36th National Games, Haryana clinches gold in Yogasana

In the ongoing 36th National Games, on Sunday Haryana won its maiden gold in Yogasana after the duo of Rahul and Rishabh from Gurugram showed their talent in this traditional sport.  Besides this, another state lad Praveen Pathak also won a bronze medal in the Artistic Yogasana (Singles).

As rightly being called the sports capital of the country, the players of Haryana have continued their winning streak even in the ongoing 36th National Games. Till now, the State has already emerged as the champion in archery and netball games.

Haryana bagged gold, silver and bronze in Judo

The players of Haryana made a clean sweep in Judo as in the 73 kg weight category, the proud sons of the State Vishal, Jatin and Vikas Dalal bagged gold, silver and bronze respectively.

The girls’ team win the silver medal in golf

The State daughters proved their mettle as they bagged the silver medal in golf. In the team event, Haryana’s Vani Kapoor and Lavanya Jadoon added one more medal to the state’s medal tally by winning the silver medal. Meanwhile, Abhinav Lohan and Sunhit Bishnoi bagged the bronze medal in the boys’ individual event.

Girls Hockey team enters final

In the semi-final match of hockey held on Sunday, State daughters strengthened their claim on the gold by winning the finals. The semi-final match was played between Haryana and Jharkhand. In this thrilling match, Haryana beat Jharkhand by 5-2. The finals will be played on October 11.

Notably, so far, the Girls’ Hockey team has not lost any match. The team has registered consecutive victories in pool matches as well. It is expected that in the final match as well the team will continue its victory streak to bag gold for the State.

A total of 94 medals including 31 gold in the State’s tally

As of October 9, 6 pm, Haryana has won 94 medals including 31 gold, 29 silver and 34 bronze. So far the players of Haryana have won 1 silver and 1 bronze medal in aquatics, 5 gold medals in archery, 3 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals in athletics, 2 gold and 3 silver medals in cycling, 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medal in fencing, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze medals in Golf, 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 9 Bronze medals in Judo, 2 Bronze medals in Kabaddi, 2 Gold in Net Ball, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze in Rowing, 1 Gold in Rugby Medals, 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals in Shooting, 1 Bronze Medal in Soft Tennis, 1 Silver Medal in Table Tennis, 1 Bronze Medal in Tennis, 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals in Weightlifting, 12 Gold, 7 Silver and 4 Bronze medals in Wrestlingand, 1 Gold and 1 Bronze medal in Yogasana.

Haryana appoints Five 2020 batch IAS officers as Sub Divisional Officers (Civil)

Haryana Government appointed five IAS  officers of the 2020 batch, (awaiting orders of posting) as Sub Divisional Officers (Civil).

As per the orders Pradeep Singh has been posted as Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Gharaunda, Deepak Babulal Karwa has been posted as Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Ferozepur Jhirka, Pankaj has been posted as Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Jind and Harshit Kumar has been posted as Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Mahendragarh.

Besides this, C Jayasharadha another IAS officer of the 2020 batch has been posted as  Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Naraingarh and  CEO-Cum-Executive Director, Naraingarh Sugar Mills Ltd.

Meanwhile, the government has also issued transfer and posting orders of 7 HCS officers with immediate effect.

These include, Surender Singh-I has been posted as Additional Director (Admn.) and Special Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Department, Aditi has been posted as Secretary-cum-CEO, UTKARSH Society, Wakeel Ahmed has been posted as Estate Officer, HSVP, Panipat, Ranbir Singh has been posted as Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Tauru, Mayank Bhardwaj has been posted as Estate Officer, HSVP, Kurukshetra and Abhay Singh Jangra has been posted as City Magistrate, Karnal.

NEET, JEE 2022 toppers felicitated

Top achievers of NEET and JEE 2022 from Panchkula were felicitated during a roadshow by Aakash BYJU’S. Among other achievers, Yagyam Sethi from Panchkula, who secured AIR-59 in NEET 2022 and is also the Chandigarh topper was felicitated for their achievements .

From Panchkula branch, 107 students qualified for the NEET-2022, 38 students cleared JEE Main 2022 & 14 students qualified the JEE Advanced 2022. 

