Haryana beats Delhi, Punjab and Chandigarh in Nipun Yojana

 In the National Examination 2022 under Nipun Bharat, Nipun Haryana programme, the students of Haryana have performed better than Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh along with outstanding National Average in Hindi, English and Mathematics.

        The impact of the Nipun Haryana programme under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal and Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal is now visible on the ground. State Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal said that the first priority of the State Government and the Education Department is to provide free tablets and 2 GB data free to all 37,000 PRT teachers of the state as part of this plan of the government. It is the effect of the training programmes running under the Nipun Haryana programme that now the students of classes 1 to 3 in the schools are not only learning through recreational activities but also enhancing their knowledge. He added that figures from the NCERT-conducted National Examination 2022 report are quite remarkable

         Giving information about the report of Foundational Learning Study, Assistant Director, Sh. Kuldeep Mehta said that according to class III at the national level, only 46 percent students have achieved this level and successfully qualified the minimum global competency parameters, whereas in Haryana this skill is achieved. 65 schools secured 20 marks more than the national level. While 65 per cent students of Haryana are proficient in Hindi language as per class III level, the average of students of Delhi is only 50 per cent while in Chandigarh only 55 per cent students are proficient in Hindi language. In this, the students’ understanding of spoken language and sound, letter and word decoding skills were tested.

         He said that in Mathematics also Haryana has performed better than Delhi and Chandigarh. While 51 per cent of Class III students demonstrated proficiency in Mathematics, Delhi average was 47 per cent, while Chandigarh average was around 39 percent in Mathematics. In English language, students from Haryana topped with 77 per cent marks while only 66 per cent students from Punjab were found to be proficient in English language up to class III level. On the other hand, 62 per cent of students in Delhi and only 42 per cent of Chandigarh students are proficient in English at class III level.

Haryana Chief Minister pays heartfelt tribute on the demise of Sh. Mulayam Singh Yadav

Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has condoled the demise of former Defense Minister of the country and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Sh. Mulayam Singh Yadav. Remembering Sh. Mulayam Singh Yadav, the Chief Minister paid his heartfelt tributes to him.

He stated that the passing of Sh. Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founder of the Samajwadi Party and  Former Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh, is a tragic loss for the political world. May God rest the departed soul in peace and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this tragic loss. Sh. Yadav was admitted in the hospital for a long time. He breathed his last at the age of 82.

Haryana Governor releases book titled ‘The Harambee Factor’

Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Monday released the book titled ‘The Harambee Factor’ written by former Ambassador Shri Gurjit Singh at Raj Bhavan. On this occasion, Chief Principal Secretary to the dChief Minister, Shri DS Dhesi and Secretary to Governor, Shri Atul Dwivedi, were also present.

        Congratulating Shri Singh, Governor Shri Dattatraya said that ‘The Harambee Factor’ would prove to be important in further strengthening India’s economic and developmental partnership with Africa.

        “The book will also make the readers aware of the development work done by India in Africa. Students with interest in international relations will gain insights into India’s relations with African countries, which will not only increase their knowledge but will also benefit them in preparing for competitive examinations, said Shri Dattatraya.

        Shri Gurjit Singh, who has been India’s Ambassador to many Asian countries including African Union countries, Kenya, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Philippines, Germany, said that in this book economic, social and cultural relations of Africa with India during the last two decades have been described.

        According to Shri Singh, ‘The Harambee Factor’ has been prepared on the basis of India-Africa policy from 2000 to 2020. This will act as a guideline to further strengthen the relations between the two countries, he added.

More than 1200 new buses to be added to Haryana Roadways’ fleet

In a bid to provide better transportation facilities to people in the state,  as many as 1275 new buses will be added to Haryana Roadways’ fleet. These include 1000 non-Ac buses, 153 AC buses and 128 minibuses. Besides this, approval was also given for the purchase of 33 buses to be separately purchased for the police department.

        A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) and Department High Powered Purchase Committee (DHPPC) chaired by Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal held here today. During the meeting approval for the purchases of goods and items to be procured by various departments worth more than Rs. 2500 crore were approved.

