itself.

        The Deputy Chief Minister also said that the beneficiaries who are facing any problem in availing the benefits of DBT can lodge their complaint or problem on the portal https://grievance.edisha.gov.in or register their issue on helpline number 0172-3968400 issued by the state government.

Government serious about demands of players: Haryana Chief Minister

Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the Union Government has taken all the concerns of the players seriously and the Union Sports Ministry has asked the Wrestling Federation of India to respond in this regard within 72 hours; on whose report the central government will definitely take appropriate action.

He said that the central and state government through its welfare schemes are doing several works to boost the morale of the sportspersons. In relation to the latest case, if any matter is referred to the state government by the Centre, then cognizance will be taken of it. He said that no such complaint had come earlier and all the information was received only after the demonstration of the players yesterday.

The newly appointed Publicity Advisor in the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Sh. Tarun Bhandari paid a courtesy visit to Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal at his residence Sant Kabir Kutir and thanked him for the new responsibility. On the occasion, Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh. Gian Chand Gupta was also present.After this, Sh. Tarun Bhandari officially assumed his office and also paid a courtesy call on Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal.Sh. Tarun Bhandari said that he will seriously discharge the responsibility assigned by the Chief Minister. Special emphasis on 10 districts of Haryana

interacting with media persons, the Chief Minister said that the problem of water logging is commonly seen in 10 districts namely Rohtak, Jhajjar, Bhiwani, Hisar, Jind, Fatehabad, Sonipat, Kaithal, Palwal and Sirsa. Therefore, giving special focus to these 10 districts, most of the schemes approved in today’s meeting are for these districts only.

He said that it has been decided to hold a meeting of the Haryana State Drought Relief and Flood Control Board twice a year in the months of January and May. The short-term projects and long-term projects decided in the January meeting will be reviewed in the month of May. For water conservation and water reuse, the budget has been increased from Rs 35 crore, allocated previously to Rs 167 crore, shared Sh. Manohar Lal.

He said that instead of draining out the water from the population and agricultural sector, emphasis is being laid on recharging of this water. More than 50 acres of the area have a waterlogging problem, the government is ready to take this area and work will be done to construct a pond or recharge well on this land.

Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D S Dhesi, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Amit Agrawal and various Administrative Secretaries also remained present in the meeting. The Deputy Commissioners of all the districts also joined the meeting virtually.