Haryana’s ambitious PPP programme has become a role model not only for the state but also for the country and abroad, Chief Minister

Haryana Chief Minister, Sh.  Manohar Lal said that Haryana is the first state not only in the country but also in the world to implement the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP).        “PPP has made  Haryana a role model not only for other states but also for the country and abroad. Through PPP, benefits of all the welfare schemes are being ensured by identifying the actual needy families and the actual beneficiaries,” added Sh. Manohar Lal.         The Chief Minister said this during a special meeting held with a delegation of the Maharashtra Government at Haryana Niwas in the late evening.        The delegation included Revenue, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister, Sh. Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, Ports and Mining Minister,  Sh. Dada Bhuse, Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development Department, Sh.  Rajesh Kumar, Principal Secretary, Relief and Rehabilitation, Information and Technology Department, Sh. Aseem Kumar Gupta,  Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister, Maharashtra, Dr. Shrikar Pardeshi, Officer on Special Duty to  Chief Minister, Maharashtra,  Dr. Anand Madia.         During the meeting, a presentation was shared on Parivar Pehchan Patra, about the Family Information Data Repository (FIDR), the implementation strategy, institutional Mechanisms for PPP implementation, the pro-active welfare services through PPP and benefits and outcomes realized of the Government’s first-of-its-kind umbrella PPP scheme.          “PPP had proved instrumental in identifying the ineligible beneficiaries who were taking undue advantage of various government schemes,” asserted the Sh. Manohar Lal.         The Chief Minister said that today, the central government is ensuring the benefits of welfare schemes to the general public through the Aadhaar card.         “Going a step further the present State Government while considering the family as one unit, the flagship scheme of Parivar Pehchan Patra was launched which not only created a unique ID for every family residing in the State but also ensured the reach of benefits of government schemes at the grassroots levels,” said Sh. Manohar Lal. The Chief Minister said that today in Haryana, the benefits of all the welfare government schemes are being given through PPP only. Automatic disbursal of pension benefits is being ensured through PPP The Chief Minister said that the through Social Justice and Empowerment Department, the State Government is giving different types of pensions. All these pensions have been linked with PPP.         This has saved the beneficiaries from making several rounds of the government offices to get their benefit. As soon as a person attains the pension age, the department takes their signatures on the prescribed form one month before their retirement. After this, as soon as the beneficiary attains the pension age completed, their pension automatically starts through PPP. 12,763 pensions have been made in the last months through PPP, said Sh. Manohar Lal. Yellow ration cards are also being made through PPP        The Chief Minister said that yellow ration cards are also being made through PPP. The government has made ration cards through PPP on a pilot basis in Sirsa and Kurukshetra districts. In future, this scheme will be implemented in the entire state. With this, the ration card of the eligible person will be made as per the income verified in PPP.Chief Minister apprised about Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam and CET        The Chief Minister apprised the delegation that how by constituting Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam, the State Government has decided to completely eradicate the age-old system of doing contractual recruitment through outsourcing.         He further shared that the State Government has also decided to hold Common Eligibility Test (CET)  for providing government jobs to the youth in a fair and transparent manner.  The candidates appearing for this test will have to do only one-time registration to appear for the said exam. Deligation also visited Yamunanagar        Earlier, the delegation also visited the Yamunanagar to study the public welfare schemes and policies of the Haryana Government.  This delegation studied many public welfare schemes of the government and got detailed information about the schemes by interacting directly with the beneficiaries of various schemes.        During the meeting Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. Haryana Agriculture Minister visits Rungis wholesale market in Paris, France

IEP Chandigarh, October 8, 2022

– In a bid to have a hands-on understanding of modern infrastructure systems, operational modalities and support mechanisms, Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. J.P Dalal visited Rungis Market International in Paris. 

Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department,  Dr Sumita Misra and other officers of the delegation, also accompanied the Minister. 

The delegation led by the Minister held a meeting with Sh. Stephen Liyani Chairman and CEO, Semmaris International, Sh. Ambroise, Director and, Incharge International Relations of Rungis International.  The company is partly owned by the Public and partly by the private sector and providing support in the development of wholesale markets in more than 40 countries.

During the meeting Sh. J.P Dalal expressed concern about farmers’ support system and successful operations of the market. 