        Transport Minister Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, Power Minister, Sh. Ranjit Chautala, Cooperation Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Sh. Kamal Gupta and Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Sh. Anoop Dhanak also remained present during the meeting.

        Later addressing the media persons, Sh. Manohar Lal said that a total of 31 agendas of 11 Departments namely Transport, Irrigation, Police, PHED, HVPNL, DHVBN, UHBVN, HPGCL and various Government Departments, Boards and Corporations were tabled in the meeting. Out of which 24 agendas were approved. Most of the agendas were related to Power, Transport, and Irrigation departments, he added.

        He further informed that an agenda regarding the use of torrefied biomass pellets in thermal plants was also discussed in the meeting. A decision in this regard will be taken later and the tender will be floated in the coming week.

        Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Sh. Anurag Rastogi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V Umashankar, Chairman, Power Corporations, Sh. P.K Das and the Administrative Secretaries of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.

Mauritius MP Nandcoomar Bodha meets Haryana Chief Minister

Mauritius MP, Sh.  Nandcoomar Bodha, who is currently on a seven-day visit to India, met the Haryana Chief Minister and discussed the friendly ties between India and Mauritius.

Sh.  Nandcoomar Bodha has previously held several ministerial positions including Foreign Affairs, Tourism, and Agriculture in the Republic of Mauritius. Referring to the International Gita Mahotsav organized by the Haryana Government in Mauritius in the year 2018, Bodha thanked Sh. Manohar Lal for successfully organizing the biggest Gita festival in Mauritius.

He said that this event has created a special awareness about the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita in his country. He also expressed his desire to set up a Gita Kendra on similar lines to the already established Ramayana Centre in Mauritius.

The Chief Minister welcomed and honoured Sh. Nandcoomar Bodha and his wife Smt. Satyabhama Bodha by presenting shawls.

Sh. Manohar Lal also shared memories of his stay in the Republic of Mauritius, which is called Mini-India, during the International Gita Festival. He expressed hope that now people there will celebrate the Gita Mahotsav every year at their level and will work to take the universal message of harmony and brotherhood as taught in the Bhagavad Gita to the entire humanity.

Notably, Sh.  Nandcoomar Bodha, who came to India on a personal visit with his wife Smt. Satyabhama Bodha shared that about 52 percent of the population in Mauritius is Hindus, whose ancestors had gone to Mauritius 160 years ago at the behest of the British in search of work and a good life, but were treated like bonded labourers.

Later, with their educational strength and hard work, they moved forward in life and made a special place in Mauritius. Today, in Mauritius most Indians are serving the top positions including the Prime Minister and the President.

Lauding Haryana, Sh. Nandcoomar Bodha said that today State is at the forefront in the field of agriculture. He also expressed the desire to work with Haryana in the field of agriculture in Mauritius.

Meanwhile, Sh. Manohar Lal said that he is happy that the Indians who have gone to Mauritius have kept the culture and traditions of their country alive and have upheld the principles of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

On this occasion, India Mauritius Trade and Cultural Friendship Forum President Pritpal Singh Pannu, his wife Smt. Manjeet Kaur Pannu and National Integrated Forum of Artists and Activists (NIFA) youth wing President, Sh. Durgesh Chaudhary also remained present.

In view of the bye-election of Adampur Assembly Constituency, State Election Commission defers Panchayat elections in Fatehabad

Secretary, State Election Commission, Dr. Inderjeet said that in view of the bye-election of Adampur Assembly Constituency proposed to be held on November 3, Panchayat elections in Fatehabad district are deferred till further orders.         He said that State Election Commission had announced the schedule for the election for various posts of Panchayati Raj Institutions on Friday.  As per the announcement, In the first phase, elections were to be held in 10 districts including Fatehabad, informed Dr. Inderjeet.         He further shared that after the announcement,  in the late evening the DGP, Haryana had expressed difficulty in deploying adequate police force for conducting elections for the posts of Members of Zila Parishad,  Panchayat Samitis and Gram Panchayats in Fatehabad district proposed to be held on October, 30 and  November 2, 2022, in view of the bye-election of Adampur Assembly Constituency proposed to be held on November 3 2022.        Considering the same, the Panchayat elections in Fatehabad district are deferred till further orders. The revised election schedule for conducting elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions in Fatehabad district will be announced later along with the remaining districts, informed Dr. Inderjeet.

