Haryana CM announces Rs. 21 lakh for Pandit Jasraj Cultural Foundation

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar while paying rich tributes to Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj ji on his 93rd Birth Anniversary announced to give Rs. 21 lakh from his discretionary fund for the Pandit Jasraj Cultural Foundation.

While, speaking as the Chief Guest during at the press meet organized to celebrate the 93rd Birth Anniversary of Pandit Jasraj ji, Sh. Manohar Lal made several important announcements for the native village of Pandit Jasraj.  These include construction of Pandit Jasraj welcome gates at both the entrances of his native village Pilli Mandori, district Fatehabad, establishing two volleyball nurseries for boys and girls, developing park and Vayayamshalas, developing dirty water ponds of the village as model ponds by the Haryana Pond and Wastewater Management Authority, construction of a new library building and renaming the Oxyvan established in Panchkula after Pandit Jasraj.

Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Sh. Manohar Lal said that Haryana’s world-famous Son, Pandit Jasraj ji has brought great pride to the State and in order to continue with his legacy, a framework for the development of Pandit Jasraj’s village Pilli Mandori has been made by the State Government. 

Sharing his views on how our rich culture and music play a critical role in overall development and growth of the next generation, the Sh. Manohar Lal said, “It is a matter of pride that Pandit Jasraj Ji was born in Haryana. He is considered one of the greatest Indian Classical Vocalists. His contribution is a treasure of the musical world. I assure to extend all possible cooperation to the Foundation for carrying forward the legacy of Pandit Jasraj ji.”

The Chief Minister said that art and culture is an integral part of Haryana’s soil. While carrying forward our rich traditions and culture we have been organizing International Gita Mahotsav to take immortal message taught by Lord Shri Krishna across the globe, he said.

“The work of any government is not limited to infrastructural development only but working for the welfare of the society while instilling a social responsibility is also one of the utmost duties of any government.  Beti Bacho Beti Padhao call given by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi is one of the best examples of this social responsibility presented by Haryana,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.

Wife of Pandit Jasraj ji, Smt. Madhura Pandit Jasraj ji expressed gratitude towards Sh. Manohar Lal for paying rich tributes to Pandit Jasraj Ji by making several important announcements for his village.

Echoing the same, Durga Jasraj (Founder of Pandit Jasraj Cultural Foundation and daughter of Pandit Jasraj ji) said that Haryana’s world-famous Son, Pandit Jasraj ji has brought great pride to the State and in order to continue with his legacy, the Foundation shall undertake various activities year-round to develop and sustain Cultural awareness amongst the people of the State.

Apart from soft initiatives, Durga Jasraj also spoke about the development of Pili Mandori village, the birthplace of Pandit Jasraj ji to upgrade educational facilities, Sports facilities, the existing Pandit Motiram Pustkalay and other works contributing to responsible Biodiversity in the area.

Padma Shri Sonu Nigam expressed his joy at being a part of the occasion and said that he is proud that his roots belong to Haryana. He said that besides sports and agriculture, Haryana has shined bright even in the field of music.

“There is a great need to work more to promote music and for this whenever Haryana will need my contribution, I will come happily,” said Sh. Sonu Nigam.

Registration for Haryana Super 100 programme till January 31, 2023

Haryana Government has invited applications for the Super-100 programme being run to identify talented students of the state. The last date to apply online is January 31, 2023 till 12 midnight.

Giving information in this regard, an official spokesman said under the scheme, free coaching is provided by the Haryana government to students who have cleared class 10 and aspire to crack NEET and JEE Advanced.

He informed that the students who have secured 80 percent marks in the 10th standard examination and those selected in the Super-100 will get free coaching for NEET and JEE. With this, the dream of talented students to become doctors and engineers can be materialised through this aspiring programme. He informed that the students to be selected in the Super-100 programme will have to pass two exams. Level I exam will be held on February 10, 2023 and level II exam will be held from April 10 to April 20, 2023. The result of level one exam will be declared on February 28, 2023 and the result of level two exam will be released on April 25, 2023. Classes will commence from May 3 for the selected students. Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam is committed to provide uninterrupted power supply to the consumers. Several ambitious programs are being run by the Nigam for quick resolution of the problems of the consumers.

The Chairman Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum, Kurukshetra of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam along with the members of the Forum would take the proceedings of the forum in the office of SE/OP Circle, UHBVN, Panchkula, SCO-96, 1st Floor, Sector-5, Panchkula to redress the grievances / to hear the complaint of the consumers (belonging to Panchkula District only) and to entertain new complaints from 11:00 AM to 04:00 PM on dated 30.01.2023 (Monday).

The CGRF shall take all grievances/complaints of consumers like billing problems, voltage complaints, problems in metering, disconnection and reconnection of power supply, interruptions, failure of power supply, efficiency, safety, reliability, noncompliance of Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission orders etc. However, the cases of theft and unauthorized use of electricity, offences and penalties as specified under section 126 and section 135 to 139 of Electricity Act, accidents and inquiries as under section 161 of the Act would not be considered by the Forum.