“Haryana is swiftly moving to establish International Horticulture Market (IIHM) at Ganaur and has set a target to operationalise it by the end of 2024,” said Sh. J.P Dalal. 

Chairman Rungis suggested that based on experience the world over, IIHM Ganaur should focus on linking small markets of the catchment area, early bird Incentives to traders, restrictions on retail operations, strong regulations of operation and management, provide performance link incentives to employees, and develop Ganaur Green Transit Hub for distribution of different commodities. 

During the visit, the delegation also met with Sh. Javed Ashraf, Ambassador of India in France.

Meanwhile, Sh. Liyani is also Chairman of the World Union of Wholesale Markets( WUWM), he urged Sh. J.P Dalal to visit the Abu Dhabi Food Distribution Hub and participate in the WUWM conference in the last week of October. 

The  Minister invited the Chairman Rungis/ WUWM to Haryana and discuss further modalities of collaboration and cooperation in future for the success of IIHM, Ganaur.

Notably, Haryana State is also developing the India International Horticulture Market (IIHM) at Ganaur near the National capital Delhi in an area of 540 acres on the pattern of Rungis Market. During the discussion, it was brought out that IIHM will be based on the Rungis market with some need-based facilities keeping in view Indian conditions.

This market will cater for the requirement of the 55 million population living in NCR including Delhi for fresh fruit, vegetables, etc.

        Rungis Market International is spread over an area of more than 700 acres and was established in the year 1969. In this market trading of 16 lakh MT of fruits, and vegetables including that fish, meat and dairy products happens annually.

HOUSING & URBAN DEVELOPMENT DEPT DECENTRALIZES POWERS TO GRANT REGULATORY APPROVALS

The Punjab Government has simplified procedures to enable speedy clearances of Change Of Land Use (CLU) certificates, completion certificates, layout and building plans. This has been done by decentralising  regulatory approvals that empower Urban Development Authorities, to grant approvals.          Terming Ease of Doing Business as the topmost priority of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Mr. Aman Arora said that this decision will go a long way for quick disposal of cases within stipulated time frame as the H&UD department has delegated powers at the local level for granting regulatory approvals.          The move will empower urban development authorities in Mohali, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Patiala and Bathinda as regulatory approvals will be granted at their own level, Mr. Aman Arora said, adding that these authorities are headed by Chief Administrators (CAs).          Now, Chief Administrators can grant licenses to all categories of colonies, said Principal Secretary H&UD Mr. Ajoy Kumar Sinha while adding that a committee under CA of the concerned Authority will grant approval for Layout Plans for Residential/Industrial/Commercial Colony, Mega Projects and Industrial Parks (including extensions of existing projects). The committee has also been empowered to grant Building Plans approval for all standalone projects other than industries above 15 acres, all allotted/auctioned chunk sites above one acre including industry and chunk sites within approved private projects above one acre.          A committee under Additional Chief Administrator (ACA) of concerned Authority would have power to grant Building Plan approvals for all allotted/auctioned chunk sites up to one acre including industry and all other plots up to one acre in urban estates/approved projects of H&UD, he added.          Chief Town Planner PUDA would be empowered to grant approval for compounding of Education/Medical/ Religious/Social charitable institutes, Farm House above 15 acres and Commercial including hotel and eating joints.Mr. Sinha said that Senior Town Planner of the concerned Circle would have the power to grant approvals for Zoning Plans of Residential/ Industrial/ Commercial Colony, Mega Projects and Industrial Parks (including extensions of existing projects), besides granting approval for Building Plans of all standalone Industrial MSME District Level Projects, Building Plans of all standalone projects other than Industry, up to 15 acres, Compounding of Education/Medical/Religious/Social charitable institutes, Farm House up to 15 acres and Compounding of all Industrial Buildings up to 10 acres.He further informed that Senior Town Planner, PBIP would have power to grant approvals for all standalone Industrial State Level Projects and Compounding of all Industrial Buildings above 10 acres. District Town Planner has been empowered to grant approvals for Building Plans of Rice Sheller, Brick Kiln, Petrol Pump and Stone Crusher.          The Competent Authority for grant of Completion/Partial Completion/Occupancy Certificate shall be the same Competent Authority for granting approval of Layout Plan/ Building Plan as mentioned above, he added.