TRANSPORT MINISTER LALJIT SINGH BHULLAR CONDUCTS SURPRISE CHECK AT SRI ANANDPUR SAHIB AND NANGAL BUS STANDS

Punjab Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar, on Sunday, conducted a surprise check at the bus stands of Sri Anandpur Sahib and Nangal City and Nangal Bus Depot.          At Sri Anandpur Sahib Bus Stand, the Transport Minister directed the depot officials to immediately start the public bus service between Sri Anandpur Sahib and Amritsar, the two centers of Sikhism, from tomorrow i.e. October 10. He inquired about the details regarding non-operation of buses on this route at the General Manager’s office and instructed the General Manager Paramvir Singh that there is anger among public due to non-operation of buses, so it should be ensured that buses continuously ply on this important route in future.          Reviewing the cleanliness at the bus stand, shops and toilets, the Transport Minister directed the General Manager to pay more attention towards cleanliness of the bus stand. S. Bhullar, while interacting with the passengers and listening to their problems, said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is paying much attention for making the public bus service more reliable and comfortable.          The Transport Minister also paid obeisance at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib. He was bestowed the siropao by the management.          While visiting the bus stand and bus depot at Nangal city, Transport Minister S. Bhullar enquired about the income deficit of the depot and reason for the stationary buses. The Minister was apprised that due to the construction of a RoB over the railway crossing on the Una highway, many routes are closed and around 18 buses have been shifted to Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana, due to which the income has decreased. The Cabinet Minister, while taking stock of the stationary buses in the Depot, instructed the General Manager Gursewak Singh Rajpal to immediately making arrangement for passing of the buses so that these can be operationalized and the loss of income of the depot could be met. He also instructed the GM to ensure that there should be no shortage of buses’ spare parts in the depot.          On the demand of the depot employees, the Transport Minister assured that the concrete bus washing dug will be constructed soon. He also said that he will visit the bus stands across the state in coming days and take every possible step to make the public bus service meet the aspirations of the people.

ENERGY EFFICIENT WATER PUMPSETS TO BE INSTALLED IN 23 AMRITSAR VILLAGES: AMAN ARORA

          In order to save energy and promote energy efficiency to address the climate change problem, Punjab Government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann has decided to install energy efficient pumpsets for rural drinking water supply in Amritsar district.

          Disclosing this, Punjab New and Renewable Energy Sources Minister Mr Aman Arora said that BEE star labelled energy efficient pumpsets will be installed for rural drinking water schemes in 23 villages of Verka and Attari block in Amritsar district.

          The project is aimed at utilising the energy saving potential and performance evaluation of the selected water pumping system, Mr. Aman Arora said, adding that as per various studies, there is an energy saving potential of 20-25% by replacing existing old pumpsets with energy efficient pumpsets in rural drinking water pumping systems.

          He further informed that the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), the nodal agency for promotion and development of renewable energy programmes/projects and energy conservation programmes in the state, has invited e-tender for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of BEE star labelled energy efficient pumpsets of rural drinking water pumping system.

          The interested companies can log on to the website eproc.punjab.gov.in for more details. The closing date of the e-tender is 20th October, 2022 (till 3 pm), he added.

