Trouble and turmoil in AAP govt: Warring

IEP CHANDIGARH

Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today expressed serious concern over the “trouble and turmoil” in the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, with open and outright confrontation between the political executive and the bureaucracy.

In a statement, Warring referred to the removal of the health secretary over his reported refusal to approve Rs 30 crores for advertising a goverment scheme whose cost was Rs 10 crores only. He sought a clarification from the government on the issue, saying it was a matter of grave concern as how Punjab’s money was being squandered away in such a brazenly lavish manner.

At the same time, the PCC president pointed out, it indicated serious confrontation between the bureaucracy and the political executive, which is not good for Punjab. He said, the health secretary was not the first officer to be shunted out and he was not going to be the last one either, given the way the AAP government was being run in Punjab.

Warring said, with every passing day, the AAP government was revealing its inexperience, incompetence and inefficiency and now it has even failed to handle the bureaucracy which was trying to exploit the government’s inexperience and incompetence.

Otherwise, he asked, how would the bureaucrats have the  audacity to disobey the government. “We as the principal opposition party are concerned over the erosion of the political authority thanks to your inexperience and incompetence”, the PCC president told the government, while asking it to set its house in order. “If your intentions are clear, nobody can dare to defy you”, he told the government while advising it not to give any excuse for defiance to the bureaucracy.

Will file a defamation case against Wrestling Federation president, after taking legal advice, says Hooda

IEP Karnal, January 23

Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said that the BJP-JJP government of Haryana does not have a single achievement to count and this government has proved to be a failure on every front.

Hooda was addressing a press conference here. He had reached Karnal today to condole the demise of former Deputy Speaker Chaudhary Ved Pal. Apart from this, he also participated in many social programs here.

Talking to reporters, Hooda once again reiterated the demand for increasing the rate of sugarcane. He said the Congress government in the state had increased the rate of sugarcane from Rs 117 to Rs 310. “The Congress government increased the rate of sugarcane by 165%, which means an increase of 17% every year. While BJP has increased by a total of 17% in the entire 8 and a quarter years. Congress used to increase this much every year, as this government did in 8 years. This year the government did not increase the rate by even a single penny. That’s why farmers are on the streets today,” he said.

The Leader of the Opposition said that today, every section including farmers, laborers, traders, employees, rural and urban people is suffering from the misdeeds of the government. “Haryana, which was number one in terms of per capita income, per capita investment and development during the Congress government before 2014, has today become number one in unemployment, corruption, inflation and crime,” he pointed out.

“Whole Haryana is yearning for development for the last 8 years. Even the Kalpana Chawla Medical College built in Karnal during the Congress tenure was announced to be made a university by the BJP as soon as the government was formed, but till date the government has not fulfilled his promise,” he said.

Hooda said that along with all sections of the state, the sarpanch is also continuously agitating because, the government, steeped in corruption from head to toe, wants to establish another base of corruption in the name of e-tendering. “The government should trust the elected Sarpanchs and give them a chance to develop the village. Through e-tendering, the government wants to deprive the villages of development,” he stated.

The former Chief Minister reiterated the demand for an impartial inquiry into the allegations levelled by wrestlers against the wrestling association president. He said that the wrestling association president had unnecessarily dragged his and Deepender Hooda’s name in this matter to hide his fault. He said he is taking legal advice to file a defamation suit against the president of the wrestling body.

Hooda also thanked the people of Karnal, local leaders and workers for making the Bharat Jodo Yatra a success. He said that the yatra from Firozpur Jhirka to Ambala received tremendous support everywhere. He thanked the people of Karnal for coming out in large numbers to support Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Dr. Agrawal said that Kurukshetra is known as renowned seat of culture and civilization and was considered as one of the most ancient places of pilgrimage of the World.  Here on the banks of the sacred River Saraswati Vedas and Puranas were composed and compiled. About 5159 years back on the first day of Mahabharat battle, the eternal message of Srimadbhagavad Gita was delivered by Sri Krishna to Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Since then Kurukshetra is identified as birthplace of Gita, he added.

He said that, when Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi visited Kurukshetra in the year 2014, he had said that every possible effort would be made to recognize Kurukshetra as the place of Gita. Giving a concrete shape to this thought, under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. In the last 8 years, 48 officers and employees have shown doors, some forced to take premature retirement in Hry

IEP Chandigarh, January 22

In the last 8 years,  as many as 48 corrupt, non-performing officers and employees had to face the flak of the zero-tolerance policy against corruption adopted by the Manohar Lal-led government.

In the last eight years, the Manohar Sarkar, while following the footsteps of the Central Government, has terminated these officers/employees in the age group of 50 to 55 years in the last 8 years.

Meanwhile, afraid of meeting the same fate as those involved in corrupt practices, some of the employees who were negligent in performing their duties, making fake certificates, etc even took premature retirement.

The list of such officers and employees includes Assistant Professor, Sub Inspector, Horticulture Development Officer, Industrial Extension Officer, Naib Tehsildar, DRO, Supervisor, Manager, Resident Audit Officer, Junior Auditor, Assistant Registrar, Deputy Engineer, Clerk, Assistant, Havaldar, Peon, Godown Keeper, etc. Officers and employees are included.

These employees were working in the offices of various departments, boards, and corporations of the Government of Haryana.

The Chief Minister said that the government keeps evaluating the performance of officers and employees from time to time. After reviewing the service records, the employees who work honestly are honored, while the action is taken against the non-performing ones.

“We aim to make the governance system transparent. The state government is moving forward on the basic principle of minimum government and maximum governance. Corruption has no place in such a system. Efforts are being made to completely curb corruption in the state,” says Sh. Manohar Lal.

Significantly, as per the government rules,  the services of officers or employees who do not work properly can be terminated at the age of 50-55 years or after 20 years of service. But the previous governments did not strictly implement these rules, because of which even the officers and employees who were unfit for the job continued to work.

Till the year 2014, when only 32 people were shown the doors, the year 2014, the Haryana government under the leadership of Sh. Manohar Lal implemented these rules strictly in the public interest, as a result of which 48 government employees were shown the doors.

Haryana under the leadership of Sh. Manohar Lal is constantly working on the policy of zero tolerance against corruption while establishing a transparent system in the state.

While in past also strict decisions have been taken by the government against the employees and officers involved in such corrupt practices.