PUNJAB POLICE ARRESTS THREE MORE MEMBERS OF DRONE-BASED ARMS/AMMUNITIONS

IEP CHANDIGARH/ AMRITSAR, October 8:

          As part of the ongoing war against anti-social elements launched on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Police has arrested three more members of the drone-based arms/ammunition smuggling module and recovered a fresh cache of sophisticated arms and ammunition from their possession, said Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav here on Saturday. A total of five members of this module have been arrested so far.

Those arrested have been identified as Surinder Singh of village Barwala in Tarn Taran, Harchand Singh and Gursahib Singh, both residents of Valtoha in Amritsar. The Police have recovered Rs 1.01 crores cash, 500 grams heroin, 17 pistols along with 400 live cartridges, one MP-4 rifle along with 300 live cartridges, two weighing machines and two currency counting machines from their possession.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Police team from Counter Intelligence Amritsar had arrested two members of this module including a prisoner identified as Jaskaran Singh and his aide Rattanbir Singh, after recovering 10 foreign-made pistols from locations pinpointed by them, taking total recovery of pistols to 27.

Divulging details, DGP Gaurav Yadav said that during investigations it came out from Jaskaran Singh and Rattanbir Singh that their associate Surinder had picked up the consignment of arms/ammunition that was previously smuggled by them with the help of drones from Pakistan. Following inputs, Police managed to arrest Surinder on Friday and recovered 10 pistols along with six magazines and 100 live cartridges from his possession, he added.

He said that after investigations revealed that Surinder, on the directions of Jaskaran Singh, used to pick consignments from Rattanbir to further deliver them to two brothers Harchand and Gursahib, the Police teams have also arrested them. The Police have recovered the remaining part of consignment from their possession which includes seven Pistols, one MP-4 Rifle and 500 grams heroin, besides, Rs 1.01 crore cash, Weighing machines and currency counting machines from their possession.

The DGP said that further investigations are on to determine the other consignments from Pakistan, which may have been retrieved by this module for further delivery to unidentified persons for commission of anti-national activities, he added.

AIG Counter Intelligence Amritsar Amarjit Singh Bajwa said that during investigations, accused Jaskaran confessed that he is in contact with a Pakistan-based smuggler identified as Asif, who used to deliver consignment of narcotics and arms/ammunition from Pakistan using drone and Rattanbir used to retrieve them on his directions.

Meanwhile, a case FIR No. 30 dated 04.10.2022 had already been registered under section 25 of the Arms Act at Police Station SSOC Amritsar.

SPORTS MINISTER MEET HAYER HAILS HARMANPREET SINGH ON BEING SELECTED AS THE BEST HOCKEY PLAYER IN THE WORLD

      Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer has congratulated Indian Hockey team vice-captain Harmanpreet Singh for being selected as the best hockey player in the world for the year 2021-22 by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). Indian hockey team defender and ace drag flicker Harmanpreet Singh have been chosen FIH Player of the Year for the second consecutive year.          Meet Hayer personally congratulated Harmanpreet Singh and said that it is a matter of pride for Punjab that our player has been selected as the best player in the world for the second year in a row. Harmanpreet Singh got this honour last year too.          Harmanpreet Singh, a resident of Timmowal village in Amritsar district, scored 6 goals in Tokyo Olympic Games last year and 9 goals in Birmingham Commonwealth Games this year. India won the bronze medal after 41 years at the Olympics while winning the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games. Harmanpreet Singh has played 155 international matches for India so far and has scored a total of 115 goals.          The Sports Minister said that it is a matter of pride for India that apart from Harmanpreet Singh, Indian men’s team goalkeeper P.  Sreejesh and women’s team goalkeeper Savita Punia have also been chosen FIH Goal Keeper of the Year in men’s and women’s categories respectively. Meet Hayer said that with this proud achievement of the Indian players, budding hockey players in the country will be inspired. 

Broom will clean the mud in Gujarat to oust Lotus: says CM

          Asserting that Lotus blooms in mud but broom will clean this mud in Gujarat, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday said that it will pave way for wiping out Lotus from the state.