36TH NATIONAL GAMES; PUNJAB’S SWIMMER CHAHAT ARORA BAGS TWO GOLD AND ONE SILVER WITH TWO NEW NATIONAL RECORDS

In the ongoing 36th National Games at Gujarat, Punjab’s swimmer Chahat Arora won two gold and one silver medal with two new national records and has put Punjab on the national sports map in swimming. Punjab also won 1-1 gold medals in judo and cycling while five silver medals in Judo. In the National games, Punjab has won a total of 66 medals so far with 17 gold, 27 silver and 22 bronze medals.Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer while congratulating Chahat Arora said that with Chahat Arora’s golden achievement, the sport of swimming in Punjab will flourish. This will give inspiration to new age swimmers. Sports Minister also congratulated the other winners.Notably, Chahat has won two gold medals, setting new national records in both the 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke categories. Apart from this, she won a silver medal in the 200m breaststroke. Along with this, Chahat has also been selected for the World Swimming Championships to be held in Melbourne in December.Besides, Punjab won one gold and five silver medals in judo. Avtar Singh won gold in 100 below and category and Ranjeeta, Kanwarpreet Kaur, Ravneet Kaur, Sonam and Harshpreet Singh won silver medals. In cycling, Punjab’s Harshveer Singh won the gold medal in the 120 km road race.

Acche din’ had never came but ‘sacche din’ will be there with formation of honest AAP government in Gujarat: says CM

          Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today asserted that ‘Acche din’ had never came in Gujarat but ‘sacche din’ will be there with formation of honest AAP government in the state.

          Addressing a massive rally here today, the Chief Minister said that though the ‘Achhe din’ are still a delusion but the ‘Sachhe din’ will come in Gujarat after AAP will form an honest government in Gujarat. He said that a development oriented government will come in Gujarat after the polls. Bhagwant Mann said that this government will cherish the aspirations of all the freedom fighters in the state.

          The Chief Minister further said that people of Gujrat had borne BJP for more than 27 years in dearth of any substitute but now winds of change are blowing in state. He said that in last 27 years development has taken a backseat in Gujarat adding that it unfortunate that the state with budget of Rs 2.50 lakh crore has a debt of Rs 3.50 lakh crore. Bhagwant Mann said that people of Gujarat are paying tax even while sleeping whereas the friends of BJP are plundering this money.

          The Chief Minister said that Gujrat will break record of Punjab and Delhi by giving whopping majority to AAP in the state. He said that people are anxiously waiting for showing door to BJP from Gujarat. Bhagwant Mann said that in December AAP will form pro-people government in the state.

          Taking the BJP leaders to cudgels the Chief Minister said that they people have been opposing freebees to people whereas they have extended largesse to their friends. He said that these leaders and their coterie  have mercilessly looted Public money. However, Bhagwant Mann said that it is strange that these leaders oppose the pro-people initiatives of AAP.

          Describing Congress as ‘B’ team of BJP, the Chief Minister said that saffron party has purchased Congress MLAs in many states. He said that this is murder of democracy but Congress leaders have not opposed this matter on any ground. Bhagwant Mann said that the day is not far when Congress will open offices in the country with the tag ‘MLAs on sale’.

          The Chief Minister said that this is unfortunate that Congress and BJP have connived with each other to make a mockery of the democratic values. He said that these leaders have plundered the money of country far more mercilessly than even what the Britishers had done. However, Bhagwant Mann categorically said that people are supreme in democracy and they will not tolerate this.

          Citing several pro-people initiatives of the state government in Punjab, the Chief Minister said that the state government has passed the ‘One MLA, One Pension’ bill which stipulates that each MLA will get only a single pension, instead of the earlier provision of permitting multiple pensions for every term. He said that similarly the state government has given more than 17,000 government jobs to the youth purely on merit basis. Bhagwant Maan said that the process to regularise 36,000 contractual employees in the state has also started and recently only the state government has issued notification for regularising services of around 9000 employees.

          The Chief Minister further said that 100 Aam Aadmi clinics have been opened in Punjab for imparting quality health services to people. He said that in similar way the schools are being transformed into schools of imminence. Bhagwant Mann also said that 600 units of free power are being given to every household in Punjab.

          The Chief Minister said that the huge crowd in rallies was a testimony to fact that AAP will form government in Gujarat. He said that BJP has been baffled by massive response to the party in state. Bhagwant Mann appealed the people to vote for AAP to carve out a vibrant and progressive Gujarat.
