Blue Spider’ web series kick-started with muhurat shot in city

Upcoming Hindi web series, ‘Blue Spider’ kick-started with a muhurat shot at sector 34 here on Friday.

The series based on the concept of desi villager-turns-superhero, is being directed by Jagadhri lad Rakesh Kumar. It is being produced by Ajay Sharma, director of Morph Academy & Boxfy and Anjana Sharma .

Talking to media at the muhurat shot, Ajay Sharma said , “ This series will be presenting the live action plus animation VFX and we are quite hopeful that the series will be liked by the audience.”

A long cherished dream and 4-year long efforts are finally being realized through a series that is predominantly based on VFX– a first-of-its-kind venture in India, remarked Rakesh Kumar.

Being produced through cloud funding at the low budget of Rs. 2 cr, the series will cast new budding artists and actors who till now have only performed in theatres and street-plays, said Rakesh.

The web series has been written by Rakesh himself and its cinematographer is Parm.

Pragati and Rakesh are playing the lead in Blue Spider which is expected to be released on OTT platforms early next year.

Vigilance nabs revenue Patwari for taking bribe Rs 5,000

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau during its campaign against corruption on Monday nabbed a Patwari Jaspreet Singh posted at revenue halqa Hathur, Tehsil Jagraon, district Ludhiana red handed accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau (VB) said Patwari Jaspreet Singh was arrested on the complaint of Resham Singh of village Hathur, tehsil Jagraon. He informed that the complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above said Patwari was demanding Rs. 3,000 per acre as bribe effecting mutual partition of ancestral land measuring 25 acres which comes to total bribe amount of Rs 75,000.

After verifying his information, a VB team laid a trap and the accused Patwari was arrested on the spot while accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000 as a first instalment from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB, Economic Offences Wing, police station Ludhiana and further investigation was under progress.

Haryana makes zoo entry free for visitors during the ‘National Wildlife Week’

As per the direction of the Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, visitor entry has been made free of cost in the zoos of Bhiwani, Rohtak and Pipli during the ‘National Wildlife Week’. Besides this, children are being encouraged to visit the zoos during the ‘National Wildlife Week’ from October 2 to October 8.

Sharing more information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that the ‘National Wildlife Week’ is being celebrated in Haryana as well as across the country.  This wildlife week is celebrated to bring more and more awareness among the general public to preserve the wildlife.

Main programme to be held in Chhachhrauli on October 6

The spokesperson said that the main programme of ‘National Wildlife Week’ will be organized in Chhachhrauli, Yamunanagar on October 6.   Forest Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal will be the Chief Guest in the programme.  During this week people will be made aware to plant more and more saplings and conserve wildlife.

Painting competition will be organized in every district

The spokesperson said that during the ‘National Wildlife Week’, painting competitions would be organized in every district to make children aware of wildlife conservation.  The winners will also be given awards.  Meanwhile, the children participating in the Yamunanagar district will be honoured in the main programme to be held in Chhachhrauli.

Exhibition will also be organized on Wildlife Week

The spokesperson said that an exhibition related to wildlife would also be organized at Chhachhrauli.  Photographs, paintings and documentaries related to wildlife will also be displayed in this exhibition.

PUNJAB AMONG TOP FIVE STATES IN THE COUNTRY IN SWACHATA SARVEKSHAN AWARD

Local government minister, Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar said that  Punjab has secured 5th position in Swachata Survekshan 2022,  awards given by Union Ministry of Housing and Urban affairs. The competition takes place among all the states of the country,  having more than 100 Urban Local Bodies (ULB).  Punjab has got the first position in the northern zone, which is a matter of pride for the Punjab State and an inspiration for the rest of the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), said the minister.  He congratulated the Management, officials and employees of the Local Government Department for this achievement.

He also said that last year Punjab had stood seventh and had improved it’s position to fifth, this year. 