          Addressing the gathering during a public rally here today, the Chief Minister said that winds of change are blowing in Gujarat. He said that after 27 years a scenario has emerged where broom (Aam Aadmi Party) will oust Lotus (BJP) from the state. Bhagwant Mann said that the Congress is already on the ventilator in the state and the main competition is between AAP and BJP.

          The Chief Minister said that the huge attendance in rallies of the party symbolises that people are fed up from the incumbent government. He said that the people want change from this ineffective, tyrant and corrupt government. Bhagwant Mann said that they are not selling fake dreams but people are supporting for a change in system.

          The Chief Minister said that the country has been blessed with number of natural resources. However, he bemoaned that the leaders have ruined the country with their corrupt deeds. Bhagwant Mann said that the countrymen should come forward for ousting these corrupt leaders.

          Listing the several path breaking initiatives of the Aam Aadmi Government in Punjab, the Chief Minister said that from July 1 onwards the Punjab government has provided 600 units of free power to people in every bill cycle. He said that as a result of this 50 lakh households out of total 72.66 lakh have got zero power bill in the month of September. Likewise, Bhagwant Mann said that more than 17,000 government jobs have been given to the youth in last six months.

          Likewise, the Chief Minister said that these jobs have been provided purely on merit. He said that there is no system like paper leakage in the state as was prevalent in Gujarat. Bhagwant Mann said that job is totally provided through a transparent process.

          Similarly the Chief Minister said that his government is against the exploitative contractual system of jobs due to which they had started process of regularising services of more than 36,000 contractual employees in state. Bhagwant Mann said that his government has on Friday issued notification for regularising nearly 9000 teachers in the state. He said it is to ensure that permanent government employees can provide good governance to people.

          The Chief Minister further said that his government has dedicated 100 Aam Aadmi Clinics across the state to people for imparting quality health services. He said that these clinics provide free treatment to people along with providing them facility of free blood tests. Bhagwant Mann said that apart from ensuring quality health facilities to people, this has also reduced extra burden on big hospitals.

PRESIDENT OF INDIA IN CHANDIGARH; GRACES THE 90TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS OF INDIAN AIR FORCE; ATTENDS CIVIC RECEPTION AT PUNJAB RAJ BHAVAN

The President of India Droupadi Murmu, graced the 90th anniversary celebrations of the Indian Air Force at Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh today (October 8, 2022).
Later in the evening, the President attended a civic reception, hosted in her honour, at Punjab Raj Bhavan.

Addressing the gathering the President said that from social and religious reforms to freedom struggle, from agricultural revolution to industrial development, this region of Punjab and Haryana has played a very important role. The states of which Chandigarh is the capital have made a leading contribution in the development of Indian agriculture. In the 1960s, when our country was going through a food crisis, the farmers of Punjab and Haryana made the Green Revolution a success. The Green Revolution ensured the food security of the country.

The President said that Chandigarh has special significance for both Punjab – the state of five rivers, and Haryana – the cradle of Shrimad Bhagavad-Gita. It has the distinction of being the capital of both the states. People from both the states come to Chandigarh for education, employment, medical and many other reasons. Therefore, Chandigarh occupies a very important place in the lives of people of Punjab and Haryana.
The President said that every year, during the winter season, the issue related to the Air Quality Index gets discussed all over the country, especially in this region. Everyone suffers from the ill-effects of pollution. She said that the fundamental basis of the Indian way of life has been the harmony of humans with nature. The well-being of mankind lies in the art of living with nature.
The President said that along with the UT of Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana have been endowed with many unique gifts by nature. It is our duty to cherish them. We should leave all those ways, which are not in accordance with nature, and through which pollution spreads. This applies to all of us. We should also take the help of science and technology in creating harmony with nature.

Speaking about women empowerment, the President said that in Indian culture we worship divinity in the form of Durga, Laxmi, Kaali and Chandi. We pray Gramdevi before entering our villages. She said that men and women are two equal stakeholders of our country. They should be given equal opportunities to move ahead. She noted that today women are marching forward in all areas with determination and hard work. In villages also nowadays girls are being given more opportunities to study and make their careers. From serving in border areas to being fighter plane pilots the women are today present everywhere. She said that it is the responsibility of society to encourage both girls and boys to move forward in life so that our country can march ahead.
