Speed up resolution of complaints received on the helpline number of Revenue Department: Jimpa issues Instructions to officials

     Punjab Revenue Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa has directed the top officials of the department to issue instructions to all staff members for providing hassle-free and transparent services to the people of state. Jimpa said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has issued clear guidelines to provide transparent and corruption free services to the people and no leniency would be shown to any corrupt officer or employee.          He said that after assuming power in the state, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had issued a helpline number to register complaints against the corrupt officials/employees, which is showing great results. This year, in April, Revenue Department also issued a helpline number 8184900002 for filing complaints regarding the functioning of Revenue Department. NRIs can register their complaints on 9464100168. These numbers are for written complaints only.          It is pertinent to mention that till June 15, 1194 complaints were registered on the helpline number, out of which 464 complaints have been resolved. Out of the total complaints, 533 would be resolved in due course. Jimpa issued instructions to the officials to ensure all complaints are resolved within 21 days and redressal of complaints should be fast.          He instructed to put up display boards regarding the helpline number at important places in all the tehsils and district offices so that the common people get more awareness in this regard.

Rs.1.47 Crore releases for the repair and maintenance of the Ambedkar Institute of Careers and Courses building: Dr. Baljit Kaur

  The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann, is continuously making efforts for the welfare of the poor people. Various schemes are being implemented by the state government in this regard. Dr. Baljit Kaur  the Minister of Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minority, stated that an amount of Rs. 1 crore 47 lakh has been released for the repair and maintenance of the building of Ambedkar Institute of Careers and Courses at 3B-2 Mohali.          Giving more information Dr. Baljit Kaur the Minister of Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minority, highlighted that the Ambedkar Institute of Careers and Courses is one of the esteemed institutes in the state, offering high-quality career-oriented training and courses. Continuous efforts are being made in this institution to create an environment conducive to the optimal learning and development of the students. The institute provides excellent facilities in various fields, aiming to improve the standard of living for economically disadvantaged individuals.          Dr. Baljit Kaur emphasized the need for some repairs in the building and confirmed the immediate release of the aforementioned amount. Furthermore, she directed the officials of the department to ensure transparency and quality in the repair and maintenance works of the building of Ambedkar Institute of Careers and Courses, as well as to utilize the funds efficiently and effectively

Harjot Bains expresses satisfaction on the progress of Nangal Flyover Construction

    Punjab Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Friday expressed satisfaction over the progress of Nangal Flyover construction works.          While presiding over the weekly review meeting at the Punjab Civil Secretariat here, the Cabinet Minister said that the speed of construction found satisfactory for the past few days. He instructed the official of the construction company that as the construction work above the railway line would be completed, the pace of work should be accelerated to complete the remaining work of flyover as soon as possible.          During the meeting, the Cabinet Minister instructed the officer of the local administration to shift residents of ‘Nangal Kusht Ashram’ to new place in next two days and to vacate this place and start the construction work related to the flyover.          Mr. Bains also resolved the various issues between the construction company and the railway on the spot. He instructed the officials of Municipal Council Nangal to speed up the repair work of city roads and also to resolve the issues of street lights and CCTV cameras in the city.          Pertinently, the next weekly meeting regarding Nangal Flyover will be held on July 3rd, 2023. 

Punjab police conduct checking of ATMs, petrol pumps from security point of view

      In order to keep Punjab safe and secure as envisioned by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Police on Friday thoroughly checked ATMs and Petrol Pumps across the state from security point of view, especially, to ensure that Closed-Circuit Television (CCTVs) cameras are functioning and security guards were deployed.          The checking was conducted from 10am to 2pm simultaneously in all the 28 Police districts of the state on the directions of Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav. The CPs/SSPs were directed to personally monitor this operation and make sufficient number of Police teams to carry out checking.          Special DGP Arpit Shukla informed that the checking was conducted keeping in mind the vulnerability of Petrol Pumps and ATMs, which are prone and could be soft-target of anti-social elements.           He said that one team per Police Station was deployed to conduct inspection and review security arrangements at all such establishments. Police teams were also asked to ensure that all the ATMs and Petrol Pumps have CCTV cameras installed at the premises and are guarded by the watchman/security guard, he added.          At least 471 Police teams, involving over 3000 Police personnel, carried out checks at as many as 2758 ATMs and 1861 Petrol Pumps across the state.          Meanwhile, CPs/SSPs have also been directed to intensify Police Patrolling around such vulnerable places to keep vigil on anti-social elements.

