Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, visited PGIMER Satellite Centre, Sangrur

Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, visited PGIMER Satellite Centre, Sangrur and reviewed its progress today.  

Expressing satisfaction at the pace of the execution of the Project, the Hon’ble Minister stated, “With the pace at which the work is being executed, including procurement of medical devices and equipment, the Satellite Centre will be fully functional by January, 2023 and will provide a huge relief not only for the local population but for those far and wide.”   Updating about the success of the ‘free precaution vaccination drive’ launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister on 15th July for 75 days to mark Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Hon’ble Union Health Minister shared, “Already over 13 crore people have leveraged this facility by getting vaccinated under this initiative in one month and three days till date.”

The Minister urged the people of Punjab and country in general, especially the vulnerable population, to get vaccinated in the balance of 75 days and equip themselves to face the COVID crisis.” Lauding healthcare workers for their commendable role in containing the COVID crisis, the Hon’ble Minister stated, “Our country has been appreciated across the globe for two things; for COVID management by adhering to the guidelines and vaccination drive by crossing the mark of over 200 crore doses.”  

Endorsing the need for ‘affordable health for all’, the Hon’ble Minister shared about the initiatives by the Govt. to promote generic medicines which include over 8500 Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country which are visited over 20 lakh people daily in the country, awareness campaign by engaging with National Medical Council and launch of an app ‘Jan Aushadhi Sugam’ to make people aware about the salt in the medicine to enable them make considered choice between generic and branded medicine. The Hon’ble Minister also shared that ‘a Jan Aushadhi Kendra will also be opened in the Satellite Centre , Sangrur.’   Earlier, the Minister was accorded a warm welcome by Director PGIMER Prof. Vivek Lal, Deputy Director(Admin), Kumar Gaurav Dhawan, IRS, Sh.Jitendra Jorwal, IAS, DC Sangrur, Medicsl Superintendent, Prof. Vipin Koushal amongst others. The Hon’ble Minister chaired a meeting which was attended by Prof. Vivek Lal, Director PGIMER, senior faculty members and senior administrative officers including Sh. Dhawan (IRS), DDA, Prof. Vipin Koushal, MS, Sh.Kumar Abhay, FA, Prof. Ashok Kumar, Addl.

Medical Superintendent, PGIMER & Nodal Officer, Satellite Centre, Sangrur.A detailed presentation was made before the Hon’ble Minister wherein the dignitary was apprised that the Satellite Centre, comprising a 300 bed hospital, was envisaged with an intent to reduce the overcrowding in PGIMER, Chandigarh and reduce travel time of patients.Prof. Vivek Lal informed “Spread over a land of 25 acres, the project cost of this Satellite Centre is Rs. 449.00 crores. The phase 1 has already been executed with the construction of Temporary OPD, Guest House and Boundary Wall and Phase 2 of the execution is being  fast tracked.

The Satellite Centre is expected to be fully functional early next year.”Detailing the Minister about the patient care at Satellite Centre, Prof. Vivek Lal further shared that with a temporary OPD being functional since October 2016in the Satellite Centre, 2,78,416 patients have already been examined in these OPD facilities till date.” Later the Hon’ble Minister visited the Temporary OPD  where he interacted with doctors, paramedics and patients and enquired about the facilities being provided to patients there.

Promises made to people of the country since the time of Jan Sangh been fulfilled, says Rajnath Singh

Union Defence Minister, Sh. Rajnath Singh said that the promises made to the people of the country since the time of Jan Sangh have been fulfilled, including removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, construction of Ram Mandir and equal Citizenship.

The Defence Minister was addressing the people after dedicating Panch Kamal, the state office of Haryana Janta Party near Mansa Devi today.

He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is not using politics to get power. Its focus is to uplift the society and the country. In the last eight years, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has uplifted the condition of the country which has constructively changed the direction of the politics.  Today no one can allege that any scam has taken place in the country.

Appreciating the Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, Sh. Rajnath Singh said that the farmers are being paid by the state government within 72 hours after procurement of the crops.  Apart from this, Haryana is only state in the country to procure maximum 14 crops at the Minimum Support Price.  He said that the number of Government jobs given in the last eight years were not given in the last 15 years in Haryana.  Some people are trying to mislead the people by politicising the small issues.