He further informed that during the Swachata SARVEKSHAN Punjab has scored 2935 points across the country.  He also said that according to the population of the city, Moonak, NawanShahar and Gobindgarh have got the first rank as clean cities.  In addition,   Ghagga, Bareta, Bhikhi, Dasuya, Kurali, Nangal and Fazilka were also honoured with awards in the cleanliness survey ceremony.

The  Minister,  said that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, had  organized an award ceremony on the basis of Swachata SARVEKSHAN 2022at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi on Saturday.

Local Government Minister, Dr.  Inderbir Singh Nijjar said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Punjab, Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann is fully working to provide a clean environment to the people of the state.  As a result, it has won an award in the cleanliness survey by Urban Local Bodies(ULBs) of Punjab Government.

 The Minister also appealed to other Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) that they should also take inspiration from the Urban Local Bodies that have secured the position.  Apart from this, he also appealed to the people of the State to cooperate with the government in keeping their surroundings clean so that in the future, it will help to bring Punjab to the first position in the cleanliness survey across the country.

PUNJAB POLICE BUSTS INTER-STATE DRUG CARTEL; HARYANA RESIDENT HELD WITH 2.51 LAKH PHARMA OPIOIDS

    As part of the ongoing war against drugs launched on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Fatehgarh Sahib Police has busted an inter-state pharmaceutical drug cartel with the arrest of a Haryana resident after recovering 2.51 lakh Pharma opioids from his possession.           Disclosing this, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Anti-Gangster Task Force-cum-Ropar Range Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that the arrested accused has been identified as Ranjit Goswami, Batra Colony in Sonipat, Haryana. The Police have recovered 2,37,000 tablets of Alprazolam and 14,400 of the Pyeevon Spas capsules from his KIA car, in which he was smuggling drugs from Haryana, he added.           This is the third such inter-state pharmaceutical drug racket busted by the Fatehgarh Sahib district Police in less than three months. Earlier, Fatehgarh Sahib Police had recovered as many as 7 lakh tablets/capsules of Pharma opioids on July 14, 2022, while, 1.17 lakh tablets/capsules of Pharma opioids were recovered on September 4, 2022.           DIG Gurpreet Bhullar said that following a tip-off Police teams from CIA Sirhind and Police Station Khamano laid a special checking at Khamano and stopped a KIA car bearing registration number HR10AJ9791, which was being driven by accused Ranjit Goswami. During checking of the car, the police teams have recovered a huge quantity of pharma opioids, he said.           SSP Fatehgarh Sahib Dr Ravjot Grewal said that during preliminary investigations, it has come to light that the arrested accused is into the transport business in Delhi and Amritsar. The accused has confessed that he has been supplying pharma opioids in Punjab for the last few years and most of his customers are in Moga and Ludhiana, she said.           She said that the police have procured three days police remand of the accused person after producing him in the court and further investigations are on.           Meanwhile, FIR No 131 has been registered under section 22(c) of the NDPS Act at Police Station Fatehgarh Sahib.  

Jimpa reiterates commitment to make state healthy and clean

Water supply and sanitation Minister Punjab Mr. Brahm Shanker Jimpa today reiterated the firm commitment of state government to make state healthy and clean.

Presiding over state level function to mark Swach Bharat Diwas here today, the Minister, accompanied by Deputy Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Mr. Jai Krishan Singh Rori, said that under ‘My village, my responsibility’ campaign 23 village panchayats who have done exemplary work for management of solid waste have been felicitated. Likewise, he said that three best performing villages under ODF plus film competition too have been honoured. Mr. Jimpa said that 15 districts who have done remarkable work under ‘Har Ghar Jal’ scheme too have been honoured.

The Minister said that the state government is according top priority to make state clean, green and pollution Free. He further said that concerted efforts are being made to check the depleting water table by providing the supply of surface water. Mr. Jimpa said that works of Rs. 1100 crores were in progress across several districts of the state.

The Minister said that Swach Bharat Rural phase II has been embarked in the state. Under this, special efforts will be made for solid waste management in villages. Likewise, Mr Jimpa said that efforts are afoot to make villages of state ODF Plus by March 2025.