Cabinet Minister inaugurates petrol pump at Bhogpur sugar mill

In a bid to further strengthen the cooperative structure in the state, Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh on Friday inaugurated newly set up Indian Oil Petrol Pump at Bhogpur Cooperative Sugar Mill.Giving more information, the Minister said that the move has been taken to create multiple income sources for the cooperative Sugar Mills Ltd. Bhogpur  so that they can explore new opportunities for their success. He said that the land for this fuel station has been provided by the Bhogpur Sugar Mill while Indian Oil Corporation has taken the initiative to set its retail outlet in the premises of the mill. Mr. Singh further mentioned that this joint-venture would ensure quality products and services to the customers with the assurance of the trusted Indian Oil Corporation brand.The minister said that the need of the hour was to give further fillip to the Cooperative movement for which the state government was making concerted efforts.The  minister said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann  was firmly committed to restore the pristine glory of the state. He said that the state government was duty-bound to put the state on high growth trajectory, for which strenuous effort were already afoot.Pointing out further, GM Bhopur Sugar Mill Gurvinder Pal Singh stated that the petrol pump is located at Bhogpur to Bullowal Road, a prominent place where heavy vehicular movement can be seen on a daily basis. He added that this pump would remain open for all passengers/commuters who can take the benefit of quality products of IOC. He stated that the entire operation of this fuel station would be carried out by the mill as requiste staff has already been deployed here. He thanked Punjab Government for taking up this unique initiative to further strengthen the cooperative sector in the state.          On the occasion MLA Urmur Tanda Jasvir Singh Gill (Raja), AAP leader Jit Lal Bhatti, DGM Indian Oil Corporation Limited Rajan Beri, Chairman Sugar Mill Bhogpur Paramvir Singh, General Manager CSM Bhogpur, Gurvinder Pal Singh, Director Manjit Singh, Vice Chairman Parminder Singh Malhi, Director Harjinder Singh Naryal and others were also present.

PPP income verification related complaints will be settled in 2 months: Hry CM

 Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the complaints of citizens received regarding income verification being done under Parivar Pehchan Patra will be resolved in the next two months.For this, Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) have been given overriding power to update the income entered in the PPP by verifying the income on the basis of documents, said Sh. Manohar Lal, who is also the Chairman, of Haryana Parivar Pehchan Authority (HPPA), while presiding over the 5th meeting of the Authority, held here today. Deputy Chairperson, Sh. B.K Gairola also remained present on this occasion.Sh. Manohar Lal directed the officers concerned that for data updation related to PPP, joint training of concerned stakeholders including the Additional Deputy Commissioners should be conducted so that the work of data updation could be completed as soon as possible.The Chief Minister was apprised that till now more than 67 lakh families are registered with PPP and various options have been created to ease the process of verification, correction module, grievance redressal etc and to facilitate the applicant to get the benefits of government schemes.Later interacting with the media persons after the meeting, the Chief Minister said that Parivar Pehchan Patra is an ambitious scheme of the State Government and Haryana is the first state to have started such a unique initiative. Due to this, citizens are getting the benefits of more than 500 schemes and services of the government like ration cards, pension, CHIRAYU Haryana, e-fard, caste certificates, income certificates etc. while sitting at their home thus saving their time to visit the offices to get their work done.The Chief Minister further informed that proper arrangements have also been made to settle the complaints of citizens related to PPP. So far 8.64 lakh complaints have been received, out of which more than 8.18 lakh complaints have been disposed of. Apart from this, the officers have been directed to take feedback from the complainants as to how satisfied they are with the settlement of their grievances.In response to another question, the Chief Minister said that the present state government is constantly taking new initiatives for the welfare of the people, and has formulated many schemes, which are benefiting the people today. System change is not easy, but the acceptance of new initiatives increases on the basis of experiences, he added.“Today, the citizens of the state are getting the benefits of government schemes in an easy and hassle-free manner. The opposition says that they will discontinue PPP, portal and merit-based recruitment system. The more the opposition will criticize our welfare policies, the more befitting reply they will get from the Public,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.Responding to a question regarding ‘Mahagathbandhan’, the Chief Minister said that such things keep happening in a democracy. There was a time when Congress was synonymous with governance, however after the emergency public got awakened and understood the power of the vote to show doors to Congress. ‘Janta Janardan’ knows everything, they can very well know the difference between right and wrong and takes decisions very carefully.Chief Secretary, Sh. Will allocate Rs. 1000 crores to nurture entrepreneurship: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister

Hry CM gives major relief to Antyodaya families having power disputes

In a major relief to the defaulting power consumers having annual income of less than Rs. 1 lakh, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal announced that all such families, who have been declared as power defaulters or whose power connections have been disconnected will get a complete wave off on their penalty amount.“Irrespective of the default amount, such consumers will not have to pay more than the average bill of only one year, even if their bill is pending for 10 years. Such families will have to pay a maximum of Rs 3600 only for consumption on an average of 150 units per month. Out of the Rs. 3600, the consumers will have to make a payment of 25 percent for the re-issuance of the power connections,” said Sh. Manohar Lal while presiding over an important meeting with the Power Department held here today.Energy Minister, Sh. Ranjit Singh also remained present in the meeting.Sh. Manohar Lal said that getting an adequate supply of water and electricity is a fundamental right of any citizen. Therefore, for the convenience of the citizens, it has been decided to provide electricity connections even in irregular colonies. Citizens will only have to apply for the connection, no other document will be asked from them and the power connection will be issued to them in about 1 month, said the Chief Minister.The Chief Minister directed the officers concerned that a scheme to voluntarily disclose the power load for agricultural tubewells launched in the year 2018 should be restarted for the farmers. If a farmer wants to install a bigger motor, he will now have to disclose a voluntary load, after which the load will be increased. Now the farmers will not face any difficulty in increasing their power load, said Sh. Manohar Lal.He said that farmers should be motivated to adopt micro-irrigation schemes. That’s why planning needs to be done in the interest of farmers. Solar energy and micro irrigation should be promoted, added the Chief Minister.He said that a call centre or helpline number should be started for the release of new connections. As soon as the consumer applies for the connection, a message should be immediately sent to his registered mobile on which day he will get the connection and metre, added Sh. Manohar Lal.The Chief Minister said that ‘Bijli Panchayats’ should be held to resolve the electricity-related complaints of the consumers. Errors in electricity bills and other complaints should be resolved in these Panchayats.Additional Chief Secretary, Power Department, Sh. A.K Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh V. Punjab CM vows to ensure supply of canal water at the tail end of the last field in the state

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday reiterated the firm commitment of his government to ensure canal water at the tail end of the last field in the state.In a statement issued here today, the Chief Minister said that the state government is duty bound for this noble cause. He said already due to strenuous efforts of the state government water has reached the far flung areas of Fazilka districts. Bhagwant Mann said that the state government had delivered a promise made to cotton cultivators of the state that canal water will reach their fields from April 1. Expressing deep concern over the gravity of the emerging situation due to the fast depleting water table, the Chief Minister said almost all the blocks in the state are in the dark zone as far as the groundwater is concerned. Bhagwant Mann said that it has happened due to reckless pumping of water in fields adding that the trend needs to be checked immediately so that our future generations do-not have to strive for water. He said that optimum utilisation of canal water can reduce the burden on ground water thereby checking its depletion. The Chief Minister said that the state government is taking massive steps for optimum utilisation of the canal water to save the groundwater. He said that at present Punjab is using only 33%-34% of its canal water adding that this will be enhanced in the coming days. Bhagwant Mann envisioned that if Punjab can enhance the canal water utilisation to 60% in first phase then nearly four lakh tubewells out of total 14 lakh can be stopped thereby helping in saving water.

Haryana Chief Secretary Issues Instructions on Reservation in Promotion for Scheduled Castes

The Haryana Chief  Secretary, Mr. Sanjeev  Kaushal today issued instructions regarding procedure to implement  reservation in promotion for Scheduled Castes (SC) employees in the state.In his letter addressed to all Administrative Secretaries and Heads of Departments states that the Supreme Court in its judgment dated January 28, 2022, has laid down certain conditions that must be fulfilled by the government in order to implement the policy of reservation in promotions.These conditions include the collection of quantifiable data regarding inadequacy of representation of Schedule castes and Scheduled Tribes, application of data to each cadre separately. According to another condition, if a roster exists, the unit for operation of the roster would be the cadre for which the quantifiable data would have the collected and applied in regard to the filling up of the vacancies in the roster.The Chief Secretary has asked them to strictly maintain reservation rosters and diligently evaluate the suitability of officers being considered for promotion in order to maintain administrative efficiency. Since the Jarnail Singh batch of cases is currently pending in the Supreme Court of India, any promotion orders issued will be subject to further orders that may be passed by the Supreme Court in the said batch of cases.These instructions aim to ensure fair and equitable implementation of reservation in promotion for SCs, in accordance with the law and the guidelines set forth by the Supreme Court.