Interacting with the workers, Sh. Rajnath Singh said that people should be proud to work as workers of Bharatiya Janata Party. He said that when he was preparing the party’s election manifesto in 2014 and 2019, Sh. Narendra Modi had asked not make any such promise in the manifesto, which cannot be fulfilled and we kept the public promises.

Sh. Rajnath Singh said that as Defence Minister, he is moving towards making India self-reliant.  A list of 310 items of Army goods has been prepared, which will be manufactured in India and need not to be imported from other countries of the world and he has done this after getting inspiration from Prime Minister’s make in India campaign.  Today foreign investors are looking forward to invest in India in the field of defence manufacturing.  He said that India had been importing goods worth Rs 900 crore for the army from other countries, but now India is exporting goods worth Rs 13,000 crore to other countries.

 Sh. Rajnath said that India’s economy is the fastest growing economy in the world. He said that young startups have also shown great interest towards the start-up scheme launched in the field of IT for the youth. There are 105 startups who started their business with an investment of one to two crore rupees, whose annual turnover has reached up to Rs. 7,000 crores.  He said that more than 400 Fortune companies of the world have set up their units in India. He also congratulated the Chief Minister of Haryana, Sh. Manohar Lal for making Haryana the number one state across the country in the field of export of software.

He also appreciated the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal and his team for giving an impeccable leadership to Haryana for the last eight years and appreciated Sh. Om Prakash Dhankhar for doing excellent work.

Haryana CM announces grant of Rs. 81.5 crore to Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha

Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has announced an amount of Rs. 81.5 crore for providing better medical facilities to the citizens at Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha. In this project, Rs. 25 crore will be spent for construction of various facilities in medical college, Rs. 17 crore for hostel construction, Rs. 23 crore for purchase of various equipment and Rs. 16.5 crore for other resources.

         The Chief Minister said this while addressing at the second Convocation held at the OP Jindal Auditorium at Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha on Saturday as the Chief Guest. Earlier, he also inaugurated the newly constructed Block-D of the hospital in the Medical College campus.

            In his address, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the state government is committed to provide better health facilities to the citizens of the state. In order to provide the benefit of Ayushman Bharat scheme to more and more poor families by the government, the annual income slab of BPL families has been increased to Rs. 1.80 lakh. After this the number of BPL families will increase from 10 lakhs to about 22 lakhs. All these families will be provided free medical facilities up to Rs. 5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

The strength of doctors will be increased from 13,000 to 28,000

         The Chief Minister said that to ensure the availability of adequate doctors in the state, the process of opening medical colleges in every district of Haryana is going at a fast pace. At present there are 13 medical colleges in the state and 8 medical colleges are under process. At present there are about 13,000 doctors in the state, the target of the government is to increase their number to 28,000. For this, 2,650 doctors will be prepared to be engaged in the services every year.

Doctors to realize the spirit of service to mankind

        The Chief Minister called upon the new doctors to realize the spirit of service to mankind and appealed them to make the medical sector a service mission rather than a business. He said that along with better treatment of diseases, the emphasis should be made that people realize the value of healthy life and start adopting healthy practices. For this a better harmony of allopathy and Ayurveda can be made. We have to go towards taking food as medicine.

         Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal while praising the management of the medical college said that the college provided excellent medical services not only to the nearby districts but also to the ailing persons of Punjab and Rajasthan during the COVID-19 pandemic. He added that the Agroha Medical College has also been given a Good Governance Award by the government for this special initiative.

29 medals and 255 degrees were awarded at the convocation

         During the Convocation, 29 medals and 255 Degrees were awarded by the Chief Ministers to the pass out students. Dr. Sapna Kundu was awarded the OP Jindal Gold Medal. Similarly, Dr. Bhavna Arora was awarded Ghanshyam Das Goyal Silver Medal and Dr. Aastha Dhamija with Banarasi Das Gupta Bronze Medal. An amount of Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 50 thousand and Rs. 25 thousand was given to the doctors who received gold medal, silver medal and bronze medal respectively.

         On this occasion, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Sh. Kamal Gupta, Minister of State Labour and Employment, Sh. Anoop Dhanak, Member of Rajya Sabha, Sh. D P Vats, Former Minister, Smt. Savitri Jindal and other dignitaries were present.

Chandigarh International Airport will be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh: Chautala

There has been a mutual agreement between the Government of Haryana and Government of Punjab to name the Chandigarh International Airport after the name of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala met Punjab Chief Minister, Sh. Bhagwant Mann in Chandigarh on Saturday and agreed to name it ‘Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport’. After the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that Shaheed Bhagat Singh is one such martyr of the country’s freedom struggle, who has inspired the youth of every generation. He said that the name of the Chandigarh International Airport will now be named after the great martyr Bhagat Singh and both the Punjab and Haryana Government have made mutual consensus on it.

Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that the collective contribution of Haryana Government, Punjab Government and Chandigarh Administration is involved in the construction and modernization of Chandigarh Airport and after expansion this airport is boosting the development and industrialization of this area. He said that since Haryana also had an equal share in its construction, the name of the city ‘Panchkula’ should also be added to its name. The Deputy Chief Minister said that he has sent a recommendation on behalf of Haryana Government to the Punjab Government. He added the same request will also be sent to the Central Government in this regard.

Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that in future, Chandigarh Airport will be a major airport of North India and it will witness progress along with fulfilling the needs of the, hence all the differences related to its naming should end soon.

HSLSA Executive Chairman inaugurated ADR Center in Rewari

Justice Augustine George Masih, Judge, Punjab  and  Haryana High Court and the Executive Chairman, Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HSLSA) today inaugurated the new building of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Centre of the Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HSLSA) at Rewari District Headquarters. ADR Centre to provide cheap, simple, quick and accessible justice.

During the inauguration, Sh. Justice Augustine George and Sh. Justice Manoj Bajaj also launched the special campaign ‘Aging with Dignity’ of HSLSA and released the poster on the Rights of Senior Citizens.

Mr. Subhas Mehla, Member Secretary, Haryana Legal Services Authority Secretary and District and Sessions Judge and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Varsha Jain gave information about these programmes.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Sh. Justice Augustine George Masih said that with the opening of this ADR Centre people can get cheap, simple, quick and accessible justice to settle their cases. This is the building of the Fourteenth ADR Centre at the district level in Haryana. Haryana is the leading state in the country in terms of  setting up a separate ADR Centre, added Sh. Justice Augustine George Masih.

Appealing for cooperation from the advocates, Sh. Justice Augustine George Masih said that together we have to ensure cheap, simple, quick and accessible justice to the needy.

Appreciating the Aging with Dignity campaign launched by the HSLSA, he said that it is a commendable initiative to honour senior citizens. He said that many schemes are being run by the government for senior citizens and they should take complete advantage of these schemes.

It is the responsibility of all of us that we give full respect to senior citizens and ensure the complete reach of the various welfare schemes being run by the state government to these elderly, said Sh. Justice Augustine George Masih.

Sh. Justice Manoj Bajaj said that the services provided through the ADR Centre will provide accessible, cheap and speedy justice to the complainants, which will save both money and time.

He said that due to the promotion of legal services, now people’s inclination towards Lok Adalats and ADR Center is increasing continuously, through which lakhs of pending cases of the state are being settled every year.

Sh. Vimal Kumar, District and Sessions Judge, while expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, Sh. Justice Augustine George Masih and Administrative Judge Manoj Bajaj said that the ADR building has been gifted in Rewari, and 92.7 percent of cases have been settled through Lok Adalats in the district, and now disputes can be settled through ADR Centre as well.

The office bearers of the District Bar Association also presented mementos to Sh. Justice Augustine George Masih and Sh. Justice Manoj Bajaj.

After the program, the message of environmental protection was also given by planting saplings on the premises of the  ADR Centre.

CM Dhami prays in Tapkeshwar after shrine flooded by raging river

The heavy rainfall experienced in Dehradun from Friday night onward caused flooding in various parts of the city and its suburbs. The famous Tapkewhar Mahadev temple was also flooded during the wee hours due the level of water in the Tamasa river rising considerably due to consistent and heavy rainfall in the surrounding foothills.

After inspecting the suburban areas affected the heavy rainfall and resulting damage, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple area. He directed officials to focus on plans to mitigate damage from disasters in the future. The CM also offered prayers in the shrine and wished for the welfare of all citizens.

Earlier, Dhami visited the affected areas of Thano, Kumalda and nearby areas. He directed the Garhwal commissioner and Tehri district magistrate to shift residents of affected areas to safer locations. The CM directed officials to facilitate alternative routes to citizens in places where the main roads are blocked. Officials were told to restore electricity and water supply in the areas where these were disrupted.

Inspecting the collapsed bridge in Thano, he directed officials to arrange for an alternative route soon. The CM also talked to the MLAs concerned to keep a tab on the situation in their respective areas.