On the occasion Deputy Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Mr. Jai Krishan Singh Rori, MLAs Dr. Ravjot Singh, Mr. Karanvir Singh Ghuman and Mr. Jasbir Singh Raja Gill, Water supply and sanitation principal secretary Mr. DK Tiwari and others were also present.

PUNJAB POLICE BUSTS ISI BACKED DRONE-BASED KTF TERROR MODULE; TWO OPERATIVES HELD

The decisive war against anti-social elements launched on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has dealt a major blow to Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) backed drone-based Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) terror-module after Rupnagar Police have apprehended its two operatives from Chamkaur Sahib area, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Sunday.

The terror module is being operated by Canada-based terrorist/gangster Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dala, who is a close associate of KTF’s Canada-based chief Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

Those arrested have been identified as Veeja Singh alias Gagan alias Gaggu of village Chand Nava in Moga and Ranjodh Singh alias Jyoti of village Ganji Gulab Singh Wala in Moga. The Police have also recovered two illicit weapons including a .22 bore revolver and .32 bore pistol along with 21 live cartridges from their possession.

The development came four days after the Ferozepur Police had recovered one sophisticated AK-47 assault rifle along with two magazines and 60 live cartridges from a pinpointed location at the paddy fields of village Arifke in Ferozepur. Investigations revealed that the consignment was dropped using a drone on the directions of Terrorist/Gangster Arsh Dala, and was intended to be retrieved by Veeja Singh and Ranjodh Singh from Arifke village.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that after the recovery of the weapons from Ferozepur, an intelligence-led operation was launched across the state to nab the accused persons, and on a reliable inputs, Rupnagar Police have managed to arrest both the accused persons from Chamkaur Sahib area during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

He said that during preliminary investigations, arrested persons have confessed that they had gone to Arifke village to retrieve this consignment on directions of Terrorist/Gangster Arsh Dala but couldn’t find it, and later, it was recovered by the Ferozepur Police on the information of a field owner.

“Both accused have also confessed to having received few drone-based weapon consignments to further deliver them at specific locations as directed by Canada-based Terrorist/Gangster Arsh Dala, which was further to be used for major target killings to disturb communal harmony of the state,” said the DGP.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rupnagar Sandeep Garg said that further investigations are on and more arrests are expected soon.

Meanwhile, FIR no 74 dated 2.10.22 has been registered under section 153A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 25 of the Arms Act at Police Station Chamkaur Sahib.

BOX: PROCESS IS ON TO EXTRADITE GANGSTER ARSH DALA

Canada-based Arsh Dala, a native of Dala village in Moga, is a notorious gangster turned terrorist involved in various criminal activities in Punjab and abroad, and is most wanted by the Punjab Police. His involvement had also emerged in various targeted killings that took place in the Border state of Punjab, besides, in cases of supplying militant hardware including RDX, IEDs, AK-47 and other arms and ammunition to modules in the state after getting them imported from Pakistan.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the process is on to extradite Arsh Dala from Canada and soon he will be brought to India. Notably, the Red Corner Notice against Arsh Dala has already been issued in May 2022.

Kultar Singh Sandhwan made surprise visits to different markets to review procurement of paddy

The Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan made a surprise visit to various grain markets of the Malwa belt and reviewed the procurement of paddy. He instructed the officials to ensure smooth and efficient procurement of paddy.

After visiting the grain markets, S. Sandhwan expressed satisfaction over the procurement arrangements and ordered to resolve any problem wherever it appeared. He said that the Punjab government is committed to provide every facility to the farmers in the markets and the government has already issued instructions in this regard. He said that during the current season, the farmers will not face any problem in the markets. Flying squads have been formed to monitor the arrival of paddy in the markets and check posts have been made at the inter-state borders to prevent any illegal purchase during the season. Apart from this, orders have been issued to ensure payment within 24 hours to all farmers.