Haryana Public Health Engineering and Cooperation Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal said that Portable drinking water is a crucial component of every person’s existence. The government’s primary aim is to ensure that all of its citizens have access to pure and clean drinking water, he added.In the state, under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, effective steps are being taken in the direction of providing pure and clean drinking water to all the citizens by connecting them with the Jal Jeevan Mission campaign.Public Health Engineering Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal was presiding over the meeting of officers of Public Health Engineering Department at his residence in Bawal. He said that the concerned authorities should ensure that the common people do not have to face any inconvenience related to drinking water. According to him, the Haryana government’s “Har Ghar, Nal Se Jal Scheme” ensures that every household in the villages has access to 70 litres of safe drinking water per person per day. He directed that more tanks should be built by expanding the capacity of existing tanks wherever there are water works based on canal water in order to ensure there is no shortage of water.Dr. Banwari Lal said that in cities where there is a problem of rain water drainage, comprehensive arrangements should be made for water drainage. He added that additional land should be taken in the villages through public representatives and administration to increase the accessibility of drinking water. He further stated that wherever water and sewerage lines are to be laid in Rewari, Bawal and Dharuhera cities, make sure to prepare an estimate under the AMRUT scheme for further approval.Chief Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department, Sh. Devender Dahiya, Superintendent Engineer, Sh. Sanjeev Kumar Duhan, Executive Engineer, Sh. Ravinder Kumar Gothwal, Executive Engineer, Sh. Vinay Prakash Chauhan and many senior officers were present during the meeting.

Haryana Govt invites applications to keep folk artist units and artists on empanelment basis for three years

Haryana Government has invited applications to keep the folk artist units and artists in the state on empanelment basis for three years. For this, interested artists or units can submit the application by February 9, 2023, by filling the prescribed proforma.

Giving more information in this regard, an official spokesperson of the Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture Department said that folk artist units and artists are enlisted by the department, if the artist or group is proficient in their work, they can apply before the last date. The unit/group can also be sent outside the state and district for publicity on behalf of the government. The empanelled artists have to ensure mass publicity of public welfare schemes and programmes among the masses.

A unit group will receive about 20 campaign programmes every month, he stated. However, a single performer may receive more performances than this. Unit artists will not be entitled to remuneration merely by enlistment but will be paid in lieu of work. Parties hired on contract will have to give a program of at least two and a half hours. Three programs may also be given in a day during a special publicity campaign.

The spokesperson said that at the time of application, the applicant must give an attested copy of his residence certificate and his passport size photograph. Ration card, driving license, certificate issued by sarpanch, municipality or government officer will also be valid for residential certificate. A 36-year-old woman suffering from multiple fibroids in uterus has undergone robot assisted minimally invasive myomectomy and hysteroscopic procedure at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali recently.

The patient had suffered two miscarriages in the past and was unable to conceive. Post procedure she is now healthy fit to conceive

Dev Samaj School School’s NSS contingent bags prize

The NSS unit of I.S Dev Samaj Sr. Sec School Sector 21 -C, Chandigarh has bagged the third prize in the category of ‘Best Contingent NSS Boys/ NSS Girls School Children’ in the Republic Day Parade 2023, organised by Chandigarh Administration. 

The Principal Mrs. Sabeeha Dhillon Mangat congratulated the students for  this achievement.

Meanwhile the school celebrated India’s 74th   Republic Day in the school premises. The programme was initiated with the National Song ‘Vande Matram’ which was followed by Flag Hoisting ceremony and National Anthem. Students sang patriotic songs and gave dance performances to mark the day. Homage and tribute was paid to all the Great Freedom Fighters.

Meet Hayer conducts surprise checking of PIS players’ mess*

Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer on Saturday took serious notice of the poor quality food being served to the players during surprise check at the mess in the wing of the Punjab Institute of Sports (PIS) in the Phase 9 sports complex in Mohali.

The Sports Minister himself also ate the food and inspected the food preparation materials in the mess. He said that the food is not at all satisfactory and below the standard. He warned the mess workers present on the spot regarding the poor quality of food being served and the lack of nutritional food for the players. He immediately called the contractor on the spot and told him that such callosity is not at all tolerable. 

He said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will not compromise with the health and diet of the players. He made it clear to the contractor that if this happens again in the future, the contract will be cancelled. On the instructions of the Sports Minister, PIS issued a warning letter to the contractor. He categorically said that only quality edible products should be used and it should be ensured that nutritious food, which is mandatory for diet, is served to the players. The Sports Minister also instructed the officers to conduct such checking campaigns across the state and take strict action if any shortcoming is found in service of nutritious food. He said that if the player does not get a proper diet, then better results will never be achieved.

It is worth mentioning About 350 players of Hockey, Boxing, Wrestling, Judo, Weightlifting, Basketball and Gymnastics are taking training in this PIS sports wing.

The minister was accompanied by Director Sports Amit Talwar.

Aam Aadmi clinics; old wine in new bottles: Warring

Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today described as merely publicity stunt the opening of the Aam Aadmi clinics in Punjab saying, it was a classic case of old wine in new bottles as the government was only renaming the existing health facilities. 

Besides, the PCC president remarked, these clinics looked more like Aam Aadmi Party offices and extension counters than health centres.

Reacting to the opening of the clinics in Punjab, he pointed out, that the state government was only renaming the already existing facilities in the and naming these as “Aam Aadmi clinics” as its purpose was more to gain political mileage than provide healthcare to the people.

Warring said, in the mad race of getting the numbers of so called clinics jacked up, the AAP government had replaced the historic and religious names of various centres including the one in Amritsar which was named after one of the Panj Pyaras.

He asked as why these clinics were not named as “government clinics” and why as Aam Aadmi clinics with Chief Minister’s photograph.

Who is paying for it, the government or the AAP? he asked, while asserting that the names of these clinics must be changed. He also hinted at initiating legal course for the same. 

“First of all there was no need to open such clinics as Punjab already has a robust healthcare system which was proved by the fact that the government was only renaming the existing healthcare facilities and superimposing party name on them which is illegal”, he said, while adding, “it was only trying to propagate and publicise its party name”.