U’khand to be made cataract-free, says Minister Dhan Singh Rawat

Uttarakhand Health Minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that a campaign in phased manner would be undertaken to make Uttarakhand free from cataract. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a call for ‘Cataract free India’ campaign so that the country is made free from cataract in the next three years. The minister said that the free operation of cataract patients is being done in the State and free eyeglasses are being provided to such patients.

Elaborating further he said that in the year 2017-18, free cataract surgery was performed on 37,901 patients while 34,538 surgeries were done in the year 2018-19. In the year 2019-20 a total of 33,292 cataract surgeries were performed while 23,160 and 34,627 surgeries were formed in the year 2020-21 and 2021-22 respectively.  The minister added that the State government is committed to making the State free from cataract.

He said that 37th national eye donation fortnight would be organised in the State from August 25 to September 8. The fortnight is being organised under the aegis of the National programme for control of blindness and visual impairment. The Minister has given necessary instruction to the officers of the health department for successful organisation of the campaign. In the fortnight the people would be encouraged to take a pledge to donate eyes after their death.

Rawat said that camps to test the eyes of the people would be organised at the block levels in all the 13 districts of the state during the campaign.  Apart from checking the eyes the ANMs and Asha workers would distribute vitamin A tablets in these camps. Rawat said that many schemes are being operated in the State for the patients with visual impairment and other diseases.

AFRICAN SWINE FEVER DETECTED IN SWINE SAMPLES OF PATIALA; PUNJAB DECLARED ‘CONTROLLED AREA’

Punjab Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, on Friday, informed that after ICAR-National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases, Bhopal has confirmed African swine fever in swine samples of district Patiala, the whole state of Punjab is declared as “Controlled Area” with the object of preventing, controlling, eradicating scheduled disease-African Swine Fever (ASF), exercising the powers u/s 6 of Chapter III of “The Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals Act, 2009.”

He said that a notification has been issued is this regard and it has come into force with immediate effect.

The Cabinet Minister said that a village Bilaspur and Sanauri Adda in District Patiala are hereby notified as “Epicenter” of the disease, adhering to the u/s 20 of Chapter III of the same Act.”

Mr. Bhullar further said that in compliance to Chapters 7 & 8 of “National Action Plan for Control, Containment and Eradication of African Swine Fever (June 2020)” of Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India; these areas are hereby declared “Infected Zone” (0-1 Km area around epicenter of disease) and “Surveillance Zone” (1-10 Km area around epicenter of disease). No live/dead Pig (including feral or wild pigs), unprocessed Pig Meat, Feed or any material/goods from the piggery farm/backyard piggery shall be taken out of or brought into the Infected Zone and no person shall bring or attempt to bring into market any pig or pig products which is known to be infected with the scheduled disease, said the Minister quoting notification, while adding that inter-state movement of any pig or its belongings should be strictly ban.

AMAN ARORA PAYS GLOWING TRIBUTES TO SHAHEED SANT HARCHAND SINGH LONGOWAL BY DONATING BLOOD ON HIS 37th DEATH ANNIVERSARY

Punjab Information and Public Relations, Housing and Urban Development and New and Renewable Energy Sources Minister Mr Aman Arora today donated blood to pay glowing tribute to Shaheed Sant Harchand Singh Longowal during a mega blood donation camp organized at Anaj Mandi, Longowal to mark his 37th death anniversary.

While addressing people on this occasion, the Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab government under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann, a mega blood donation camp has been organised which is a befitting tribute to the martyrdom of Sant Harchand Singh Longowal. He added that the blood donated by the donors will be used to save the precious lives of the needy who will be fighting for life in hospitals.

The Minister, while paying tribute to Sant Harchand Singh Longowal, said that the martyrdom of those who sacrificed their lives for the service of humanity should never be forgotten. He said that the purpose of this blood donation camp organised by district administration and the district Red Cross Society was also to serve the humanity as every single drop of donated blood will be helpful in saving precious lives.

On this occasion, Mr. Aman Arora said that CM Bhagwant Mann led Punjab government has started several initiatives for the all-round development of Sunam Udham Singh Wala assembly constituency and the results would be visible soon on the ground. Longowal town will also be revamped as the development works would be accelerated here too, he added.

During the blood donation camp held at Anaj Mandi Longowal, Mr. Aman Arora also distributed certificates to the blood donating volunteers and encouraged them for the noble cause.