The Vidhan Sabha Speaker said that the Punjab government is committed to the purchase every grain of paddy. Clear instructions have been given regarding the procurement, lifting, transportation, labour, electricity, drinking water, sanitation, toilet facility ect. All grain markets are being monitored by sub-divisional magistrates and procurement agencies have been ordered to follow the instructions of the government.

FIRST IN NORTH INDIA, SUPER ECBC COMPLIANT BUILDING TO BE CONSTRUCTED IN SAS NAGAR: AMAN ARORA

In a bid to promote energy conservation and showcase the energy efficiency in the buildings, Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government has decided to construct a super Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) compliant building in SAS Nagar (Mohali).Revealing this, Punjab New and Renewable Energy Sources Minister Mr Aman Arora said that Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) department has allocated a dedicated land of 1500 sq.m. to PEDA for construction of Super ECBC building at Sector-65, SAS Nagar to showcase the energy efficiency in the buildings.This building will be constructed within next 2 years for operation, said the Cabinet Minister while adding that it would be one such kind of model building showcasing the super efficient technologies integrating with passive design features to be constructed as first building in North India.          Additional Chief Secretary New & Renewable Energy Sources Mr. A. Venu Prasad apprised that the demonstration super ECBC compliant building will contain all state-of-the-art technologies and this building will be served as Model Building for all the stakeholders, students & general public for awareness in the State. The Design & Construction cost of the proposed Super Energy Efficient Building will be borne by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).Chief Executive PEDA Dr. Sumeet Jarangal mentioned that H&UD department has allocated this land under public institutional infrastructure in Sector-65, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) near Punjab Mandi Bhawan of around 1500 sq.m. as a role model for stimulating such practices in more government buildings to showcase energy efficiency in the State of Punjab.Notably, PEDA is a designated Agency of the Government of Punjab to coordinate and enforce the Energy Conservation Act-2001 in the state under the guidelines of BEE, Ministry of Power, GoI. 

Winds of change blowing in Gujarat as people ready for scripting a new record: Punjab CM

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today asserted that winds of change are witnessing in Gujarat and people of the state will script new success story after polls.

Interacting with the media here while presenting guarantee of maintenance of Cow, the Chief Minister, accompanied by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister said that people of Gujarat are confronting same problems as were witnessed in Punjab prior to 2022 polls. He said that Gujarat is facing severe agriculture crisis, schools and hospitals are in shambles and the situation of roads are in pitiable situation, a situation which was in Punjab before 2022 polls. Bhagwant Mann said that the situation can change only if the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is voted to power.

Slamming the Congress and BJP, the Chief Minister said that both the parties are two sides of same coin. He said that despite of being worst victim of operation lotus the Congress has supported BJP’s anti-democratic stand in the ongoing session of the state assembly. Bhagwant Mann said that once it was Congress (I) but now it is Congress (BJP) as both the parties have connived with each other to plunder people and wealth of state.

Listing the several path breaking initiatives of the Aam Aadmi Government in Punjab, the Chief Minister said that from July 1 onwards the Punjab government has provided 600 units of free power to people in every bill cycle. He said that as a result of this around 50 lakh households out of total 72.66 lakh, which was roughly 68.71 %of total) have got zero power bill in the month of September. Likewise, Bhagwant Mann said that more than 17,000 government jobs have been given to the youth in last six months.

Similarly the Chief Minister said that his government is against the exploitative contractual system of jobs due to which they had started process of regularising services of more than 30,000 contractual employees in state. Bhagwant Mann said that he has launched anti-corruption helpline after which corrupt elements are being put behind the bars. He said that only an honest government can take such path breaking and pro-people initiatives

The Chief Minister said that in order to tackle the menace of stray cattle efficaciously, the state government is strengthening the Gau Sewa Commission. He said that the motive is to reduce the fatalities due to accidents caused by stray cattle on one hand and to ensure proper upkeeps of cow on the other. Bhagwant Mann said that efforts are afoot to ensure judicious utilisation of cow cess for welfare of cattle.
